Agree with all the comments - this is an absolute SCAM from Indesit, and the 10 year bit is always in HUGE font - Miele is a different class as their machines DO last - had one for 15 years with no problems!
Are you suggesting that the apparent inherent reliability of a device manufactured in 2000 will be carried forward to any manufacturers' 2015 model line?
Think that most buyers would benefit from stepping back from perceived reliability and look at the practicals. Would a buyer rather pay a premium price for an item that is potentially unlikely to have issues but may (i.e. be unlucky) and then have to pay for equally premium-cost repairs, or pay a smaller upfront fee and a later small ongoing fee knowing that no matter what, any issues would be covered?
My usual approach to buying white goods is to compare the initial cost per warranted year, then look a the likely cost of subsequent breakdown cover compared to selling-on and replacement. For example:
a £500 washer with 5 year warranty is equiv of £100 per warranted year.
If I chose to retain the washer from start of year 6, I may be able to purchase breakdown cover for £72 / year.
Or I could sell at the end of the 5 year period for say £50, and offset that against a new warranted machine, bring my total ownership costs for the original machine down to £90 for each warranted year.
If I saw a particularly good deal for a replacement washer during say the final warranted year, I could achieve a higher selling price for the older device as it would have some attractive warranty left on it for the new owner (assuming warranty is transferable).
Using this approach, buying say an entry-level £300 washer with only 12m warranty leaves too much to chance without spending more inc additional warranty over an arbitrary 5 year period (£300 + 4x£72) than buying a higher-spec'd model with greater inclusive purchase warranty from the outset.
The only issue then is the tolerance of the inconvenience involved with any repair(s).
Juggle the permutations to suit your budget / requirements, but simply buying a brand on the basis of perceived likely reliability with nothing to fall back on if the unfortunate happens, is potentially leaving yourself open to significant cost and inconvenience.
The concrete block on top of our indesit washing machine disintegrated within 5 months, when the engineer came out he said it was a common problem, he said it would take around 4-6 weeks for the parts to arrive. Luckily we had purchased it from Co-op who agreed to take it back and exchange it for a different brand. Avoid at all costs.

If you are a heavy user of the washing machine like me (Big family) then just pay £6 a month insurance to Hotpoint. They cover other makes too. It is worth every penny and i have had them out 3 times in the last 2 years on my 4-5 year old washer. The last time they stripped it out (Drum, Weights, Motor) and replaced them. They say next time they will just replace the whole washer with a new one :)
How long have you been paying the £6 a month for?

About 2 and a half years.

Cheapest miele slimline is £579. Think I would opt for a cheaper brand with a 5 year guarantee tagged on.
Did the neighbours crack up at the sight of you kicking and swearing at your dishwasher !!
I bought a second-hand Servis dishwasher about 30yrs. ago. It packed up after about 25yrs. I then bought a full sized Indesit for £199 to replace it. This was repaired 3 times in less than 12 months. On one occasion I finished work early to be home for 12.30pm. for my 1pm.-5pm appointment, only to find a "sorry we missed you" card. When calling them, they couldn't care less and and said no engineer in the area for another week, even though he had been missed by five minutes he couldn't turn around. After much complaining, they extended the guarantee to 15 months. It failed again at 13 months. When I called, they could find no record of the extended guarantee and I couldn't find the letter to prove it (middle of a divorce). I then took the said machine outside and kicked the living s%%t out of it. It made me feel much better.
I am now living with a MIele which cost £480 with a free 5 year guarantee which I have yet to call on.
It holds more due to its design, it cleans better and it is so much quieter it is untrue.
