Same deal, in the link I posted there was a 5l option and hadn't seen this. Either way expired
It was not much more for twice as much 2 days ago https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/garage-floor-paint-2-part-epoxy-3473518
8.99 plus postage
oh wow, must have had one in stock. Sorry, have expired
Amazing deal. Shame I saw it 3 days too late. Been after some epoxy floor paint.
Wickes, not Wicked....
Get self levelling compound/screed. The Wicked one is good. £20 for a bag. Make sure you get the exterior one. It's easy to apply as well.
Garage floor/so concrete? My flagged patio has been pressure washed but just doesn't look gleaming like it used to :( My garden now looks beautiful as I've spent so much time doing it up, it's our haven, but the patio let's it down (annoyed) I had a thought about painting it, but haven't got a clue if this will work ok and if you get good results? Flags would be porous wouldn't they so the paint wouldn't 'flake' off? I'm wanting a pale grey....anyone painted their patio?.... would this paint be any good? I would really appreciate any advice if anyone would be so kind, thanks (lipstick)
Managed to bag the last tins of blue - thank you very much, another job to do (lol)
Looking good, can really see the colour starting to take hold... Right I'll get the Sprayer now I just need to find somewhere that sells the paint!!!!
This is after the first coat. Spray gun works great with it. I have thinned the paint with a bit of water. About 100ml for each 2L of paint. Just follow the guidelines in the paint spraier instructions. Hope it helps (y) 🏻
As above are the cheap guns from the middle of idle and also etc my good for paint/fence paint/stsin etc. etc. ,? Or better off sticking with 'lectric??
Anyone know of good offer on masking tape? thirty fence panels to spray both sides.
What paint did you use please?
Could be something a bit more geeky for people to wear to Pride, too.
Ordered, TQ. Tried to add a 10% code via honey which worked and then didn't work when you applied the free postage code... Worth the £8.99 though. cheers
Great find! Ordered!
Daughter will love this
The worst? Have you ever heard of Hermes?
I got it,very good brush :D :D
Thinking the same thing. Hope it doesn't come with extra hair, I mean bristles...
Price gone up?
It's a radiator, they suddenly get hot, so it's best to not get too close when painting ;)
I used a brush, as my door had lots of panels with risen edges. If you’re doing something large like a garage door a roller would give a better finish. It goes off so quickly you have to make sure no runs etc. A brush leaves bristle marks a bit, but makes my door look wood so I don’t mind that.
Did you apply the paint with a roller or brush?
Yes delivery is very reliable
It so is too ive a basket at check out can you tell me is delivery reliable do you know? Thanks
Are they any good thanks
Paint up the way only.
Awesome! Yeah I'll probs have a look around for Hammerite as I've used it before on radiators etc so trust it. Thanks again (y)
No problem but don't blame me if it doesn't turn out how you want it! ;) Not to throw a spanner in the works but if I was doing a metal garage door, I'd just use Hammerite as I have used it before and know it is good quality. As I said though, preparation really is the key. Definitely get rid of any lose/flaking paint and make sure any bare metal is smooth and shiny before painting - if you have lots of lose paint or rust/oxidisation then a wire brush drill attachment could help and speed things up a bit. (y) I'm off to clean a wall ready for painting now! (nerd)
Nice one, will move forward based on this (y) P.S. the garage door is metal.
Paint scraper on any areas that are flaking or wire brush where it is bare and there is rust/oxidation depending on material of door. Personally, I would then go over the whole thing with sand paper to give the new paint something to key in to and also so you don't get marks where the old paint has flaked. Unsure if this is suitable for garage doors though it does say suitable for outdoor... Any painting though, you probably want to spend 2-4 times as much time prepping the surfaces as you do on the actual painting..
Not a bad price, as a painter and decorator l don't actually do spraying for the No1 reason it goes everywhere. Painters l know spent £1500 on a Graco set up and used it a few times only. House or Public liability insurance DOES NOT pay for overspray to neighbours cars. You will be very surprised just how far the mist flys in the wind. Please be EXTREMELY cautious if buildings near you. Avoid the windy days. Lot of masking !!!
I was about to buy this one. Does anybody have any experience with this one? ERBAUER ERB561SRG 700W ELECTRIC HVLP SPRAY GUN
I got £50 one and used yest for 1st time on big indoor wall. For emulsion deffo thin down a bit and it goes on a treat, I learn. Otherwise you are constantly cleaning and unblocking it. I would say the exterior stain my next job will be a gift on the shed as it will b fine from the tin due to its wateryness.
For odd jobs like painting over a small patch.
So why do you buy brushes and rollers from the pound shop?
No you can add it to your basket and pre-order it, I think that’s quite different
You can still add to the basket and buy it (y)
Im not sure sorry, i just wanted to make people aware (highfive)
There was a deal yesterday for a pack of 5 Harris Platinum wooden handle paintbrushes for £4.99 on Amazon. It might be worth adding them to your watch list to see if they come back down to that price again. https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/lg-harris-13190-platinum-5-brush-set-499-at-amazon-3459455
I always look out for Harris when they’re on offer. They last years if you clean them well. And you don’t waste time swearing & picking bristles out of your new paint 🥴
Purchased last time. Got a pack of 4 plastic handled poor quality brushes. Buyer beware
I’ll be cleaning my nails for days after picking bristles out of the paint with these brushes!
These won’t be very good. Not even cheap enough for single use. One tip when using expensive non-synthetic bristles, use a bit of hair conditioner to keep the bristle supple after use. Look after them and they last a very long time.
When they invent a machine that can spray Dulux Weathershield it will make them a fortune. My folks got a quote for 2 grand to paint our house with it so me and the bruvv did it ourselves but what a job that was especially on old rough 1960's render! (mad)
I have 250r but I don't think I'm gonna spend 70£ on this. If it comes with the tips then yes.
You can get it much cheaper from China,
Thanks for posting OP
All these comments and I was expecting to see all sorts of blinged-up lockdown art projects XD (still no idea why my sister bought a few cans of this, have to ask her)
Mine arrived too. It's perfect.
Arrived, is perfect, clearly never used, brand new
Shame it's expired. =( Heat added for people that got it
Looks good shame price back up. Heat for those that got one.
Back up to 11.99
Was just about to order and the price has gone up
I always found this to take an extra coat as coverage so poor.
Zinsser Permawhite for me. Water based. Doesn't yellow. Easy to apply. Can be used on woodwork, walls and ceilings.
2.5LTR - JOHNSTONES TRADE AQUA GLOSS BRILLIANT WHITE search that on amazon, it’s £31.99 and worth every penny.
Any links please?
Tape I ordered on 16th April arrived today, tracked 48 hour delivery
it's a nice cheese
They didn't refund mine either until I chased. Not impressed.
Out of stock
I received my order today, thanks again OP :)
Good for cleaning the car with all it's nooks and crannies - Thanks! Hot
Thanks Ninty & Fluffybear! Some great suggestions. That Bushmate looks handy... Who knew HUD was the best place for DIY advice (y)
Ninty knows what he is talking about, pay a little more for Purdy or Harris brushes look after them they will last for years, another option is the Albany brushes or Pro Dec brushes at Brewers decorators merchants, Pro dec come in handy packs and are not to bad. Brewers is not open but their sister company designerpaints.com are still selling brushes and paint if anyone is looking still. Cleaning with water for waterbase paints and for oil base if you have a jar with a metal lid pour some white spirit quarter the way up then dip your brushes in lift and out and spin between the palms of your hands inside the jar, pop the lid on and store on a shelf away from sunlight and you can use it a few more times. If you use the oil base a fare few times it might be worth investing in a 4 brush Brushmate box. But I'll let you look that up. Sorry to bore you lot. Happy painting
Used some brushes on sale currently in aldi. They are really good. Think a pack of 4 varying sizes was £6-7. Currently oos online but if you are going for an essential shop then worth having a look in local aldi. We used them to paint our garden fences over the Easter weekend and they did a good job. Hope this helps.
I use Purdy too and can't go back now, but there are some really good cheap brushes around (alongside a lot of crap ones). I tried prodec from tool station but they were way too soft, like trying to draw with a rubber pencil, I took them straight back. I was very impressed with Spear and Jackson set you can find in Home Bargains for a few quid, not to soft, comfortable handles and give a nice finish, perfect for DIYers on a budget.
I have one and it works great with even coverage. Not sure where my husband got it from but I bought another one a few years later on ebay because I couldn't find the other one and it was crap, I have since found the other one and it still does a great job (strong) I hope this helps..
Bought once after seeing advert, unfortunately didn’t checked online reviews before buying. You have to pay shipping for return as a catch. Used once. Completely waste of money and time. There are lots of YouTube review videos. Avoid at all cost (unless you have money to waste).
These are absolute crap, as many have said above. Also, cheaper on Ebay and no doubt elsewhere.
If they were any good decorators would use them , and they don`t
Where can I get some of that tartan paint it’s aws
Paint arrived!! no text or email to say but fed ex delivered it, ordered march 30th
Had no txt or email...But mine was on the front door step when I arrived home
Just got an email from FedEx saying my delivery is due tomorrow (party)
No sign of any paint, Even though I had an email saying it would arrive on the 28th or sooner.....
I’ve just received 2 of the 6 items I ordered on the 29th March, god knows where the rest is...I can’t understand how they’ve got it so wrong and are still accepting online orders!
A thousand times this, we run out of cheap stuff painting the kitchen recently and against our better judgement unearthed this from the drawer and now have a load of rework to do as its pulled up paint everywhere it was used 😡
Get the yellow frog tape. Low tack is the one you want and not this green pack
Used this a few years ago in living room. Used as instructions on pack and it pulled most of the paint off around the edges so definitely no good at 'keeping lines straight'. Stick to something else, if you'll excuse the pun.
frog is good for masking windows/glass
