    Things to know -
Yes you can keep track of your belongings ..
No , you won’t be able to track your ex/partner . They will get an alert about airtag nearby

There is the problem I have with it, you cannot use it to track stolen goods.

Pointless and it doesn't need to be that way as Apple could easily patch it to work to track stolen things. I dunno why products have to be made useless assuming we're all evil? If your partner is tracking you like this, it isn't going to be the first sign they're not for you so it isn't like this is helping anyone.

I got rid of all mine once I found out they tell you that it is there. Any other alternative lets you track stolen goods so I dunno what Apple are doing other than making a product as useless as their Homepod.

Just take out the speaker snd you have a car tracker that no thief will find.
Pop it under the trim panel or carpets etc

Drive to a remote location and use Apple's "Tracker Detect" Android app to point out there's an Airtag.

Sadly only useful to iPhone owners but the android equivilents will be launching in the Summer.

Thanks OP, due to some work in our garden one of our 4yo dogs went for a adventure caused alot of stress. Biting the bullet and being a neurotic owner and airtaging their collars(y) (edited)

Agreed. Our whippet never leaves home without one

Worth checking ebay as I picked up this same item (4-pack) from a seller for £70 plus £2.70 postage. Brand new sealed. But the best part was I went via vouchercodes and earned a £20 grocery gift card, so net cost was only £52.70 rather than Apple’s £119 price! (edited)

They are few and far between at that price and your taking a risk with sketchy ebay sellers. These are prime for fake listings, tenner under retail price buy it now auctions and 0 feedback are giveaways.

i've had bargins off ebay a plenty but i wouldn't be too keen on loosing £50. not denying good deals can be had, but buyer beware! (edited)

Overpriced crap cus it has the apple logo on it, useless for stolen goods but have been known to be used to track kids for predators in the past.

This may need a re-write, unless you meant what you did in the last sentence
I don’t believe you meant you were tracking kids for predators by any chance

Ordered.. I have the eufy and goodmans ones and they are not the best. I hope these are better. I had one briefly and someone stole it. I think it’s bad how easily they can be wiped and reset!!!

Is there anything better than these for android that I can attach to my bike for tracking, if stolen?

uk.tile.com/ or Samsung have their own version if you have a Samsung phone (edited)

So... Am i able to put this in my car for it to be tracked? Or would the thief be able to know there's a tracker?
    chuffedfox's avatar
Other people with iPhones can detect that there's a tag in there
  13. shonkydonkey's avatar
Every real-world test I have seen, Samsung tags beat Apple tags.

I have the Samsung tags and they're pretty good, even on the move - getting multiple pings on a car tracker while on a motorway journey for example, which is better than I was expecting. There's a lot of Samsung phones out there!

Plus you can easily remove the speaker

So what? Buy that one then...(highfive)

Can apple give the identity of the thief to the police - who has your stolen car/with AirTag inside, via the iPhone being detected?

Whats the best tracker for a cat?
    T1Cybernetic's avatar
I've been thinking about something similar for our two cats. The amount of posts on social media about people locking other peoples cat's in their homes because they believe the cat is homeless or lost etc is disturbing. We have them both chipped and registered but there's so many dishonest people out there it's worrying.

Anyone used these on their kids. Going on holiday soon and was hoping to keep on kids (pocket or somewhere) just incase they happen to get lost….
    EdH's avatar
Yes, we have. Went to Istanbul last mont and we put it the pocket of our daugter just in case.
