If you sell the camera your registration is locked to the camera and cannot be removed.
None of this is made clear at point of sale or in any review I watched or read for some reason. Seems pretty controlling to me and put me off getting one (my phone is android 8.1 anyway and no need for a new one) besides that it's a good gopro alternative if you are OK with this. Just do your research before you buy.
