I think you need to make it clear these movies are ONLY rentals as (since no mention of rental is made) the thread suggests you can buy them for that price but you can't, on that page on play it clearly says "Titles to rent from 99p"

Not a bad deal still but with services like Netflix rentals just don't offer value for money any more IMHO even at this kind of pricing...

    Overrated piffle

Shocking bad use of the word 'piffle'. If anything, the Raid movies are the antithesis of flowery kung-fu MA movies.

Let me suggest that you just call everything you don't like overrated piffle, and don't actually know what you're talking about.

You can watch/download these on the iPad/iphone through the Google Play Movies App - in case anyone wasn't aware. However you still have to buy through Google Play.

Unless of course you're a bit busier and only get round to watching a film once every 3 months - in which case you're literally paying month for nothing with Netflix. "Oh but just in case". Okay I'll go buy a grand piano - you know 'just in case' I start learning the piano to master level. Oh and then buy a holiday home in France - 'just in case' I fancy spending a couple of months there every Summer.

When you click on the individual movie it gives the option to buy from 99p or £1.49 HD

I think you need to make it clear that you ONLY gave the list a cursory glance, and didn't check your facts. The list I originally posted was the movies available to buy for £1.49 or under, NOT to rent.

However, a mod has edited the list so that it now contains both movies to buy AND movies to rent. Despite this, around 50% of them are still available to buy at this price, not rent.

I understand that the mod-edited list has caused confusion, but it's still no excuse for your laziness and assumption.

I saw after posting that SOME are available to buy at a reduced price too but I maintain there are some that are only available to rent at the reduced price so it isn't universal across all the movies as the thread initially indicated. Anyway, I wasn't entirely right, I admit but there is no need to be rude about it.

You could say that the description on the page isn't entirely right either as it does say "Titles to rent from 99p" while as stated many can be bought cheap too, so why not go on there and have a moan at Google too, I'm sure they will be extremely interested... (_;)

Not all of them have subtitles, if you are interested to find out if it does or not scroll down and it'll tell you if it has subtitles.

What's the quality of these files like? How much compression is involved? File size?
  24. martinmarv's avatar
I would guess that Google have made a mistake here, and meant to cut the HD rental price, but instead cut the HD sale price. Works out well for us - picked 8 films, thanks OP

Quality of HD versions is generally pretty good, file size around 1.5GB - 2GB per film

Much like the first one, it was overrated nonsense. (or piffle in other words) Then again although I've watched it, seeing as 'I don't actually know what I'm talking about' I'm not allowed an opinion. (_;)
