Camera is crap on this phone, my 5800, k610i and xperia play camera were all better
fancy going back to your 5800, k610i phones?

Hmm, I could get a used S3 for around the same price or a new Blackberry Z10 for £150. Either of those or the 16gb version of this? Please dont just say the berry's cr*p without looking at the awesome specs for the money - I'd rather not have to mess around loading the android apps via alternative sites but it's one hell of a phone for the price - I'd never even have contemplated one of these until my friend told me he's running android apps through it.

I've had mine for about a month now and suddenly it has become really slow. Previously was operating with around 400mb of RAM free which has halved overnight without having any extra apps installed. I've cleared the cache and uninstalled some stuff. Any ideas?

out of interest are u on ovivo beacause i had same problem with my htc desire when i put my ovivo sim in now with my moto 2 weeks later i am having same probs as u with 1 app installed and cache clearing

Has anyone swapped their Nexus 4 for this one? If so what is your experience compared to Nexus 4?

I'm not sure why anyone would, this has a faster CPU, but only half the ram of the Nexus 4, the Nexus 4 also has NFC and DC-HSDPA which means you can get up to 42Mb broadband speed on compatible networks, which is good enough. N4 has better camera and 1080p recording and a better GPU than the Moto G.

There's no way I'd sell my N4 and buy this, but it's still the best phone for the money.

In my opinion the N4 is the better phone.

The battery on the Moto G blows the Nexus 4 out of the water. I swapped mine (for a profit) as I work outdoors and was fed up with running out of power towards the end of the day.

I can live with the battery life on my N4. I use Battery Saver and get down to 30-50% each day, so I charge each evening but usually it's fine for me. Also the custom ROM support on the N4 is far superior to the Moto G currently. The Moto G is a brilliant phone for the money. The N4 camera isn't great but I couldn't live with anything less and the Moto G camera won't be as good. I use the camera for CamScans and work related photos where I use the macro mode. N4 wins for me the Moto G would be a slight downgrade and not worth the effort to change anyway.

If anyone is reading this and use stock N4 rom then I recommend this ROM (there is a stock kernel version available as well from the same developer if you prefer stock kernel), I use that ROM and regularly update to the latest version, just going to update to 2.7 today >

I came from a Nexus 4 to a Moto G and I honestly think the Moto G is superior in every aspect except for the camera, and even in the camera department it's a close shave. I can get more than DOUBLE the battery on the Moto G stock compared to an N4, and that's with the screen being at a brighter rate than the N4. I literally ran the Moto G 3 days straight with one charge and I used the phone every few hours daily for things like Feedly, Twitter, Instagram and a few phone calls/texts. But the main thing is the price, for £99 it's a steal, I can't believe how good of a phone it is for that price point. the build quality is also fantastic.
And some Americans are reporting that KitKat makes the battery EVEN better, looking forward to that.

the s3 is a lot better than this, i would hapily swap a moto g for an s3. the moto G has better battery life and better updates i suppose. those are the only two things the G has over the S3. im not too sure what you mean regarding loading apps.

for those that care, there is also a 1-click flash tool that flashes the stock retail rom over the tesco rom, available over at Modaco. this wont unlock your phone for other netwrks, you still have to do that seperatley. it also doesnt trigger any flash counters.

Got my upgrade to KitKat yesterday. Did not know what it was at first. It was just a little triangle symbol that popped up where a text message received symbol would be at the top letting me know my update was available.

On my phone now is a HP print service plugin that I am unable to delete.

Lots of people on here looking for codes but I just checked on Quidco. I know it's not guaranteed but it looks as if you may be able to get £20 cashback. I searched for Tesco and there were the irrelevant offers, but below that was ' cashback also available at ' and in the list was Tesco Phone Shop. Clicking on that brought up several offers including £20 cashback for all other handset sales ! I have ordered a 16gb Moto G and I am now waiting to see if it tracks.

Hoping Amazon will eventually price match so I can use my gift vouchers. Great looking phone, definitely what I'll be getting next.

    Will be interesting if it does, as - and correct me if I'm wrong - Tesco Phone Shop is different from the Tesco Direct site, and they don't have it in stock, whereas this deal is being sold by Tesco Direct :{

Has the £20 been pulled? All the cashback rates now are for pay monthly handsets or SIMO contracts.

How does this compare to the iPhone 3GS?

It's been a while since I used an android phone, what's good about kitkat?

Now, I and the wife both have iPhones and I have iPad. Currently these are all on the same account so share settings, they share photos, calendars, notes, reminders etc. can this be done on android or will I need to download certain apps to do this for each thing?

I'm guessing I could use google calendar and that would synch with iPad, but what about notes? Photo sharing etc?
Is there a similar app to where's my iPhone for android

Just some info for people buying the Moto G...

Bought 2x in Dec, really happy with both.

Got both unlocked from the mnz guy on ebay for £2 and worked a treat.

They are not Tesco branded, but do have a slightly different rom to the standard moto G's although the only diff I can perceive is i think it says tesco in the about phone part by the rom version somewhere.

I bought a S Line case from Ebay and it's really good (jelly case).

Also finally the screen protectors with the above case are pants so I'd recommend buying the TuffSkinz protector from Amazon.
I bought the matte one and it's really nice, recommend using the method 2 for fitting.
These were £1 for 2x when I bought them, but up to about £3 now.....still well worth it IMO.

    Hope this helps.
