This is the cheapest that I have seen this particular console model and is cheaper than buying the bits separately.
It comes with a Premium Wii U console, a copy of Zombi U and a Pro controller.
Cheapest deals separately atm are:
Premium Wii U for £199.99 @ Asda (if they have any left), £236.00 otherwise.
ZombiU for £25 @ Tesco
Pro Controller for £26.13 @ Asda and Amazon
It works out at just over £250, if you can find the console for £199.99, otherwise it goes up to about £286.

sorted byAs a 36 year old married gamer, I feel I have the experience to back my comments - Ive owned pretty much every console (and computer) that has had games from 1st generation to current and will no doubt get next gen. yes im lucky enough to have had the educaton and up bringing that has allowed me to get myself in a financial sitiation where I can own more than one console, for those who care I currently own a gaming pc, ps3, 360 and recently bought a wii u premium pack for £199.99 on the asda deal.
What I think you are missing with your comments are:
Yes - The Wii (not Wiiu) created a new audience of casual gamers (the mums and grandparents), and this market has moved onto tablet and touch screen gaming for 99p / 5 minutes of a day.
I probably just like you have mates who only care for adult themed games mostly FPS and occasionally the next hyped up Elder scrolls or Diablo game before realising that genre requires longer than 30 - 45 minute sessions to get anything out of.
These gamers do not understand pixel count or shader count, what Dx11 provides since Dx9 etc, they cant tell a cgi cut scene from in game engine (ive face palmed myself countless times at 'how cool are those graphics when its clearly a cgi cut scene). What they were told to care about though was HD even if at 24fps, and the Wii failed to captivate them, it wasnt powerful enough for HD resolutions or COD,BF2 /3, and didnt have a control mechanism as standard to work well with them if it could (lets face it the wii controsl were broken and motion plus brought the accuracy it promised at launch).
The WIIU however - is current gen / there abouts, this means graphics in HD resolutions, 30fps, pretty enough and capable enough to produce First Person Shooters (see black ops 2) and realistic racing games with a standard control system that suits - it just needs the games made for it.
I really believe the masses will care less about better shading, bigger maps or draw distance of next gen and will still see just the end of a gun, brown green surrondings and enemies to shoot duck hunt style in the next gen same as current gen, and next gen systems will struggle to get owners to migrate over too.
Nintendo however will contine to relase its high quality but child friendly games exclusivley for its system(s), a system that can provide the cheap tablet gaming fix (the market it once had but lost, netflix, love film streaming etc, It is interesting as I think by christmas this year, the WIIu will be £179 RRP competing with Ps4 / xbox at £349.
For the record Im enjoying my Wii U - Monster hunter has alot of depth to it, and Nintendo land shows alot of what can be done with the tablet, plus remember you can download alot of demos to see you through the dry spell of games.
I believe that the Wii is two taped together.
The Wii U, however, is 4.
No you would have been traffic shaped never gonna get 37gb in 90mins
Just to start this is a Wii U, not a Wii, and secondly your three points are absolute dribble.
I would just like to say that I buy Nintendo consoles because they don't forget that their primary function is to play videogames. The X360 has completely lost its way in this respect and seems hell bent on selling me other media that I have other dedicated equipment for. The PS3 cost a lot of money when it first came out and that was because it decided to use a format that was not mainstream at the time. Nowadays it is concentrating on making good games, which is what it should of been doing in its first few years out in the field.
A gamer is someone who enjoys playing videogames, not someone who has to have a machine to assure their masculinity.
By this I mean that a videogame can be good, and will be played by gamers, even if it isn't a first person brown as you like shooter. I will proudly say that I played COD 4 through to MW3 but even I can see that it is the game killing gaming. All children want nowadays is fast action and violence all of the time. Having it as an option is great for when you had a hard day, but playing a game everyday, most children with the game do, is not good for the IQ levels.
It's not just the future of gaming that rests on Next-Gen but I would say the future of our very nation. Extreme, but true.

Sorry to undermine you a bit but you didn't need an X360 to make the most of this generation. Your best bet was to buy a Wii for its exclusive RPG's and unique experiences and then a PS3 for its exclusives and the multiplats. The X360 completely rode on third parties, and in my opinion, had not one exclusive worth owning.
@drummerdickens Why are you constantly attacking the Wii on a Wii U thread? Yes the Wii was definitely picked up by casuals and didn't get multiplats but it certainly had its fair share of great exclusive titles. The Wii U on the other hand is a completely different machine with a different ethos. It has yet to establish itself for two reasons. One being that it hasn't been out all that long, and two that the economy is in a mess and people can't afford to upgrade their gaming machine when their current one is serving them nicely, at the moment.
Lol at your misunderstanding of that blog post. That bunch had given up on attempting to hack home consoles - not just the Wii U.
They felt that it wasn't worth the effort to finish cracking the Wii U especially since it'll mostly be used for piracy rather than homebrew and they didn't want to end up in legal trouble again from what they did with the PS3. Get your facts straight and maybe you'll have more credibility.
As it stands - you're just an uninformed person with a knee jerk response to a headline.
By the way, my console is just as you say, collecting dust in the corner, but not for lack of playing it, I just haven't cleaned it in the last few months - too busy playing it to bother.
I am 30 years old and have been gaming for the last 23 years and have no children. Yet I own PS3, X360, 3DS PC Wii and Wii U. Tell me how I fit into your uninformed, fictional, biased gamer box? I suspect you only been gaming for the last five years and you are part of the "Playstation generation". I have you to thank for endless copycat sequels IPs on Xbox and PS3.

GRRR very good point. I forgot about that.
Not watch this plummet
Was £34.99 in Manchester HMV yesterday
This is deffo a good deal for the super glorified gamecube, if anyone can get 20 years out of a games console - it has to be Funtendo
No it's actually 6
Wii is 2.
Wii-U is 3 times Wii
3 x 2 = 6 Gamecubes.
1. Wii u gamepad, why not just use a micro USB to charge, maybe a 3DS charger or even charge from the console. Nope another power cable
2. Forced to use static IP/DNS with my virgin superhub which has to be one of the most widely used routers in the UK. But my 10+ WIFI devices work fine...
3. Still waiting for the system update to finish an 90 mins later. I know people said it will take a while and its 5gb etc. But I'm on a 60mbit connection, I could download 37gb in that time so basically its the Nintendo servers that ain't up to it?
sorry rant over
I was also thinking along the same line. But then I thought there is no way I play Nintendoland often enough to buy it all separately. Granted I could get the premium console for 199
I was back at mine today and it was back up I bought 4 anyway so dont need one but looks like its gone back up in the stores that are staying open I guess
My Wii U is the most used console in my home atm with friends coming around to play Mario Kart etc. It serves its purpose well and can't wait for the new Mario's and Zelda's to come out etc.
Why oh why do people come on these forums to say how rubbish it is!! Bet you haven't even played one. Rememeber, this is all about the money money money , is it a good deal? Yeh or neh. P.S Im now off to a forum to moan about how rubbish something else is...

I must agree, i have the same connection as you. Actually i have 100Mb and im only 200M from my exchange. I get near 9Mb. Also the wii u update only took me around 15 minutes to download. I think you're internet sucks! You need to configure it correctly!
You don't have virgin media do you.
Of course I've played one. They just seem to be wheeled out at family events when no-one can think of anything better to do. The only people who buy Wii's are people who are:
a) Too lazy to do real exercise and convince themselves that Wii Fit will make a difference
b) Not gamers and think its a great platform
c) with small children.
And besides, £250 for a Wii when you can get PS3's and Xboxs for closer to £100 makes this a poor deal.
Of course i have virgin. The best supplier for fibre.
My three points are completely accurate. I'm a 26 year old man who loves his RPGs, cares for the occasional shooter, is not fond of racing games and rarely plays fighting games. Yes, a tonne of people like FPSs and will own a ps3 or Xbox solely for COD. However, a good majority of the people I know, from 20 to 50 who own a console will own an Xbox or a PS3 and will play similar games. Skyrim and Bioshock are particular favourites of people I know. Why? Because they are fantastic games and better than anything the Wii or Wii U can produce.
Wii's are pretty poor on the whole and are not popular amongst the vast majority of people who are remotely passionate about gaming. You only need to look online at the discussion forums for console games. The very people the gaming industry typically revolves around, young males, are the ones flooding the PS3 and Xbox forums, leaving Wii and Wii U forums deserted.
Wii's are for family events and middle aged women. If you've bought one to experience a huge catalogue of genuinely fantastic games you've made a poor purchase.

And does each of those consoles receive 16.5% of your game playing time? Honestly? And you suspect wrong about me.
Look, Wii's are worse. End of. Go to Gamespot.com; the Xbox forum has over 2 million posts, the ps3 forum has over 2.5 million posts, the system wars forum has 5 million posts (of which the Wii is rarely discussed). Combined the Wii and Wii U forum has 1.2 million posts.
I'm not suggesting there are NO good games on the Wii and Wii U. But it's less discussed, less used, less popular and generally a lesser console. It's madness to suggest it isn't.
