Currys reduced the pixel 7a also to £329, but have £75 enhanced trade in, and may offer more for your handset than JL, plus, some can get 6 - 8% in works vouchers, so this may actually work out better for some if in the market for this device, an alternative to the JL deal

So trade in your device (Preferably in store) And receive an extra £75

Example, trading in a pixel 6 at currys will get you £165 (£90 for device + £75 enhanced) = Final price £164 (With 8% works voucher converted final price of £150)
At John Lewis it's £229 with code + £55 if you wanted to trade in your Pixel 6 = Final price £174
this is just one example, there may be more

Bit more work to get your discount with Currys, but worth it for some

The Google Tensor G2 processor in this Pixel 7a packs a punch. It gives you amazing performance, helpful features and high photo and video quality. What is my pixel 6a worth if I trade it in to Currys ? I've only just had it a year so it's in mint condition...

Is it worth the upgrade to pixel 7a ???

I have a pixel 6 with a smashed screen but charges and turns on. What's the criteria for trade in condition

You can trade in a "Faulty" phone if:
    • It isn't fully funtional.
    • It's slightly damaged or cracked. The screen has bleeding or is discoloured.
    • It isn't modified, jailbroken or rooted.
You can't trade in a "Faulty" phone if:
    • It doesn't power on.
    • It has liquid damage.
    • It's missing parts.
    • Its battery is swollen.
    • It's modified, jailbroken or rooted.
    • It's over 7 years old.

Looks like you will get £30 for it + £75 enhanced trade in

I still don’t see the deal here. You could buy this from JL (assuming its honoured) then trade in the phone to curry’s (Instore for a voucher or online for bank transfer).

So, from JL based on the example it would be £229 - £90 = £139.
And you could also get JL giftcards via work.

The in store option is the best option, then you can use the gift card to reduce the price of the phone there and then, doing it the way you say, means ending up with a £90 gift card for Currys, online is a PITA

Cardyard can save you 7% when available.
At time of posting, they only have a £1500 card for £1395

Just thinking I have a Poco X3 NFC says it will give me £1 as it's not a listed device to sell + id still £75 so £76.
So if I buy a cheap brand new phone from my local Asda for £15. Would I still get £76? I can then sell my Poco X3 to phone bank for £60. I'd then have £60 + £76. = £136 then minus the £15 =£121
    So will get the deal for £208 (£329 - £121 = £208)
Do you think Currys will do this?

Are these locked down in any way to prevent adding Graphene? Might be fun to play with a clean and google free OS

Second that, anyone got one? Is OEM unlock greyed out in Developer options?

For those who have made the change, would you consider a £164 premium to go from Pixel 6 to Pixel 7a, in the words of Flossy Carter, a 'Go'?
  14. itlotb's avatar
When you do the online trade in do you have to wait for some sort of approval code before you buy the new handset?

Decent deal since the John Lewis saga this morning ended in disappointment for me. I took my pixel 2 into a currys today and when they tried putting it through the system it wouldn't let them accept the trade in, despite it offering £14 online. The staff said maybe their system was bugged and suggested I go back tomorrow

Is it not worth keeping the Pixel 2 for the Unlimited storage?
  16. tom6195's avatar
Does anyone know if currys would accept a xiaomi note 8t? Or an iphone 5?
  17. Angel21's avatar
When you go through to the curry's website, there is a trade in page.If your device is accepted it will be listed there

I bought the previous pixel 7a deal with the ID sim and I cannot get Google wallet to work. I've tried 3 cards and all come up with the same error. Can anyone help? I've a few days before I my return period ends and I'm very tempted to just return it as it is a deal breaking feature for me.

Anyone have one, but put off by the overheating, battery and small storage.
Currently have a Xiaomi Poco X3 NFC that I bought a few years ago which was £175 and has a lot of specs that beat the Pixel 7A. Any other alternatives around the same price don't mind buying refurbished from Giffgaff but need a quality camera, battery that lasts a day. Thanks

After the the JL f**karound went for this -

Went into the store - no messing around. Got £60 for my beloved Mate 20 Pro and £75 Enhanced trade in knocked off the purchase price immediately - paid £194
