OK, so i have been back to GAME Western Rd, Brighton and they have 3 left.
I spoke to the manager and he said that it is not store specific but those stores that had run out of stock would not have the deal (obviously).
Apparently the deal has actually been on since the beginning of this week and it is also definitely new not pre-owned.
see attached photo i took instore.
    hope this helps.

The PS3 seems like a next-gen console with all its integrated features and Blu-ray and FREE online play.I play on the 360 a lot but thats only because of how I get my games. Any decent game I would buy for the PS3 only, its just a great reliable console.

The reason why XBL is paid for, and PSN(SEN) is free, is because far more development goes into XBL. It is far more usable, has far more functionality, and is way more polished.

In a way, PSN has to be free. Because if it were charged for, people like me with both consoles would only ever pay for one service - and it would be the far superior XBL. And for that reason I would never ever buy a PS3.

The fact is, I'd rather pay for steak, than eat kebab out the takeaway bins for free.

PS3 has been just as unreliable as 360. YLOD and RROD are both horrendous and are inexcusable. The big difference is that MS extended warranties to cover the RROD. Sony made money out of selling customers refurbed PS3's (IE fixing the ylod then selling them back to them for £110-£160).

The other difference, is if your PS3 died with ylod, kiss everything on your hard drive goodbye. if your 360 died with rrod, just swap your hard drive over, 10 seconds and all sorted.

True, the PS3 does have blu-ray. And the ability to copy your media to the PS3 Hard drive is miles better than the crappy 360 media player. But I don't really need it to be a media player (I have a media player to do that, thats much better than the PS3), and blu-ray is great for films, but the reason games have such long install routines is because blu-ray is very slow compared to DVD and its essential to make games loading times even remotely bearable. Given a choice of a 45 minute wait on installs, or a 10 second change of discs probably two or three times, the answer on which is fastest is obvious.

Both are great consoles, but just do things a little differently. Unfortunately fanboyism will always be a problem, and I have no idea why people are so insistent of rushing, foaming at the mouth, to defend their precious at any opportunity.

Game has hone into administration lots of cheap consoles instore whilst … Game has hone into administration lots of cheap consoles instore whilst they last

Unless you know different, they have put themselves up for sale to AVOID administration. However, there are a lot of (as far as Im aware) false comments on here:

    - GAME and Gamestation may be owned by the same group but (AFAIK) they are SEPARATE entities, meaning that the loss of one does not have to affect the other.

    - Adminstration is NOT the same as LIQUIDATION, administration seeks to keep the company going in some form, liquidation sells everything to pay bills etc.

Basically, its a worry, but its not yet the end of the world for GAME

****, was in that store yesterday but didn't think to look at the new stuff. I asked someone in Gamestation if they were likely to reduce any new consoles, and they said definitely not as the profit margins were so slim already.

Looks like they've just got slimmer...

Again, the PS3 exclusives are undeniably good (although GT5 was a let down imho) and are pretty much the reason why I bought a PS3. But they don't necessarily make it a better console.

There is no 'better' console. Just preference. I prefer the xbox primarily as XBL is a metric mile above PSN in terms of functionality and usability. But if you enjoy playing with yourself (fnarr) then the choice is less obvious.

Store's about to go bust and the 50% (off RRP) signs last seen in Borders and Woolworths are about to be wheeled in. Ah thats a shame.. £150 is a bargain for a PS3 with a UC3. Plus there are more than few stellar exclusives that cant be found anywhere else. Uncharted 1-3, Demon Souls, Gran Turismo 5, God of War 3 (plus spinoff/prequel games), Heavy Rain, Metal Gear Solid 4, Infamous, Killzone, Yakuza 3&4, ICO and Shadows of The Colossus which can all be picked up pretty cheap now.

Also; The Last of Us, The Last Guardian and Final Fantasy 13 Verses coming out in the not so distant future.

So I've been to 7 different stores since Friday, as I just happened to be all over the place.. The pricing is wildly different! I picked up Killzone 2 for 48p in Chatham, it was £2.98 at Bluewater, and £4.98 in Worthing. Pre-owned PSP's were £30 and in stock in Worthing, whereas they were still £59.99 in Chatham. 800MSP was still £6.99 at all.. Definitely worth shopping around if you have the opportunity.. All in all I picked up 17 games spread accross PS3 and X360, 8 of which were special editions in near perfect condition, and I spent £31 all in..

Just to wade in on the PS3 Vs Xbox thing though, I bought the PS1, PS2, and PS3 on the day of release, I'm a total Sony nut. But honestly, the X360 is a better console to live with, hands down. The interface is better, the £2 per month I average on Live each month is less than I spend on lunch in a single day, and it's worth owning just so as not to have those ridiculous 10 minute (or 45 minute in the case of GT5) installs before you can play your new game. And then the games still don't run any smoother than the 360 running them from the disc.

I love both, but if I could only have one, it'd be the X360.

I am a pc man and the 360 exclusives and live just feel and work like a budget pc and its exclusives match this, where as the ps3 fellls like a console. Its exlusives border more on action advententure which are suited for consoles.I would much rather install then have to switch between 3 discs like rage on the 360. also the less it reads from disc the longer the disc drive laser lasts. Most developers recomend installs as it helps the reliability of games and easier to patch them as a slight bit of dirt on the disc will freeze the game (my xbox does this alot).non instaling is a nightmare on the 360 and developers hate it, but microsoft made it mandatory. The reliability and speed of harddisks over optical media is a must for big games.

Yes it does. The only console that can read the data on a PS3 formatted hard drive, is the console that formatted it. If your PS3 goes YLOD and you don't get it repaired (either the repair fails, or you don't want to invalidate your warranty so send it to sony, etc) then your hard drive can NOT be recovered. That is fact, and I've experienced it myself.

Wow, well done, you did a temporary fix that probably involved taking a heat gun to your gpu. You can fix the RROD in exactly the same way... The difference is, is that you don't have to with the RROD - MS will repair it properly (well, debateable) for you, for free.

The reason why I bought ps3 is because of gt5, but it was a completely disappointment. Owned an Xbox for a period of time I have to say Xbox live infrastructure is much better than sen. However in my point of view I don't really mind anything, as long as it is free. Three reason why ps3 is better is because it plays blueray, online gaming is free and lastly no region lock! I don't get a point why they want imply region lock, all Japanese titles can't be play so boo. as an Asian gamer, there is loads of interesting titles which the rest of the world don't get, and is seriously fun!
