Score 64% (just 2% short of 'Best Buy' status... highest scoring TV... Samsung UE55D8000... only got 76%)

Pros: Good HD pictures, useful EPG, decent sound

Cons: Average SD pictures, lacks advanced features... there's no USB video recording, no internet connectivity and no 3D. It does, however, have a single USB port which will show Jpeg photos and play MP3 audio files and Mpeg-2, DivX and WMV video files

Much better TV than the usual dross at the budget end of the 40" to 42" TV market.

Does anyone know if i download tv programmes, can i just transfer them to … Does anyone know if i download tv programmes, can i just transfer them to USB and stick them on this tv or will it not work as simple as that?

I bought this in March from ebuyer for £329 & I am absolutely DELIGHTED with the results.

I was planning on getting a seperate media player for my files on my external HD, but to be honest, it plays about 90% of stuff Ive thrown at it so far.

The user interface/menu for playback from USB or ext HD is impressive. Its like it has its own built-in media player.

    Just my opinion.

Anyone know how energy efficient theses TVs are ? Getting very conscious a big TV can be on for hours a day, even more in winter, are they rated like other appliances ? Electricity prices just keep rising.

    From Which? review...

"The 42LK450U uses 124.2W with its settings as delivered. However, the TV has a light-sensor and automatic brightness control with a useful working range, and with the Energy Saving Medium setting enabled we got power consumption down to a reasonable 72.2W".

I bought this TV a couple of months ago from Richer Sounds (with five years warranty) for £385. All I can say is this TV is awesome! I'm very happy with the TV, just a little sad seeing the price it is now :-)

The first TV I bought (May 9th), (Cello 47" 3D TV) I was told was out of stock on the day after it was to arrive (18th May), I was pretty annoyed. They offered 10% on any TV so I changed my order to the DOTD, that was last Friday 19th, told me I would get a phone call on Monday 21st, after about seriously, 3 phonecalls a day later, I had been told I would be getting confirmation the next day etc etc, and I have finally been told it is being shipped to Ireland tomorrow. There's the main customer services, the furniture dept., and the delivery team and communication between them all is terrible, the amount of times I had to repeat myself I could have smashed my head through the phone. Tempted a few times just to cancel the whole thing. Wouldn't be surprised if they said the other TV was out of stock now too...

When you are looking at TVs like this and any other TV really, how do you know which TVs have overscan and which don't? My last TV I had there was a feature to turn it off, my current one cannot be turned off and in turn you lose part of the image all the way round. If i do upgrade my TV i want to know that I have the option to turn overscan off but i don't know if there is a fancy term for it or is that information even available on websites?

I played around with mine quite a lot - it has quite a few 'screen ratio' settings if thats what you mean by 'overscan'? Once I got the rights settings on my Sky box, the TV settings were 2-3 clicks....and done
