Not if they're applied properly.

Yes, Wilko paints are quite good, try it, but make sure you ventilate the room when painting, that goes for all paints.

Not sure if it's going to effect your asthma, but I find wilco paints very good.

One coat paints are rubbish.

That deal is over so dont know why someone has mentioned it. Is Wilkos paint ok. Dulux paint makes me asthmatic so looking for something else

[Rollback] Johnstones 5 Litre Paint - Any colour £8 @ Asda
Found 15th JunFound 15th Jun
Any colour £8. Decent price.

I'm going to paint the ceiling at the weekend, just picked up 2 tins from local asda .I suppose good for ceiling though..

I am paining at the mooment and found this to be watery and drips a lot. Switched to Wikes trade paint and its so much better. Tip also is to buy a double ended roller set like this one Screwfix roller set it is so much easier to use and wider so you can paint a ceiling faster.

Oh lolll

She was being funny I think

Just not impressed with Dulux paint. Opacity is very low. Used 3 coats over a very faint patterned paper and it still shows through.

Don't forget a roller and tray. You don't want to be painting walls with a brush. Use the brush for cutting in to details/edges then roller the rest. Get the blue, low tack masking tape for easy removals. Screwfix and Toolstation also sell masking tape with plastic sheeting attached. It's great stuff for covering up.

If you can **** you can paint, don’t pay someone to do it unless you’re extremely busy.

Do you have wooden walls?

Yeh, straightforward and I'm rubbish at DIY masking tape Plastic sheets Set of different brushes Sandpaper and block possibly Screwfix is great if you have one near you Good luck

Great value No Nonsense anti slip decking stain, really good quality for the money £11.99 for 2.5 litre or 2 for £20

Used the ronseal decking stain for years , £18 for 2.5L . But only lasts 12 months and fades away . So will give this a go . 2 for £20 !

What a caulk, he sounds like a proper deck.

Cuprinol 1 litre Garden Shades Exterior Paint for garden wood £5 Tesco
Found 12th JunFound 12th Jun
Four colours available -Wild Thyme, Barleywood, Blue and Country Cream. Tesco Direct Sale

It's a cheap one..250£ 8x6..don't know exact what kind of wood it is made of.. So I find it a bit expensive for 1L - 5£:)))

That's what it says on the tin. Link suggests otherwise though I don't imagine the link text constitutes any part of the 'contract'.

1 litre?

Depends on what your wood shed is made of. You could use this on a wooden shed. :)

have used this before on mud kitchens and sand pits for a playgroup and in my opinon its a lot better than wilkos one ,tried wilkos and ronseal and much prefer this as they both took 4 coats and this only 2 to give it a good cover with no streaks.

I used this last year on my new fence, I used the colour "willow" it is actually a pale green and looks great , 1 year on and it still looks good. the 5 litre tin was £20 but at the end of summer they were selling them off for £10 !

If you only need to paint a couple of panels fair enough but any more than this and this is a rip off. 5 litres of Cuprinol DucksBack (the best I have tried tbh) is only 14 quid. May as well buy this anyway as at least you will have enough to do the whole fence again if u need to.

I've used this today. I bought the beach hut blue which looks closer to white than blue(it's a very very pale blue) which is slightly disapointing. It goes on really well though, a little goes along way & it's dries pretty quickly.

@lomey it's the brand name, the colour in the link is listed as "Willow"

I found this better coverage than the cuprinol colours, goes on really well and great price

Nice info (y) as much as I hate it -I knew there was a painter and decorator in me somewhere (excited)

Use soda crystals mix to wash down, a very light sandpaper takes no effort at all - outdoors - you don’t want that clogging your lungs and blood system up, easy as (y)

I want to paint my dining chairs with this, will I have to use sandpaper before applying a coat to remove hand dirt etc? Any advice please :)

I am a painter and decorator. I have used this on walls and ceilings. It gives a washable and durable finish. It's good it you have young kids with hands all over the walls. If you are painting it over a shiny oil based paint like gloss I would advise to put a oil based undercoat on first then apply 2 coats of this water based paint on top. Otherwise it will scratch of the woodwork very easy. Water based satin does not discolour like oil based. Happy painting

Supposed to be 20 times tougher than standard Dulux, and scrubbable without the paint coming off the wall like the standard Dulux paints.

Indeed, checking an hour ago I found the following colours for same price: goose down, ivory lace, lavender quartz, timeless, wicker, nordic sky, pebble, rich black, pewter. A few 5L tins can also be found for £15

There’s lots of silk and Matt colours for £7.50. Thanks op ordered some silk timeless to freshen up a bedroom.

You don’t have to throw them away, you can use them to brush away the dust created by sanding between coats.

I think you'll find we've covered that already

What about the pollution caused by using solvents to clean these poxy brushes which also hampers and ruins the future of our environment?

Absolutely, in fact I hate having to bin brushes, once they have seen better days, they come in handy as dusting brushes when dusting between floors and skirtings etc.

which is much better than a throwaway brush I'm sure you'll agree.
