Wow, you treat your kids really badly - surely just painting the kids blue is enough without writing on them as well oO

I've got the old 780 model. Good overall quality with the only downside being that they're USB so limited to PC use.

Well they work on my PS4 and I'd imagine that means they might work on the Xbox too? No surround sound functionality (which sucks anyway) but the audio and mic works.
I had the 780s for about a year to a year and half and never misused them but, they snapped in two making them unsuable. Looking on the internet i found it was a "common" issue with the headset so, please be careful with them as they are fragile.

Oh here is an image of what i meant and no its not mine. https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/61RYfJoH9KL._SL256_.jpg

Very good pair, but good luck for finding a pair that has no minor issues...
got these for 116 earlier yesterday :) amazing price
I have these in my basket and a few days ago they were down to £116 but, as with now, they are showing "Usually dispatched within 1 to 2 months." I probably should have gone for it. I have no idea why they went down to £116. I usually find Amazon are price matching someone but couldn't find out who, in that case. Still a good price at £146.75. Have some heat.

When people say oh you can a oppo or Huawei for £100 cheaper, they missing the point, you buy a Sony not just for the specification but the whole package, it will run better and will have decent warranty support, not to mention android updates. most these Chinese brands rarely update their phones, and something goes wrong they not the best for warranty either
banned
It's good deal for a flagship, and I've owned a z3 for almost 2 years, now have z5. Had play with one in carphone warehouse, really impressed with the speed, camera seems better then my z5, I was impressed with that. Most people vote cold because it's not a Samsung or iPhone. They should try use a Sony phone more refined in every way. Specification are good, like the new metal back and the triple sensor camera. Full HD is super sharp and most people wouldn't notice the difference, if you want the display to like a Samsung then turn on vivid mode. Sony displays are powered by X reality pro so it's super sharp and detailed picture. 3gb ram is a sensible choice it won't drain battery and most apps don't utilise memory like a laptop would. With Sony new optimised UI coupled with snapdragon 820 this phone is a beast. Build quality is better then the s7 and iPhone 7. With the headphones offer its a steal. I've pre ordered one from Amazon, giving my z5 to my dad
headphones worth £150 ... but available for £99 at Argos

The sim free preorder was 500 quid a week ago but they've been steadily increasing the price now so it is no longer worth while. Those bluetooth headphones are nice but I don't really listen to music much so not a huge bonus for myself.
I see what you mean but if you compare the price now (£549) to other flagship phones when they were released, Samsung S7 £569, S7 Edge £639, iPhone 7 £599. It still seems like a reasonable price, and this phone is easily comparable to those phones. Hope I helped.
Oh, don't get me wrong, the price is still sort of competitive but given that they are shipping with slightly inferior specs (vs android phones) such as half the screen resolution, 1GB fewer RAM, no OIS in camera (electronic is not the same)... this coming from a Sony fan with a Z3. Also, the OPO3 at £329 is almost as competitive and that's 200 quid cheaper!

What battery did you buy?

i hope you're pleasantly surprised, should arrive Wednesday... feel free to follow up your comment to trevcjohnson, or even add a review of your own... there's not many reviews on these to be fair. ;-)

Well they arrived today and I really can’t see why they've been voted cold, they're great phone headsets for the money. I mainly use them for listening to podcasts while out walking, which is why I get through so many pairs of earbuds as they tend to get snagged on styles and bushes, so I don’t want to spend too much.

I don’t know, maybe for a fiver people really do expect to get a £160 food blender, so the same for a set of earbuds it probably is too much for them.

Anyway, thanks for sharing. Oh and I've just ordered another two pairs!

seems like nobody is interested ... :{
Entirely understandable. I wouldn't normally be greatly interested in Superfi, buying most things online as I do, but for anybody wanting to test out a particular separate, or whatever, they're another option if you don't have a Richer Sounds nearby. Forget John Lewis - they're hopeless and usually overpriced these days.

Richer Sounds is the place to go, but this Superfi deal is a one-off. They offer a standard deal of £10 off £100 in vouchers, but £20 this weekend. Of interest mainly to anyone wanting something that's never discounted.

The Ruark R4 Mk3, for example, is £649 wherever you look. This deal gets you a £120 voucher to use on other items from Superfi, and there isn't another deal to touch that. Same applies to anything else that they're competitive on - not everything.

This always rings alarm bells for me, so many headphones produce over boosted and artificial bass. Not heard these so no vote, but please lets have a good pair of natural sounding, musical 'phones for less than a ton.
Honestly, when people talk about Sennheiser they don't talk about the Urbanite series. Definitely under-par performers.
These were the first sennheiser headphones I thought sounded bad. Plain bad. For £40 it might not be too bad for the price but I compared them to the momentum on ears and there was a massive difference.

Ah same sort of thing :D
The point i should have made was that i've always found that anything that's attached to the headphone cable in the middle usually always causes it to wear out a lot quicker. that's why i prefer mine to be just normal cable.
To be totally honest, I've never had a microphone/button 'fail' - it's always the jack that goes first.

It "fails" in the sense that the cable ends up getting pulled out of whatever attachment is in the middle of the cable, at least it does for me but then I tend to be a rather extreme user of headphones anyway - i go through about 2 or 3 pairs a year :)

Great price but gone up now.
They would be a steal at this price... but they've gone up to £147.
Absolute steal at this price. Payday aint till end of next week :(
Ordered!
Thanks for the heads up!
EDIT: According to one user hifi forum (I registered and questioned) the pads make ALL the difference. If you find the sound muddy, consider buying the soft velour Pads from Brainwavz to see if anything improves. I'm ordering them now myself to see if it changes the sound signature.

Ok guys. I ordered this twice due to the price drop and received 2 clearly different models.

I had considered not typing this up because it would make you guys really paranoid, but I think you deserve to know.
As read in the hi fi forum, (link below) there is 2 or 3 different models in circulation at the moment.

They can be identified in the following ways (these are how I received them)

1st pair GIBSON- Clear writing on the leather padding. Glued on pads. Firmer, courser, thinner velour pads.
2nd pair WOOX-Less defined lettering. Not Glued on pads. Spongier (if you push down you can touch the edge of the cans), shinier, thicker velour pads.

The problem now is that there is no way of subjectively knowing which one you have unless you have the other one so you can compare relatively the other one in your hands.

Now there seems to be tons of differing account on audio quality, but I will say from my experience of receiving both different models:

I prefer the WOOX model.

The main reason is audio quality. Now some say that both models sound identical, but for me, the models I received were different in 1 major way.

BASS

The Gibson models Bass is at first incredible, but the more audio you sample, you realise it is overblown. The vocals get drowned out in it, and although for games it makes explosions sound incredible, your songs will sound distand and thumping regardless of genre.
My warning bells sounded when I listed to "Forth Eorlingas" and "End of Things" in the LOTR two towers soundtrack and return of the king respectively. The crescendo choir voice sounded incredibly far away and not triumphant.

When I received the WOOX model, the super bass was not present (but still pretty bassy, comparable to ATH m50X) and everything sounded like "it should"

looking through the forums some have attributed this purely to the padding quality, but the signature is so different I have my doubts.

Audio is subjective, and I might have received a defective model. I thought maybe ignorance is bliss and it would be better if you enjoyed your product without knowing that there is audio discrepancy between the same product.

[everything except the overexposed bass is identical. The soundstage is excellent, the detail and clarity is still top notch just slightly distant, and the pads are equally comfortable]

AGAIN this is purely my personal experience and I hope you enjoy whatever item you receive.

(TLDR. the easiest way to tell if you received GIBSON or WOOX is probably the glued pads, but not neccesarrily as gibson may have changed procedures. point is if you like the sound keep it, and test everything)

Seems to be a big saving for supposedly £179 headphones, with decent'ish reviews, these are available on ebay for around £50. Two other colours are available on Amazon for £48.99 I tend to think…

wouldn't touch it at a fiver. the range are the worst audio i've heard in a long time!
I tried it during Christmas, did not like it at all.

Do not know why it has good reviews on amazon.

To me, it is quite bad.

Any headphones I used is better than it.
Not sure why expired, white/gold are still 39.99

Not iPhone 7 compatible. :3
Except for with the free adapter which comes with every phone.
Apple's going to regret not including a headphone jack on the actual phone. First they don't include an SD Card reader and now this. Just wonderful.

They never had an SD card reader in the first place though, so that won't be that missed, where as the headphone socket, that is something else!
Got mine at Mansfield this afternoon - no problem - thanks op
Husband just got himself headphones in Coventry.
Anyone else get free socks instead of headphones?
Where are terms and conditions? Cannot find it on intersport website?

I've had these for a while, not going to blow your mind but alright for the price.
Must have been a fault or faulty batch. I got this from them, cheaper though, but then Gearbest change their prices on a whim. Good sound, can't fault it.
I bought a set of these from GearBest. I'm not sure if they were fake, but my set were bloody awful. The drivers are those nasty low-fi ones you get in poundland earphones, which rattle and give you a headache even at low volume.
Might be good for iPhone 7 at least it'll be hard to loose them
Anyone have any of these at hand, what's the sound like?
