I use QC headphones when I do long-distance flights (I live in UK family is in Australia). Like 2hawt2spicy says, choose these for comfort. Headphones are a weird thing - you test them by listening for 10 mins in a store and you hear that Sony 1000's sound better, more bass than Bose QC, and you become a brand ambassador, but have you ever worn a headphone for 19 hours straight?

Ten minutes in a glitzy store aren't the hustle bustle of a plane load of cranky travellers. You don't have the background hum and the babies enjoying the ear pressure change. Sony's are great, but my ears start to burn with the headband pressure at 10 hours, and yes, the extra bass is great, but 10 hours of more pressure in my ears makes me cranky. In ten minutes in a store you don't think about how comfortable headbands or ear cushions are.

I find Bose QC to have just the right spring in the headband, and those wedge ear muffs are soft enough to sit there without creating any hotspots.

I guess I'm a Bose brand ambassador.

I bought my first pair of NC headphones for travelling by air. On a recent 9 hour flight with my XM3s my ears were in agony after about 7 hours. Having said that I recall the same issue with my older QC25s after a day of flying and connecting through various airports.

I'm completely confused by Bose NC headphones now. There was the QC25, then the QC35, then the QC35 II which was fine, but after that came the NC700 which seemed to indicate a new design language. However, a year or so later the QC45s came out with the old design... Then the QC ultras which seem to be top of the line. So what are these? Are they just the QC45 rebranded as QC SC? (edited)

Are these worse or better than the Bose QC45 Headphones? My initial assumption was that they're a budget version. (edited)

The same (including firmware updates etc) but they come with a soft shell case instead.

Just got mines today, thanks for the heads up! The case they comes with is incredibly poor so worth factoring that in.
