Found this while looking for a new phone for the Mrs as her iphone 5 is getting a bit slow. Iphone 6 Space grey/silver/gold 16GB all available like new on o2 refresh and for only £189.99. I know its 16GB but its only £189.99 almost close to moto g prices so that's not too bad Shirley?

To get the price to £189.99 click on Almost Perfect on 16GB then choose the tariff which is 20GB Data £69.99 upfront and £5 monthly device payment plan.

So Upfront £69.99 +
£5 x 24 = £120 = Total £189.99

Better get back to work the wifey thinks I'm talking to somebody called Shirley.....

For those that are fearful of an early termination fee...

You probably need to just explain the refresh system before you're frozen

Yes please explain how this works. Also if you need to use this on … Yes please explain how this works. Also if you need to use this on another network are there additional costs to unlock? Thanks (_;)

OK so this is how it works:

Step 1 : Buy phone as above with the above listed plan.

Step 2: Wait for phone to arrive. Once it has arrived put the O2 sim into the phone and make a 10-20 second phone call to activate the phones IMEI on O2's system (You need to do this if you want to unlock the phone to use any sim card)

Step 3: Next go to O2's online unlock webpage to unlock your phone for free: https://www.o2.co.uk/apps/help/help?qid=1&q1=2&route=unlocking&case=Handset%20Unlocking%20Form

Step 4: Once unlock request is done it takes 1-7 days to unlock. I would recommend you wait until the phone is unlocked before doing the next step.

*update* It seems you don't need to wait for the unlock to complete before cancelling. You must however request the unlock and confirm with o2 on the phone that unlock is processing before cancelling airtime contract just to be on the safe side.

Step 5: Once the phone is unlocked successfully ring 02 and tell them you want to pay off the device plan which should be £5 x 24 = £120 and you want to also at the same time cancel the airtime. Now o2 customers services representatives are known to be a bit slow so you might need to speak to someone who is on the ball. They should then cancel the airtime and you would have paid off the phone so you have a fully unlocked iPhone 6 for only £189.99.

PS: Some people have stated that o2 sometimes do not cancel the airtime contract part and they get sent bills afterwards, to avoid this I would recommend after you have cancelled the airtime after a few hours or days contact o2 support again and confirm that they have cancelled the airtime plan and get them to confirm in writing.

I know its a bit of a long winded way to get the phone but if all goes well should be worth it

I see how to do it all....and i see the 20GB plan and admit that it is … I see how to do it all....and i see the 20GB plan and admit that it is tempting....but why do O2 allow you to cancel the airtime part almost immediately??? Surely there is a 30 days notice or minimum term of contract in force? What if O2 change the goalposts as a result of HUKD posting...can this happen and leave me stuck with £30 p.m. airtime? Sorry........

You are asking the same questions that have been asked a million times before.

Who knows WHY O2 do these deals. Who cares? The system has been working for years now...

So either pull the trigger, or go with a 'safer' option that costs a heap more

maybe just pay £12 on eBay and get it done that way?

this is the 4th 02 Refresh deal Ive had off HUKD

this to warn others, as per other deals
you my have a bit of hassel when canceling with getting charged etc

don't worry or panic, you just get back onto 02 and they will sort it, just be patient

also for the record as soon as you get the phone
turn off data, put the sim in call 202 put the phone down (its a free call anyway)
then request your unlock code, you can do this either by online via your account details, by livechat or call up
this takes about 24-48 hours, once you get the unlock code or instruction back
call 02 to pay off off the device plan
they cancel the airtime, then the iphone 6 (unlocked) is yours

    Thanks OP daughter is happy

The deal is still very much live.

    1. Sort Tariffs : by Monthly Data (low to high)
    2. Then near the bottom click on "+ Show More" to list all the (hidden) options.
    3. Select the lady one that is £69.99 upfront, £35pm (2GB data).

Of the £35pm you will pay off £5pm (x24) device fee upfront and cancel the commitment for the £30pm tariff charge as per O2 refresh T&C.

Hope that makes it a bit clearer.

    Hi

My Iphone 6 16gb gold arrived this morning. It looks brand new! As per the steps the OP outlined I made a quick call to activate the IMEI, then phoned 02. I explained that I wanted to pay off the device in full, request an unlock and cancel the airtime plan. The first person I spoke to requested the unlock for me and stated that a code and instructions for me to follow for the unlock, will be with me within 72 hours. I was then put through to the retention team where another person took my payment for the phone and she requested the airtime plan to be cancelled. She said the cancellation will come into effect tomorrow and that I will only pay for 1 day of the airtime plan. I will let you know how that turns out, as I should get the bill around 8th August.

Many thanks to the Op for pointing out this deal, as I would never have been able to get this phone otherwise.

No, £5pm is for the handset. Refresh contracts are seperate; £30pm for the Airtime and £5pm for the Phone. Cancel the Airtime (as above) and pay off the phone to get the deal.

I just rang up o2 pay monthly team, and they said even though I'm not an exsisting customer, i can have the refresh deal. I checked and yes you can get it unlocked and cancel your airtime contract, paying off the 24x 5 pounds, but you will be charged the one months airtime as well, because of the 30 day cancellation period, so it's another 35 pounds on top, but still a great deal.

I would have to pay 24 months lump sum of both the £5 device plan and £30 airtime plan. Really sceptical now at placing an order.

That chat rep is talking utter jibberish, it's in the o2 tc that you can pay off phoneplan and cancel airtime, this has been posted over & over on here.

Ordered 4th set. People no need to worry. If you have not concerned about too many searches on your credit, just close your eyes (not literally) and order. This is my 3rd year and 4th set. Actually you don't even have to wait for the unlock code to arrive before you cancel. I call them as soon as I receive my handset to payoff the handset, request unlock, and then cancel airtime. The call to them is the only call I make. The only issue is that they are crap sometimes and you might see an early termination charge. Just go to chat and then'll correct the bill to NIL or issue a credit straight away. Handset cost is the only cost I have paid. The almost perfect sets have been absolutely scratch less in my experience so far.

2nd update:Received phone yesturday went online and filled out the unlock … 2nd update:Received phone yesturday went online and filled out the unlock form. O2 gave me an email today saying unlock unsuccesfull because my details didint match on the form oOCalled them up and they said they had no idea why the email said that and everything was correct on the form. Anyway they applied for the unlock for me on the phone and said it went through fine and i should get the unlock code within 24 hours. At the same time I paid of the phone plan (£5× 24=£120) and then cancelled the air time part of the plan (£30). Now the lady on the phone said that she can cancel the airtime in two ways. 1st cancel after 30 days or second transfer my o2 number into payg sim and cancel it at the earliest date which is this teusday. Obviously i went for the tuesday option as it will cost me only 5 days of airtime payment whic xhould be £5. She did say the airtime was now cancelled but that the final bill will be generated on 7th August and thats when the final bill of £5 will be taken by direct debit so its best not to cancel my direct debit till then. Sorry for the long response guys and was written on my phone quickly. Hopefully if all goes well now I should have an unlocked iphone 6 for the mrs for £194. :)Will offcourse update once unlock goes through and if I face any problems.

Chill. It will go through fine. I would suggest to keep an eye on the final bill as I was charged £600 early termination charge my mistake. I just went on chat and they put a credit on right away.

The phone is unlocked to begin with. Just put in a Three sum to ensure it stays that way.

If already locked, put in the O2 sim, switch on the phone...then log into your O2 account and scroll down to the unlock your phone box. Confirm the handset has tied correctly to the account - then just request the unlock.

Received the phone today and i must say i am pleasantly surprised. I did not see a single scratch or blemish. The phone did come in a crappy box though but securely fastened by some sort of plastic wrap. phone came with sim pin and usb cable.

First thing i did was call 202, left it hanging for 45 seconds and then hung up. Next i went to the o2 live chat to unlock the phone, guy said unlock process went through fine and will be unlocked in 7? days i also made sure to ask if i cancel the air time today will it still be unlocked and he said yes.

Next i called up o2 by dialing 202, selecting option 1, then option 2 and then the option where the lady says "if your are thinking of leaving o2 press 4". I talked to a very friendly guy he asked me why i wanted to cancel the air time i just told him it was too much and that was that. i paid off the phone and he cancelled the air time. i made sure to quadruple check that i would not be charged £30 for this month or an absurd amount like £30x24 for cancelling early. all i was going to be charged was £120 for paying off the phone and something like £2 for using 2 days of air time.

sorry for the wall of text but overall process was very smooth and im very happy.
