As said in the title! Buy a Sony 40" and upwards size TV from Amazon and you get £45 off a Sony Blu ray player. Just add both to your basket and the promotion will show just before you pay. So after you claim the £100 back from Sony, it's only £396.79 for a 40" Sony TV and a quality Sony blu ray player. If you want another size Sony TV, there are other promotions with blu ray players or a media player too.

OK, i forgot to add when you do pay at checkout it will be £496.79, but after cashback from Sony it's only £396.79, which is a total bargain!

I bought the same model from costco for £399.99 with 5 year gaurantee and £100 sony cashback on a pre-paid visa card.
  5. deleted110223's avatar
Yes, you can claim separate cashback on the PVR - the £85 discount is amazon led, and does not impact on any discount you can claim on specific items from Sony.

(same as if you combine with the 480 player, you can claim the harry potter 3d blu rays from Sony)

I was just comparing this TV to Samsung LE40D580, for a friend, to help him decide which one to go for, and in the end i chose this one!!!
and for an offer like this to crop up the next day.....freaky!!

heated, and will be highly recommending this to my friend :-p

Can the cashback still be claimed when "combined with another offer"?

Can you explain how this works - or has it finished ?
Can't see to get a bluray added for £45 and where is the cashback mentioned?

Also, what are the comments re a visa pre-pay card?????
EDIT. DOH - just noticed discount applied at 'Confirm Order' page. And also that the cashback is via pre-paid card. Note to self - read EVERYTHING on a page before engaging reply on this forum. Sorry folks.

I can't find the deal either. Must have finished?

The Visa pre-paid card is the way in which Sony give you the 100 pounds cashback. You can use it anywhere, until it's 'empty', as far as I understand it.
  22. deleted196078's avatar
    @jnobel

The offer is still on - you do not see the discount until right at the end of the process - a bit disconcerting but it is right at the end - the "Confirm" stage.

    Just ordered - thanks OP!

I think TV already has all the functions, except for BlueRay playback. So you are paying for the internet functions twice

Anyone actually receive their cash back? Mine still hasn't come and no I'm not ringing a 0845 number as I only have a mobile. If I don't get it soon I'm just going to return the tv for a refund.

You can also add the 500GB PVR instead of the bluray player for £234.99 less £85 discount.

This would mean a total of £595.79 less the £100 cashback.

I wonder if you can also then claim the £50 cashback from Sony that they are giving on the PVR,
at the same time as the £100 for the tv?

Which would give a net cost of £445.79 I think?

    Cheers for that.
So it's an extra £100 on top of the cost of the tv for the Sony PVR,
or should I go for the Humax Fox T2 refurb for £199?
  31. fmuk's avatar
Guys, I was looking at doing this when I bought the TV a few weeks ago. Amazon say you can't take advantage of both promotions, so you have to choose. Cashback obviously the better.
  32. fmuk's avatar
Hm, in that case I'll get in contact with amazon and try to get the player at the reduced price...
  33. fmuk's avatar
Have talked with Customer Service again who have promised me a £45 refund now I've ordered the player. Score.
    Thanks realblender. Wouldn't have known!

got the same TV from costco (was also available in JohnLewis for £20 more) for £420 + 5yrs warrenty. After cash back from sony, its worth to be £320.... Can really belive this is a deal

I think the best bet is to get the KDL40CX523 plus the Sony BDP480B.

Then looks like you can claim, the 2 harry potter films and £100 cashback(via visa)

Bought this tv a few weeks ago from Amazon, still haven't got round to getting the cash back form filled out. Did anyone's tv come with the proof of purchase? or do you just print it off the Amazon website?

I ordered this one via Amazon complete with the 500gb PVR. When the order dispatch confirmation emails came it showed the £85 discount for the PVR distributed across the two purchases, so I'm thinking if I send the PVR back unopened I'll end up with the TV for £289 after the Sony cashback!

Does this work or do they remove all the discount if the item is returned?
