this is one of my favourite NAS whiskies. definetly has a character, especially in mouth

thought I’d try and be helpful :) Only £1.50 more for the 12yo and it’s not just the age statement it’s honestly better.

Yeah this was in Sainsburys the other week at £25..very decent and intended as partial replacement for the 12 which is well worth the extra few quid.

Totally agree. This is on at £26 all the time at boothes if you’ve one near you. Not a patch on the 12 year.

Bowmore 15 Year Old Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky, 70cl at Amazon for £39.99
Posted 10 h, 30 m agoPosted 10 h, 30 m ago
This is one for those who can taste the difference

That's the per litre price.

Or you can just click the "one time purchase" button right above the "subscribe & save" one?

Just remember folks, amazon are now pulling this subscribe & Save listing crap to try to coax people into purchasing full priced products later down the line, but you can circumvent this by clicing on the "new" hyperlink in the product description to go to their sellers listing page, where you will find the amazon listing with an "add to cart" option at the subscribe & save price.. but no subscribe and save necessary. As for Bowmore 15? If it wasn't for the age statement I would argue it's overpriced even at £40 tbh, it's no better than the 12yr, and not even close to being up to Lagavulin 16yr standard (which is a cheaper dram). £40 is a cracking price though if you want to try it, so not sure why it's so cold. Here's an example

You’ve done yourself out of a hot deal here.

Where did CC at £112 come from!

The Glenlivet Captain's Reserve Single Malt Scotch Whisky, 70cl for £35 at Amazon

The Glenlivet Captain's Reserve Single Malt Scotch Whisky, 70cl for £35. Free delivery as well.

This is for me the best whisky I've ever tried. I found it at Tesco last year for £24 and took a punt. I think it was listed originally at £37 so at 35 is not too much of a discount and I'll not be buying. At that price I'll try something I've not had before.

Used to love their 10 year old whisky. This is actually pretty good for a cheap NAS, always pick a few bottles up when it drops to £18.

The best of the NAS under £22 imo but this is a standard price for it. Good value but no deal for me.

Quite interesting pricing on this. So, a 3rd. party on Amazon did sell it for £14 in 2018, but of course that may not have been free shipping. Amazon have had it bouncing around the £20 mark with the odd dip down to £17 in the last 12 months, I have set a 3Camel alert accordingly!

Never seen it £14. Cheapest was £16 with amazon about 2 and a half years ago.

Really, where? You can't really do much better for £20, good accessible whisky. If I can get a pointer to it at £14 I'll definitely grab a few.

Nah, not business practices, I'll always lead my decisions with my mouth and wallet - the former is so subjective so if anyone likes Jura's whiskies now then happy days, my personal taste finds Lidl's single malts better now

Just seen Jura Journey is also £22 at Morrison's. Half tempted to give Jura one last go, but worried I'll be disappointed.

What's the Jura French Oak like please anyone? Seen it in my local tescos for £30. Cheers.

Agree superstition was brilliant. Just finished another bottle that I had. Prophecy and Journey are not worth the money.

To be fair the older stuff is definitely better although I had been tremendously disappointed with their alleged heavily peated whisky, 'Prophecy'.

Me too

Cheers for this. Will give them a go.

Depends on budget but a couple of bottles that I really think hold their own against higher price whiskys: Aldi's Highland Select - 4 year old 40% - it's only £14.99 but I'd say it easily holds its own with bottles in the £20-£25 price range. Check out YouTube for a review from a channel called 'Matts Cigars and Whiskys' to get an idea of it. Cutty Sark Prohibition Edition - £23ish from Amazon - comes in at 50% ABV so really carries the flavour well, but doesn't have much alcohol burn. Non-chill filtered too, which is pretty cool at this price point. Nose and palate is massive toffee with a long spicy finish.

Can you recommend a couple of blended whiskey's? Just finished a bottle of green spot and I'm looking to branch out into something new

Seems to have been this price for a while now. Was posted a couple of weeks ago. £16 for single malt is very cheap, but when the marketing is saying its for mixing, then that is all it will be good for

Bargain then. I may try the same :)

I complained that it wasnt the new version as the pictures indicated and that it came very dusty and they refunded me 50% and said keep the bottle.

Which is annoying as the pics on Amazon make out that its 43%

Could tell it was a few years old. Old packaging and the new aberlour 16 is 43%.

Got mine today and it was very dusty so I assume it's been forgotten for a while! I was sure you could tell the year of bottling on it but can't be sure now?!

Like most of the bottom of the range NAS whiskies from the big distillers, it isn’t their best product. Definitely worth a few extra quid for the 10

LOVE the QC! Never tried the Select, but figured that the 10 and QC were the way to go.

Standard price for the select. spend a few quid more for the 10 yr old, failing that the quarter cask. IMO they are far superior.

Pretty good price for a nice whisky. Cheapest I have personally seen it :)

Crept??? Pernod Ricard about 2 years ago took the decision to increase the RRP by a smidge under 70% overnight (went from £48 RRP to £80 iirc)

couldn't agree more on this

and while A'Bunadh is lovely the price has really crept up over the last few years.

I'm guessing that was a spellcheck error and you meant A'Bunadh instead of Aberddac. I don't recall any versions of it getting up to 67% alcohol - pretty sure the strongest was 61.2%.

Morrisons have the 12 Yo for £28. Money better spent.

The coke adds flavour to this one. Bottle of weak pish

Rather pay the extra £5/£6 and get something much better like Glenmorangie 10...

I like only fresh ground pepper on my chips. If I like the taste of something it's my choice.

Whats the point of a single malt with cola? Just use a blended, Or use rum.

Lovely with cola.

I had this last night and compared with the glenlivet 12 year. I personally think there's nothing in it. Glen livet 12 year people, try it

I buy a couple of glenfarclas 105 litres when I am in Luxembourg for 29.99 euro. At that price it's a shame not to. A very tasty sherriesd dram and as you say a drop of water opens it up. Oh look here and cry at the prices

Agreed. I enjoy his comments about the NWO, ‘trends’ he keeps noticing and using single malt instead of currency to pay for goods and services. Keeps me entertained. It pretty much some up his whisky review scores too: I agree with some of it and don’t with others.

I found Aberfeldy 12 to be very 'meh'. Even for £25, it was distinctly average.

While i like Ralfys stuff, even he will say it's just one mans opinion. He disliked Aberfeldy 12 (which i admit is coloured and chill filtered) but for £25 i found it pleasant enough and enjoyed it. I held off buying it for ages cause of his review. He also really liked The Classic Laddie which i really did not enjoy.

Definitely not Ralfy's favourite though only 82/100...and considering that's for a ncf, non-E150 whisky, thats a less than average score.

Very smooth, sweet notes. GREAT whisky. Highly recommended.

It is perfect whisky for rookie, I've tried maybe 40 different whiskies so far and this one is high up on my list especially at this price!

Haha I litrally copied it from Amazon good catch, I should read before I posted but I didn't want someone to steal my deal (lol)

Decent deal. Can't say I've ever seen pale blue in the bottle though.

It's a nice wee nip, try it with one or two drips of water in it, the Flavour will change, Glenfiddich oak cask is another nice wee one,, heat added.

Get deal*Get deal*

I got this the last time it was posted for £28, then £1 more than the bottle on it's own, but would not buy again for £32 unless it was for a gift as the box set is very good.

I’m not as negative about this deal as some. Sure you can get a bottle of Laphroaig 10 on its own for less, but this would make a great gift

Thank you great find

Yes, as other have already posted for me Amazon has it for £30 without chocolates... whisky experts not cheap chocolate experts... If you want, buy the whisky here, £30, Laphroaig 10 Year Old Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky, 70 cl And buy the chocolates here, £1: Lindt Lindor Milk Chocolate Truffles Box - approx. 4 Balls, 50 g - The Perfect Gift or Treat - Chocolate Balls with a Smooth Melting Filling (lol) (lol) (lol)

So £30 is less than 32 .....chocolates are rank. All of the big four have it on cheaper than this at some point. It’s a disingenuous comparison as you can’t buy the chocolates in the shops ( not that I would want to) Some people get very touchy when someone on here calls into doubt their “deal” might be a bit meh (lol)
