    Erm... not quite.
The width of the tyre is 215. The /45 part is the profile of the tyre (the height of the sidewall)

I just checked, my last tyre specs were 205/40R17 84w so I don't think these are any good?

This would be changing the diameter of the tyre, so would not be recommended. I would consult an expert tyre shop to verify this.

FYI, the overall diameter would go up from 596mm to 634mm.

Ordered 2 however tempted to order another 2 and keep them in the garage however car doesn't really need new tyres although at this price you can't complain.

Eagle F1s are meant to be an all-year tyre, might be fine for a summer car but then the Toyo T1R is infinitely better as a performance tyre and is better in the wet in my experience. Both F1s and T1Rs are useless for the few days of snow we get though!I have tried Eagle F1s on both my 220bhp starlet and 185bhp a3 2.0 tdi but found them average on both, had much worse but had better.

Different cars suit different tyres depending on things like weight distribution and suspension geometry.I've never tried them on a front heavy front wheel drive car. But on my S2000 though they've been superb. I wouldn't dream of using it in the snow and in the wet to be fair either of the cars you have experience in would make mincemeat of me regardless of what tyre I'm on. But just because they didn't suit your two cars doesn't discount the overwhelmingly positive feedback they receive from the rest of the motoring world.

Thats an amazing price. Budget tyres normally cost this. Good find!

had a set of these last time on the old Scooby. Not bad, prefered the Bridgestone but at this price I'd be tempted. the coating on new tyres however is much slippier than other manufacturors. No grip at all for the first couple of miles.

If you've had anything delivered with prime which took more than a day you can email them and get another month for free. I've just got 2 months added. Also I think you can get prime monthly now.

Are these any good on an Astra J 1.7CDTi? Or do they have to be re-inforced? Standard tyres are 225/50/17s

As an all rounder? Yes. The F1 is more a performance tyre while the Uniroyal is really a wet weather tyre and more comparable to the efficient grip Goodyears.

They have generally been around this price though, about £60 for a while. Tyre Leader has it for a little more.

make sure u check the fitted price in these exact tyres elsewhere . most garages will charge u around £10 to fit, balance & a new valve .making them close the £69 fitted.

I run these on the front of my car (along with the 245/40/17 on the rear) awesome tyre for mixed weather conditions. They're still a summer tyre so not perfect once road temps get much below what they are at the minute but were a massive improvement over the Bridgestone Potenza RE050 I had on before.

It did come at the cost of some of feel in the dry, sidewall on these is a tad soft but it's worth that slight drop off for not having to tip toe in the wet.
