Tesco Widnes has still got the Skullcandy over ear headphones down to £10 from £40, others too including these posted by OP
Still £15 in Nottingham branch
Good value if you can track them down. My Sony headphones are a good 12-13 years old and still churning out quality sound.

You'd be hard pushed to notice any improvement in image quality over the APS-C a6xxx cameras, especially with this kit lens. Furthermore, the autofocus on this camera is pretty average.
Don't believe the full-frame hype.

The kit lens is actually quite good, dynamic range and level of detail retrievable from RAW files on the A7 is amazing, way better than any of the a6000 cameras. It's not hot though, same price elsewhere.

£882 (with Quidco) from Wex..
http://www.wexphotographic.com/sony-alpha-a7-digital-camera-with-28-70mm-lens-1544411/?
I have an a7 with 18-105 f/4 G and the Zeiss 55mm f/1.8 and the Zeiss is very rarely off the camera. It is a very good camera but you do need to add some good glass as already said for it to really shine.

I didn't find a noticeable difference in low light, especially with the kit lens.

It's all about the lens, if you're prepared to get a large aperture lens for the the A7 it'll be great for low light, but so will the a6xxx. In theory full frame makes a large low light difference, in practice less so... also you've gotta factor in the outrageous price of good quality FF E-mount lenses.

The AF is true hence why I opted for the a7ii however what you said about the full frame thing is ridiculous. There is a massive difference in low light capability I.e anything indoors without a flash

Any good quality lens costs.

Admittedly Sony are starting to get a bit brace with their pricing now and should rein it in a bit

How does this compare to the RX10 Mk3?
Not comparable. Different camera for different purpose.
Huh? Both for taking photos right?
Yes, but they're both very different in their intended usage scenarios. A Nikon D5 and a Hello Kitty Instead Camera are also both for taking photos, but I'd only recommend one of those to a sports photographer.
To be more specific, the RX10 is a bridge camera. By using a smaller sensor format and a tailor-made fixed lens, it is able to fit a 25x zoom lens into an overall package the size of a small DSLR. By contrast, the A7 uses a very large full frame sensor and interchangeable lenses, which means greater potential image quality but achieving the same degree of zoom as the RX10 is going to be impossible in terms of a single lens' zoom range. For example the "kit lens" included with this camera covers roughly the same perspective as the 1x-3x of the RX10's lens. To reach the same perspective as the RX10's furthest zoomed point, you'd need to buy an adaptor and strap on an enormous lens, which would look something like this:http://camerasize.com/compact/#487.520,672,ha,t
Then you have to consider your needs for features like video quality, autofocus, articulating screens, low light image quality etc.
So yeah, while they are both for taking photos, they take very different approaches to it. Spend some time figuring out what exactly you want from a camera, then figure out which brands have cameras that best meets those needs.
Thank you, much better explanation.
I mainly want to take photos of my children in good light but also including HQ videos whilst performing upon stage (bright stage/from dark seating area)

The Sony A6000 is a nice middle ground between the two, you're getting better image quality and low light performance than the RX10, with better autofocus and continuous shooting than the A7. For the £1000ish these two sell for I'd get the A6000 body, Sony 18-105 F4 G lens for all purpose use, and 50mm 1.8 OSS for low light use.

They are fine. Never any issues after 3 purchases.

In saying that I would not purchase these from them due to warranty not being in the UK and these do have some quality control issues
Also the AKG N60 NC Wireless get good reviews too. for around this price point from an authorised seller.

Eglobal masquerade as a UK business. They are not, goods sent from HK.
Buried in their terms is a mention of import taxes being the responsibility of the buyer.
Try Plantronics BackBeat Pro 2 before buying this

Just cancel from day one you received it and request code online an receive it in 48 hours, you do not need to pay any first month and I never have in 5 times I have used refresh. Got mine on July 4th and cancelled and I only payed £409 in total then and it's now £430.
that's a steal. I should go for that. instead of getting this silly pixel xl.
How was the phone?
how long is the screen on time between charges?
the phones excellent if you dont mind this style of phone, theres no nscreen on the market to compete with it but be warned its not 4k all the time you have to switch it on by using a laptop to keep everything 4k always but even without it on its pixel perfect clear and the battery from tests can stay on in full 4k well beyond 7 hours so this battery is very good for the size and if using just for daily stuff it can last way beyond a day without need of charging but one warning is this phone picks up fingerprints easily so recommend black not silver .
How many times have you done the o2 thing?
I've done it twice already in the past two years.
I was worrying whether that might affect my credit score? or getting banned by O2?

Yeah, I'm going to eBay the lot. VR isn't my thing at all. Tried it, loved it but couldn't game in it.

Mate I'm with you - I got my VR last week from Prime Day, great price in mint condition and couldn't have been happier... until I tried it on and felt that sick feeling in the pit of my stomach, like when I'm riding in the backseats, or on a flight...and that was with pretty basic motion onscreen.

Enjoyed the the theatre mode to some degree but the screen resolution is really noticeable when not in vr mode, and I've got an annoying screen tilt issue and quite a bit of blur on the edges. On the whole I'd say its definitely far from perfect, but really fun at moments. I'll be keeping mine until the inevitable next one comes out, but only because I felt I had such a good deal, but no way would recommend it at full price.

Good luck with your auction, shouldn't be a hard sell if its barely used :D

no, I think from the description its the original / v1 model(OP referred to "older style headset", I think meant older style camera).

I've got one of these. It just gathers dust. I have the move controllers too. I kept them from my PS3. Alas VR gaming just isn't of me.
The ps3 used a different camera to this - the PS Eye, which is not compatible with VR. This however, is the ps4 v1 cam which, like v2, is absolutely fine for ps4 vr but otherwise a pretty boring bit of kit - unless Just Dance is your thing.
If you don't use those Move controllers tho, they're still worth ebaying :)
Great price if you plan to get VR, so heat.
Edit: just realised you probably meant you have the v1 Ps4 cam and ps3 move controllers. Ignore my PSEye history note :{

179.99 buys you a real 4K bluray player, and just so happens to play upscaled Xbox One games too
ewen1605
Hodgey
This is an excellent price but I don't think it will play UHD (4K) Bluray discs,
It will upscale HD Bluray discs.
Heat added
Just had a look on the Sony website and sure enough it doesn't play UHD discs, just upscales normal Bluray to 4k.
£399 at Sony Centre as well oO
The Sony UBP-X800, which plays UHD Bluray discs and (just as importantly) Super Audio CDs is £329 at John Lewis including a two-year warranty. Be tempted, very tempted!! I certainly am. So many toys, so little cash.
Sixtyten
But this isn't an Ultra HD player, it's an audio focused £149 Blu-Ray player which upscales to 4K and which plays more currently available audio and video formats natively any games console. They aren't comparable.
Just what I'm lookin for. Bluray with good audio and SACD option. It's not available online

Edited By: wansheet on Jul 16, 2017 14:07
HI there is no such thing as upscaling it can't add in what is not there. All it can do is some processing and scale the image. You are not going to benefit in anyway by using this. Best to get an xbox and enjoy. They all and I do mean this all use the same chip for the UHD processing at the moment no matter what is says on the box. The only difference would be outputs and things like dolby vision etc. Though show me the large number of dolby vision discs ?
Please check out before arguing.....

I picked one of these up the other day, lots of tech demo's but not many full games yet full prices for demos.RE7 so far is the only one I have bought (have on PC too), possibly Star Trek game but looks a bit click heavy. Its such a shame all games just dont enable this, not sure how much work it entails ?Apparently Tomb Raider supports but I downloaded the demo and its jump normal no VR ?

You have to complete a small percentage of the story to unlock Blood Ties which is the vr mission based in Croft manor.
I'm a big fan of anything vr but to be honest i was a bit disappointed with it, only vr game ever to make me feel queasy for some reason and i've pretty much played them all without any issues.

None of the titles take my fancy. Its probably just me but they all look either cheap and tacky or expensive and probably not that good.
The star trek one looks good but I think it could get boring fast.
Have u played many VR titles? What would you recommend?
Resident Evil 7, there is a couple of demos on the store to try. The kitchen one is very short though, still scary!
Driving games? Driveclub VR, again there is a demo. There is also Dirt Rally, which is graphically superior, but a tougher game. But rewarding when you nail it!
Batman Arkham VR, people moan it's short, but it's great to play.. I mean you get to be Batman!
If you have Star Wars Battlefront, there's a free X-Wing mission. It looks really good and you get to fly an X-Wing!!
If you don't have Battlefront, there's a kinda similar space battle COD free game.
As already mentioned, Until Dawn: Rush of Blood great on rails shooter, but that's best played with the move controllers to be honest.
Totally agree about FarPoint, you need the Aim Controller, otherwise it's a pretty drab games.
Probably some others I've missed or not played yet. But I'm sure others can chip in with recommendations
Are any of those games/levels worth a £329 investment?
ScroopEgerton
Anyone know the cheapest place to get just the camera from though?

£20 second hand in Grainger Games.
Demo disc was corrupted but downloaded it from psn as well as a bunch of other stuff. Gonna play my way (bravely) through everything to get a feel for it all. Im amazed at the immersion of it. I fell off my real chair trying to lean on a VR table lol and after a stint of playing I took the headset off to then remember I was in my lounge lol Good stuff.

I would LOVE Battlefield in VR with a multidirectional treadmill thing. Would be exercise + gaming.

X-Wing game addon in Battlefront is EXCELLENT.

We bought one of these yesterday from our local Argos, ex display reduced to £410. Set it up this evening and experiencing problems with the picture/sound distorting for a few seconds every 20 mins or so! Downloaded and Installed the update but it hasn't made any difference. Tried unplugging it for 10 mins they powering it up again but this hasn't made any difference either. Shame because the tv itself is just what we were looking for.

The TV online info gives the TV date as Nov 2016 and the store said it has been on display for 6 months.
Will give the Argos support helpline on their website a call tomorrow to see what they say.
£500 in Carlisle. If it had been closer to this I might have bought it. But my techy mate hates his high end Sony.
You need to post INSTORE GLASGOW in the title.
It will have been switched on for 8 or more hours a day for the last YEAR and no warranty without paying a hefty fee
It's ex demo, 1 year warranty and only one of.

Halo, Gears of War and Forza are old and tired as hell franchises that are wheeled out time after time after time on Xbox. As a three generations xbox owner I am really enjoying the refreshing and much more varied selection of games on the PS4 Pro.

Sony is guilty enough of rehashing the few franchises its kept alive (and I say that as a Sony fan). Gears of War defined the "horde mode" and Halo's mechanics were so good, it effectively launched Destiny and kept it going.

Also Sony are guilty of "remastering" games at the moment for maximum profit (Crash, WipEout, Tomb Raider, TLOU etc) - In the early days, Games would sit in the top tend for weeks, simply because there was nothing new to push them out.

For those saying you need a 4K TV, you are wrong. You get better FPS on 1080p that makes a big difference in a lot of games also supersampling gives better detail on Pro Patched games but the extra USB port on the back (finally) is enough to warrant the purchase alone imo.
Voted cold though as I will not support anything Destiny after what they did with the first game and DLC launches.
If you care about graphics, get a PC.

I was just pointing out the upgrade from PS4 to PS4 Pro. I agree about graphics but It's difficult to build a PC to perform as well while gaming with the controllers at the same price point.

Yeah discrete gfx comparable to a 1080 as minimum with a cpu capable of some new gameplay ideas would be nice.
As much as I'm enjoying the current gen the gameplay isn't too much different from previous generations. Be nice to see improved A.I., physics simulations and thousands of npcs etc

Agreed.

Any opinion on 'Used - Good' from amazon warehouse?

Cheers
mamboboy
My 'Used - Very Good ' ones from the warehouse just turned up. Earpads did look a bit worn at first, but some anti bacterial wipes and they look as good as new now. No scratches at all despite the listing saying they had cosmetic imperfections. Fell in love with these cans when I tested them in John Lewis (incredible noise cancelling) so couldn't turn them down at £184.

Will you receive the 12-month warranty when buying from Amazon Warehouse?

Really tempted but I just don't want to throw 200 quids away if it cracks.

Edited By: DanyH on Jul 17, 2017 10:31: Jul 17, 2017 10:31
I bought these after getting through 3 pairs of Bose QC25s in less than a year. With the Bose they all developed the exact same fault, the right ear cup started to fail. I was so frustrated because when working I loved them. So I opted for these, not quite as light and comfortable as the bose, but near a year on they still work great and get used just as much. Their noise cancellation produces slightly more white noise hiss than the Bose but I think blocks out more of the noise I want cancelled, background office noise.

For those suffering the cracking issue, I've fortunately not experienced this and I wear these headphones all the time, in fact I'm wearing now! I wonder if the issue is batch related, but if Bose can't be reliable nor these, it's disgusting given their cost. The Bose issue is due to the right ear cup folding action when put into the case, at least that's my theory, some googling of the problem backed this idea up. My wife has a pair that still work great but she rarely puts them in the case and now I've advised her not to, the headphones have lasted 4 times longer than any of the 3 pairs I owned. Off topic but thought I'd mention.

Fantastic headphones. Great deal. Hope they don't crack.
Was going to buy these (for this price) at John Lewis recently but the cracking issue put me off and the way Sony treat their customers. Definitely better to get from John Lewis for the customer service, extended warranty, and i'd opt for the "accidental damage" extra because Sony are complete **** over the cracking problem.
Save over 100 quid and get the sennheiser 4.5s

they must be heavy though

I wouldn't say so. Ive used them while cycling and not noticed them to be heavy.
sprite127594
I got them just before prime day and they were at £146 so £117 with the warehouse 20% off. The build quality is awesome and so is the sound. Also very comfy to wear for long periods. Not had noise cancellation cans before but i read a lot of them you can only use when the noise cancellation is turned on. These still produce sound with it turned off. Very happy with them for the money.

they must be heavy though

Not so surprisingly, out of the tens of second-hand Platinum headsets available for sale a few minutes ago, now non are available. Be ready to see them for sale on eBay at a much higher price.

You can get a "Used - Very Good" Platinum headset for about £60 with the amazon prime 20% off warehouse deals, there are loads going for £76

that is really good. Looks like the very good have gone for now but I did see there is a used good one for £57 after the discount, which is pretty sweet when you consider it's below the RRP for the headset 2.0! Still I don't know if I would be happy buying a used headset, I'm not especially fussy and will buy used most things even controllers, but I'd have to draw the line at something you put that close to your ears. Still if I could find a new warehouse one (say just tatty box or something) that might be worth going for....
The second-hand platinum headset is an absolute steal for 60 quid.

Yeah only 'ok' for these really. Since the Platinum set came out they have barely ever gone for full price.

Personally much rather see a good deal on the Platinum ones which hardly ever seem to get discounted....

Has anyone tried to use the Sony claim cashback site? 3 times yesterday I got an 'Oops try again later' something wrong with the site message when trying to submit? This is in edge, maybe will try in IE.
Same issue tried today and it seems to be working for a Sony lense I purchased along the camera. I still have to receive a case number for the camera....
What model number is on your box? My invoice and box have different model numbers - though it is the correct item (A7 with kit lense)

Sony ILCE7KB is showing on the box so am picking that. Just trying it out again.

Got mine today. I went for the slightly more expensive "used - like new" ones, as I was worried about the quality of the returned product sold under 'used - very good'. Had a bad experience with this and dint want to mess up this prime day order, as they cant just replace like if you bought new (warehouse deals cant be replaced, only refund and repurchase). All the accessories and booklets still bagged. Headphones look in grade a condition. Had to reset back to factory as they were already paired. After that and a quick wipe down with anti-bac surface wipes already to go.

Noise cancelling works great. Silenced office noise, fans, and aircon. Outside drowns out car motor sounds and motorbike noise mostly. No creaking or cracks on mine as yet. Sound is balanced with strong mids, nice sharpness to the trebles. Bass is tightly controlled and not boomy. Feeling happy with mine so far.
Mine arrived. Have been using them for 24 hours now. So far so good. I can't tell these apart from brand new units. I guess this is luck of the draw though. Amazing sound cancelling tech, but as noted in some reviews it is somewhat directional. Nice and comfortable, which was my main gripe compared with the QC35. The Boses are definitely more comfortable, but the Sony isn't uncomfortable for me. Sound quality is nice. Clean and even, nothing really stands out. Probably could use a bit more bass.

In short: good deal at this price, so long as yours don't arrive beaten up and take good care of them to avoid cracking the hinges.
Just ordered some of these - went for the cream... :) Thanks for the heads up!
Can confirm, lovely new order done! With discount so still active!

I purchased an SSD from Amazon on their warehouse. I bought it on 15 July 2015. They accepted my return request on 20 Apr 2016.
Man, i find this out now...
Fml for not seeing this
Excellent. Tried none stop, constantly clicking on Like New and still couldn't grab one. ****.

What's the difference between this and a 4K TV? Still trying to understand the lingo.
4K has four times the resolution but at this size until you sit extremely close you wouldn't be able to see the difference
Sorry this is incorrect. I have a 49" 1080p bravia from a year back, and I got my dad to grab the 4k model bravia in the same size for just a bit more when he was looking -- suffice to say the 4k TV blows mine away with any 4k content. Especially for gaming etc where the content is more prevalent the difference is massive and you certainly don't need to be sat up close to tell.
I have a 50" Samsung 4K TV and a PS4 Pro. I don't see a massive difference like there was between standard definition and high definition. I do see a massive difference between BT Sport at HD and 4K, the 4K is stunning but BT Sport at HD seems particularly poor. With Netflix I can't tell if it is HD or 4K.

I'm talking PC gaming mate. There's only so many developers that are going to really make use of the PS4 Pro properly and even the best devs (like with Horizon Zero Dawn) are still a ways off the intricate details that a high-end PC can push out. I've seen a few shows on Amazon Prime that look really sharp and detailed in 4k, but obviously the difference is bound to be more for UHD blu-rays as at the end of the day it's all compressed with streaming and digital downloads

The difference isn't as big as SD was to HD but it does pretty much remove that last barrier that keeps things from seeming quite as detailed as real life. On a 1-10 scale of perceived detail I'd say SD is a 4, 720p a 7, 1080p an 8, and 4k a 10. Meaning as detailed as it's going to get with the exception of virtual and augmented reality (with vr glasses we'll probably go to 8k and then 16k), and perhaps 70"+ screens.

Big sale on VR games at the minute on the store for those interested
I ordered a like new one for £215.

Description said box might be damaged.

It came yesterday and box was nigh on perfect and SEALED - as was everything inside!!

A result - great find OP - thank you!

p.s. I had demoed it before and found some blurryness - but on my one and on adjusting position of headset (in my case screen lower than would normally expect ) vision was perfect! !!!

Of course graphics are a clear drop from PS4 but immersion is amazing
well my order was just cancelled as they dont have them in stock
Sent ours back, during the setup the headset kept switching off and console crashing.
Only problem is amazon rep wouldn't / can't give another 20% discount, only a refund.

One email later to amazon, and they've given me £40 off a new one. Currently £318, hoping amazon will match shopto this week.

Hi all, mine is due this evening. What do people recommend as the "must plays" on this? Also I have one move controller from my PS3, is having two essential? Thanks

Resident evil is mind blowing followed by until dawn rush of blood for horror games

Batman VR is like being the caped crusader

Harmonix, Rez infinite, perfect are all good for chilling out too

VR worlds is great if you can find it for under 20 quid as full price is too much

even the playroom VR is highly enjoyable especially with company, and on the store theres a big demo disc you can download with about a dozen trial games

One move controller is OK but you really want another to enjoy all games. I also have ps3 move controllers and camera incase youre worried they don't work as well

Yep. And FYI if it says damage to side of 'item' it's talking about the box not what's inside it

Android OS fast! PQ superb and no light bleed, march 2017 build
Got mine delivered today at 7:30am! Got it all set up and so far no complaints! Picture quality is fantastic and having upgraded to Android Nougat out of the box the UI seems to be fairly smooth with no noticeable lag. Hopefully the experience continues!
Miss out this deal but I manage to grab a near new with just box damage from Amazon warehouse that is 20% off the price making it £563 absolute bargain!

great deal for those willing to take a risk. I just don't buy TVs without some kind of warranty. shame I would have bought this in an instant!!
It does have a warranty

sorry, what I meant was, a 5 year warranty

I have this TV (bought earlier this year from RS ) specifically because parents wanted new kit & thought i'd see if a 'regular' 4K sony would still be as good as a others w.r.t a few things such as refresh rates, the Android OS (which i'd seen on previous brands and it was very, very slow), etc.. Thought it was a good way to test it out as parents don't really do much 4K & if things weren't fantastic it would still make a really good 1080p panel for regular content (the upscaling/matching from SD/HD on this i'd read was pretty sharp)
I have to say it is a ridiculously good TV .. !
The UI is actually pretty fluid - Android updates have come out which helped immeasurably, I have Kodi installed (which works really well), Picture quality is awesome.. really pops out.. Both with HD and 4K content via Netflix, so DareDevil, Iron Fist (eugh!), Unfortunate Events etc .. & it all held up really well.. so much so that i'm considering getting another one for the flat..
The only issue I had previously was due to WiFi intermittent connectivity, but that's more down to this TV being in a place at the edge of a range extender .. (WiFi Analyzer on the play store is damn good for profiling these things) .. moved it around a bit at the same time an update rolled out.. between the two of them i've not had any drop-outs for months..
I haven't tested hundreds of 4K TV's, and as such YMMV/Reviews will have a different angle (& potentially different bias) .. but from my personal experience it's a really good piece of kit..

Thanks for the info :) I'm thinking of getting a PS4 Pro for this. I've read that in some TVs the HDMI has to be put in a certain HDMI port for HDR - is the same true for this set? Also, I've got a Samsung surround sound - will this just go into the ARC port and can be controlled with the TV remote? TIA :)
