Good price with a modern decent game

Just got this on Saturday. Scan were absolutely fantastic. Ordered 5.30PM Friday, received 8am Saturday.

Great card so far, kills Borderlands 2. However, Battlefield 3 was giving me white snow spots all over the screen. Not sure why...

Excellent cards the HD 7850's at this price with a decent game is an absolute bargain. Nothing from Nvidia can even compete at this level of bang for buck. Overclock these with latest drivers and they surpass GTX 660 ti performance due to larger memory buffer.

    Voted hot.

Is this much better than a 560ti?

I honestly didn't know the price was so hot when I bought it. Happier now!

I didn't actually receive the free code to download Far Cry 3. I contacted SCAN today, and they said they will email me.

Yeah it is, it's 570 levels at stock and hits 580 when overclocked.

I'm also interested in this, not sure if it's worth upgrading from a GTX 560 ti as I've heard that it's actually more powerful than the 660 ti... this and the Nvidia drivers are slightly better- Regarding the upcoming price drops for the 7950 and the non ti 660 is this an effective upgrade?

I noticed the benchmarks were actually lower on a couple of games including Battlefield 3, once it's overclocked would it be better? Those Skyrim benchmarks are really tempting.

I'm a bit out of the loop with PC tech currently also, but those figures are based on a core clock of 860mhz and this one is at 950 afaik so should have a decent bump in numbers. Really it comes down to you personally if you feel the approximate improvement fromthat link is justifiable or necessary, I'd imagine a 560ti is still running games fine.

You do not NEED an Nvidia card to experience PhysX

I have an MSI 7850 1GB and i'd be disappointed with the card if I paid £160 for it. It's good enough but can't handle SSAO or Ultra quality shadows on any recent game i've tried so don't expect to be using ENB and getting 60 fps. Mine doesn't overclock well either, only able to push an extra 2-3 fps out of it before the coil squeel becomes unbearable. Oh and don't forget that AMD drivers are complete ****. The latest drivers since 12.8 and above managed to break what they fixed with 12.3 and 12.4. So the new drivers offer an extra 15% performance but expect lots of flickering and artifacts in your games.

I wouldn't recommend spending over £100 on an AMD card and my past 3 cards have been AMD.

A reference speed 1GB 7850 is no comparison to this power edition 2GB card

Have you tried upping the voltage for your overclock?

As for the drivers never had a problem myself, clean install of it and if it still persists it's not the drivers that are at fault.

He's obviously saved money and bought a reference speed card assuming it would be faster, he should have bought this one
