How good is the HDR on this?

It's low to mid range at most. HDR won't be brilliant. That said I was in Currys this morning and saw high end Oled but also the ur7800 lg at 75 inch and it looked good enough. Also saw the hisense A6k which is budget and I was surprised how good it looked. Just had brighter edges which was noticeable more on football. My budget TCL does that too and annoys me sometimes 😄 (edited)

I have this TV at 55". It's a decent TV for the money. Nothing wrong with picture quality on HD and online content. SD programmes are pretty good as well. Can't fault SD movies.

My TV is in the bedroom coupled with some cheap Miix headphones, £20 from B&M. I can't fault the sound with these.

The only thing that lets it down is the menu system is slow. LG should be embarrassed at how slow it is and whirling symbols for loading the TV guide shouldn't be something we see today. Text size could do to be bigger. Once it's loaded it's fine. HDD turns it into a PVR.

I recommend this TV and pleased I bought it.

I have a 2022 previous model 50 inch. The OS it shipped with was fast and snappy. But I agree, with the recent updates it has become slow and the whirling symbols waiting for menus to load is very annoying.

Probably fixed with a Fire stick or similar.

I bought the 65" version of this LG.

According to reviews, the LG was said to be a bit better than the CU71.

I bought this last month from Costco for £540. Wonder if they will refund me the difference?

i have LG B9 55 i use in the bedroom but looking for a bigger screen for living room for the big blockbuster movies would this do the job? other option was a projector but the blacks are really poor on them.
    heathead's avatar
This would be a big step down in picture quality from a B9, one that you'll probably notice, especially on a big screen like this.

I'd rather drop down a size or two to gain a better picture or at least look into a cheaper brand with better spec's, however at 70" I think your choices will be limited. (edited)
