It’s on UKTV Play (which doesn’t detect AdGuard) if anyone doesn’t need to own/long-term license it.

This is worth watching for the character and performance of Bernard Hill as Yosser. RIP 5th May 2024.

They were dark days. I remember being on the picket lines defending our rights and freedoms. It was terrifying.
Bernard Hill was robbed of his BAFTA. Alec Guinness was ashamed to win it because he knew why he had won it.
A brilliant series. As relevant today as then.

I remember growing up in Liverpool back then
    Depressing times, but we survived.
Nice to see the city thriving now.
Lots of these places that were filmed have all gone now

This is of no interest to anyone but me. But yesterday someone said to me "Giz a job", and I thought oh, Yosser Hughes.... And then spent hours trying to think what the show was called... Then today this deal pops up....

RIP Yosser... a fantastic remark on the way the working class have been abused - very apt today too

IIRC there was an initial one off when they were on a new build site. Never seen it again…. Is this part of this? (edited)

I had never heard of this series before as I would have been too young to watch it when it came out. So I started watching the first episode yesterday and was trying to work out where I'd heard the main character's voice before. Of course, he is the narrator from old episodes of Thomas the Tank Engine. I'm liking the series so far.

That was Ringo Starr, the one narrating is the actor from Chrissie's story I think
