cheapest by a mile. All that above plus you'll get a 2500 page toner in the box

From the one-page form to the multi-page mammoth PDF, your office printer needs to be responsive, to run consistently and to serve up clear, accurate reproductions of all your important documents.

The OKI C822N is the ideal solution to your daily printing needs, whether it's put to work in a small office or in a particularly busy home study. This laser printer produces crisp, clean text and images, both in grayscale and colour, depending on your requirements.

Because it is designed by OKI, the C822N is equally capable of printing in large format A3 and the much smaller A6. All printouts arrive with consistent clarity, no matter how much you throw the C822N's way.

As well as meeting your office's printing needs, the OKI C822N will play an important part in keeping down costs and minimising unnecessary power expenditure. Its Deep Sleep function means that when it's not in immediate use, the power consumption drops to the bare minimum. The drums and toner cartridges are designed for extended life, and will keep working hard for up to 7,300 prints.

I've got the Dell C1765NFW for £129. Although an A4, the full set of colour cartridges cost £10.99. Really worth buying if you're looking for a multifunction colour A4 laser printer. Plus 3yrs warranty

Can these cart's be refilled with melt and pour?

In any case, I'm on the lookout for an a3 printer for printing charts and diagrams. If it has an a3 scanner (making it an a3 copier) that will be a bonus. Can anyone recommend anything that meets those requirements that wont break the bank when buying it or replenishing the toner?

I don't mind inkjet or laser.

    Cheers

That's good if you don't print much however for some like me who prints a few thousand pages a year it was best to buy a laser printer. I paid £40 for a Brother printer and I've only had to change the toner once, which cost £10. I've printed a couple of thousand pages. At 10p a print that would have cost well over £200 not to mention the time and hassle caused.

I would be so grateful if someone could find a similar offer for a Brother mono laser printer/scanner for around £40-50. Vowed to myself never to buy another inkjet.

I may have read this wrong but can't see how. Are you saying a Brother laser toner cartridge only costs £10 ???

Which Brother printer do you have and where did you buy a £10 toner cartridge from as I'd like to buy at that price.

That's about the same as my Lexmark colour laser, which was pretty good value when I bought it many many moons ago.

It's a very good printer have had lots of experience of these. much better than the new oki printers which are made in conjunction with Toshiba identifiable by the large touch screen displays.

Pardon me for being a bit ignorant here, but why would you need A3 Laser? I can understand it for inkjet printing large photos, but Laser isn't good for images so that would make it only suitable for an awful lot of poster! Or have I got it totally wrong?

If you are only doing a few sheets per month the HP instant ink deal isn't bad. You buy one of their eligible inkjets from £50 and pay a small monthly amount. The printer tells HP when to send new cartridges. £1.99 gives you up to 50 pages per month, £3.49 for up to 100 pages per month and £7.99 gives you up to 300 per month (at the usual 5% coverage). You can roll over some unused pages to the next month (but only up to the number of pages per month that you are paying for).

    See: instantink.hpconnected.com/uk/en

That's cheaper than 10p a page unless you are really using a lot of ink per page.

My mother in law went for this when she had to replace her printer. It's only £1.99 a month, which is easily manageable for her rather than suddenly having to fork out £20-£30 for a new cartridge when she's least expecting it !

Be careful about the service life on the parts, past OKI's i've looked into for work were way under the service life numbers other OEM's offer in a similar price range for servicable parts. Also be wary of non genuine toner, sometimes it's fine, sometimes it's awful, try and stick to a known brand with a bit of backup rather than the cheapest you can find, I know someone who used an A4 OKI and went with a cheap set of toners from ebay, it was never quite the same afterwards and ultimately he forked out for a new one.

If you just want B&W then the Samsung/Dell LED's with compatible toner are cheap and if they do break then they're easily replaced for little cost.
