Yeah it is but we get to spend our hard earned money on other things instead of the monthly outgoing with Adobe

Yes you can really get a FULL download version of Corel's Paint Shop Pro X9 Ultimate along with assorted bonus crap for just £19.99 - This is direct from Corel and the software will be registered and licenced by them. This is not an upgrade deal (that price is £53!) - this is full software that requires no previous Corel PSP software.

This deal usually becomes available to existing Paintshop Pro users - it appears as a pop up to entice you to buy at this very low price, usually this version is £79.99 for the full download and here it's just £19.99

Make sure you untick the optional download insurance (unless you want it) as that adds £6.86 to the total.

You can buy several licences (I have just done this) to install on several PCs although you might be able to use 1 licence for a PC and laptop although the licence agreement says you can't. Anyhoo, you'll get a full unrestricted licence (1 licence per PC)

Usually this is only available to PSP software owners of which I am, so when this offer popped up in a locked down window I noticed the web address briefly showed in the window, so I copied it down by taking a screenshot, tested it in other browsers and PC, stripped out my personal details from the URL should give you a totally clean link to Corel to make your own purchase.

I also went via TopCashBack in case I can get 11.5% cashback too

It allows extensive photo and image editing - it's not for everyone as there are many half decent free image software programs available but many like Paintshop Pro for their editing needs. I use it for many things, improving/editing images for use on my websites and use in printed leaflets (I edit images of equipment and products then put the image in documents that get printed), from touching up and restoring old photos there's lots it can do.

Video here youtube.com/wat…5Dg (it's long but gives a good idea of PSP)

I still use PSP7 from 2000 as it's so quick and fast to use, this version of PSP is actually quite similar in the way it works but naturally has a load more stuff bunged in, but it you used PSP 3.02 from 1995 I reckon you'd be using this in no time.

I never got on with Gimp, it's good but a bit too clunky for my liking.... so for me PSP has always been my go to image editing tool. I'll still use PSP7 for quick edits because it's so light on resources when running an an i5 desktop (considering it'll run on a Pentium 2!)

OK I've discovered the link to upgrade Aftershot 3 to Aftershot Pro 3 - the very first time you install Aftershot 3 then close it you get a pop up saying save 67% - get the upgrade for £15.99
    29592717-lKEKs
You will not see this upgrade price again once you close the window, the next time you open the program there is an upgrade price of £39.99

If you click the £15.99 pop up you get a customised weblink, I've removed the bits that are unique to me and it still works for others but NOTE it is an upgrade to AfterShot 3 so you must already own that.
    Here's the link
    Here's the usual upgrade link

To discover this, installed the aftershot 3 onto a virtual machine, used the same licence key and it installed ok, then upon first opening of the software and closing it I was presented with the pop up upgrade deal. This also suggests you can install the software at least 2 times.

You can get Aftershot 3 (non pro) for free until 31st December as Huawei_or_my_way mentioned earlier then use the £15.99 upgrade to get the pro version

Thanks for that, my previous version (going back to PSP X3) stated it was the Ultimate in the licence key and when I opened PSP X9 a pop up said I could upgrade to Ultimate for £15.... rebooting has now removed that option in the window where you can buy other add ons.

I Love PaintShop Pro, used since I got a free version on a magazine, many, many years ago :D,
    I prefer PSP over Photoshop.
The only problem I have, is that PSP(and PS), don't support webp images, I get round this via using xncovert

    Poor man's Photoshop.

The photography brigade seem to regard it pretty highly. For example:

    https://www.ephotozine.com/article/corel-paintshop-pro-x9-review--29730

Personally, I'd rather pay a 1 off fee for a piece of software than a monthly fee for CC etc.

My download links state they'll expire end of December so make sure you download ALL the software and save copies of it in case you need to re-install later on. While you can always redownload PSP 9 software (in trial form then unlock with you licence key) I don't think you can download all the other bits again. Registering the software also gives you 3 more plug in downloads.

Is this better than the free Google Nik collection software?

You are comparing the wrong things!
Paintshop Pro X9 Ultimate (inc Aftershot Pro) is meant to be an alternative to Photoshop/Lightroom.
[Not getting involved in the 'discussion' around whether this is true or not That is a 'religious' argument for the Fanbois on both sides ]
It is a software package rather than the now 'Subscription' version of Photoshop that is officially 'only' available.)
It is an alternative solution to having to use 'old/dodgy' versions of Photoshop if you don't like the subscription business model.
Since Paintshop Pro X8.2 the Google Nik Collection has been fully compatible 'according to Corel'.
    (See ... blog.paintshoppro.com/rea…-2/ )

Instructions on how to add the Plugins from within Paintshop Pro, are in the same article's comments.

I have used Nik Plugins with the Trial version of Paintshop Pro X9 with no apparent issues , but I am a noob to Nik and/or Paintshop Pro / Photoshop.

Worth trying it as Nik Collection is now free, you have nothing to lose.

Nothing appears in plug ins (if that's where it's supposed to appear)Also note that KPT plugins dont work in the 64bit version (I installed both versions during 1st install)Otherwise all seems good

Only advice I can give based on the Trial install is that you need to install Paintshop Pro & Aftershot Pro on a 'Clean' PC.
I had weird problems when I had a previous version of Paintshop Pro & Aftershot installed.

****** 1st BACKUP ANY FILES YOU NEED BEFORE THE NEXT STEP .... (Don't risk losing any Photos etc ******
De-install Paintshop Pro & After shot Pro ensuring the uninstall has run fully.
[Paintshop Pro etc installs lots of background programs that can take a while to install/start on first install, this makes the de-install slow as the reverse is true.]

    Reboot your PC.

Reinstall Paintshop Pro 1st, ensure the license is accepted and the software runs as a fully licensed version.

    Reboot your PC.

    Check Paintshop still working OK

    Reinstall Aftershot.

Once again check license is accepted and software is running OK.
At this point you can start installing/adding all the extras and updates from Corel etc.

This is the process I followed that worked with the Trial version.
It is also worth closing down any software you are not using before doing the install.
[Not your Anti-virus etc of course.:) Modern Anti-virus/anti-malware etc software should not conflict with a software install if your PC is clean to begin with.]

Thanks for this. I have always been a PSP user. I'm sure its more famous cousin does a few things more smoothly, but cost-wise and at my level of photography this has always served me well. My last version (an old one) didn't support some formats I now use and this should sort me out.

I have re-installed and tried repairing Aftershots but no joy yet.Initially it would open a window asking me to confirm folder locations for cache files and user files - I (stupidly?) changed the defaults hoping it would make it work but after the change nothing every appears once you launch the Aftershot program... no screen or anything.I also noted that the Corel KPT free plug in only work on the 32bit version of Corel so if you've installed both versions then that might be why some plug ins don't appear.

When you install Paintshop Pro X9 BOTH versions are installed, so you can use the 32-bit version if you need to use the KPT Plugins. [Corel do document that the KPT Plugins are only 32-bit]
Unfortunately, I am also having the same problem with Aftershot 3.
I am currently seeing what Corel support can come up with.
Aftershot Pro 3 installs and runs with no issues so I am surprised that it is a problem.
I will update this thread if I get a solution.

    BTW:
Aftershot 3 is being given away by Corel as Freebie at Christmas.
This can be upgraded for a 'small fee :)' to the Pro version via an automatic popup you get when the software is installed.
I tried this version to see if it worked vs the Cleverbridge linked version from Corel Store.
    It did not !!!

It's a good question and I'm not totally sure I'm right but it looks to me that Aftershots is primarily a RAW image editor, higher end cameras can save their images in the RAW format (no compression so with more detail than a jpeg digital image)

Paintshop Pro is a more general purpose image editing program, you can tweak any image, add text, change colours, add effects and do many things to add to an image.

If you don't use or know about RAW images then you most likely don't need Aftershot 3

mind, it is a very confusing turn of phrase. i've actually went on a support chat to confirm and that is what they've told me, giving me the same link. just in case i've emailed the chat to my email address in case i run into any problems.

This is a direct quote from support:

"As stated on our Product End User License Agreement (E.U.L.A.), You can install the program to two to three computers (e.g. 2 laptop and 1 desktop), as long as you own both computers and that you do not use the program at the same time. If you want to review the EULA, please go to their page http://apps.corel.com/store/faq/eula.htm"

    hope it helps!

After the issue I had of AfterShot 3 not running after installation, I finally managed to get it working. If it helps anybody, here is what I did...
    1. Uninstall the current version of AfterShot 3.
    2. Reboot PC.
    3. Disable AntiVirus and Firewall (I have Bullguard).
    4. Double-click on the AfterShot3.exe (644kb) to start the installation.
    5. When prompted, input the licence key.
    6. Once the installation finishes, right-click on the new desktop item and choose 'Run as administrator'.

I initially thought that it hadn't worked but after having my head in my hands for about 10 seconds, up popped the initialisation screen, and hey presto, it opened up. I closed it down, enabled the antivirus and firewall, and then ran it again just by double-clicking the desktop icon and it worked fine. All seems good so far.

OK a reboot of the machine and installing the 4 extra programs that come with Ultimate make me believe this is the Ultimate edition although it doesn't actually say it is on the program itself. But the features of Ultimate that differentiate between standard are included with this deal. Happy days.

The ultimate edition comes with additional software:
    # Corel® AfterShot™ 3 — Quickly adjust and manage even large photo collections, and enhance RAW files. (NOT THE PRO VERSION)
#Perfectly Clear by Athentech Imaging — Apply robust, one-click image corrections with award-winning intelligent photo correction technology.
#Corel® Live Screen Capture — Record video directly from your screen. Easily capture both system audio and microphone sound when recording.
#Creative collection — Includes dozens of brushes, textures and royalty-free backgrounds.

    OP,
    Many thanks.
I have new a Camera and have been using a Trial version which is very similar to Photoshop.
At this price it is a steal
Particularly as Photoshop is a 'Subscription service' which means you never own it and are held hostage to any future changes or price increases. I like to own my software and not need to be 'on-line all the time'.
(There is an element of that in PSP but not to the same degree.)

    Edit:
Topcashback also tracked for me at 11%, so even cheaper !

In 2 minds whether to get this to use on my Surface 4 but wondered what the menus are like. When I tried CS2 on a mates tablet they were so small they were unusable.
