  • We make our Virgin Oak the traditional way, using 100% local, Scottish ingredients, our own water and our own electricity
  • Our whisky is aged in 100% American Oak casks before being transferred to brand new, straight from the cooperage ‘virgin oak’ casks to finish for the last 9-12 months.
  • The result of this finish is a spicier, sweeter dram, with unexpected maturity for a younger whisky
  • Award winning Scotch: 2019 Singapore World Spirits Competition – Double Gold / 2019 International Spirits Challenge – Silver /2019 San Francisco World Spirit Competition – Silver / 2019 World Whisky Awards – Bronze 2019
  • Non-chillfiltered and natural colour gives our whisky an authentic character, colour and taste.
  • ‎46.3 Percent by Volume

Usually associated with American Whiskey, Virgin Oak breaks away from the traditional Scotch method of maturing and finishing the liquid in previously used casks. Virgin Oak is aged in 100% American Oak casks before being transferred to brand new, straight from the cooperage ‘Virgin Oak’ casks to finish for the last 9-12 months. The casks are sourced from Glaswegian, family run Kelvin Cooperage in Kentucky, Louisville who heavily char the casks before sending them to the maturation halls in Deanston Distillery. The result of this finish is a spicier, sweeter dram, with unexpected maturity for a younger whisky.

Great price. Received this as a gift a couple of years ago. It was better than I'd expected and for this price (similar to a supermarket own brand malt) it's a bargain. Not overly complex but an "easy drinking" enjoyable whisky to sip.
