Safer to go for honor tablet. Pretty much same company but excluded from all this bans and nonsense. China already knows everything about you from your tiktok habits anyway LoL

Honor is usually slightly worse than Huawei spec wise

I know Google services are blocked on this. Is it possible to use OneNote? If so, are there any issues?? Would like to use this for taking notes at work to save paper in the long run.

if you are after note taking then I would suggest a second hand ipad with 2nd gen apple pencil, the tracking is miles better than Huawei, writing feels a lot more natural and software support are better

Thanks op. Bought it, apps can be loaded from other markets too.

Not all apps are equal without Google services. You can hack around and get most stuff working one way or another but buyer beware. If you want an out of the box Google apps centric experience then this tablet is not for you (I had a Huawei tablet for 6 months or so but never again). But cost/benefit and use cases with some research may make this tablet hot for others.

Matepad pro 10.8 2019 is still best cheap tablets you can buy right now and has flagship Kirin 990 (7 nm+) chip and used one in decent condition cost around £110 to £150

Have always been a fan of Huawei. Unfortunately as I need Google Services for most of my work tasks and banking life I have had to revert away from them. Good deal but went for the Honor pad 9 deal that was advertise on here few days ago. You get keyboard, extra flip case, and the x6 head phones for 299.99 early bird deal. It's 8gb with 256gb hdd. Specs shows 8gb ram +8gb turbo so essentially 16gb ram (edited)

I agree. Looks really interesting. Has anyone had any experience with it?

Can you add a sim card
    CrazyPogo's avatar
Not sure why people are laughing at this rather than replying to it? I've a cheapo tablet with WiFi + SIM card slot for data. So why this wouldn't I don't know. I'm guessing it's a no though.

    Nope

I'd there a way to get Google play store and use the apps I already have on my phone on it? Like the look of this and have a Huawei laptop, but useless if I can't get the apps I need. Just wondered if anyone has experience of it.
    ciaranmcw92's avatar
You can install the play store yes, YouTube will have plenty guides in it.

I don't believe all apps work in terms or banking or some official Google ones, but majority will.

Anyone got on of these yet ? Looks like a great deal just wondering how it performs in real life.

This manufacturer became big purely on the back of stealing tech from other established companies. Without any research and development equals big profits. People used to say they were very poor on things like firmware updates and security because they simply didn't have the expertise, but that was a while ago things might have changed now they've got some serious money.

    Huawei?
    Really?
They literally have a town, campus and university to raise all the engineers!
The bannis purely to stop them from taking over as they were growing fast!
Even today they are one of the most innovative companies in the world. Patent war and ban slowed them down on the world market but they dominate the China market which is one of the biggest in the world
