Paint Your Own Money Boxes all Half Price Lots of Designs to choose from @ Hobbycraft
Found 1st DecFound 1st Dec
Nice stocking fillers. Prices now from £1.75 to £2.25 Bear in pic was £3.50 now £1.75. Unicorn was £4.50 now £2.25

Is this not WiFi enabled? Does it come with ethernet cable? Decent item, but no store near me and almost a fiver for delivery!!! :o ;(

Thank you. Ordered 4 different types for us to argue over on Christmas day...Or more likely I'll be painting all 4 as the kids fail to understand how thr concept of an item works without WiFi!

Sorry saw these in store yesterday and thought I would post them. Didn't realise the C & C was over £10.00. have edited to reflect this.

c & c is for a minimum spend of £10...not free

The link should take you to the page with all the money boxes on. I've just edited the link in case it was incorrect but it was and is working for me, sorry if not for you that's the only link there is. Maybe just search money box and see if that works for you :)

Yeah seems I missed that when I reread it again and again trying to figure it out, put it down to Saturday morning but old age might be a better reasoning :)

That as well as masonry paint fence paint etc all now withowrr vohc levels... Emulsion is also rubbish these days... When i was younger it was almost like a paste you could get away one coat.

It states in the description Flat finnish. :D sorry a bit deep for this time on a Saturday morning.

I think you are referring mainly to gloss paints and the chemicals that were once used to help stop discolouration. White gloss/satin paint turns yellow now if it's not exposed to light much. I'd recommend a waterbased paint called Zinnser Perma White for you skirtings, doors, etc, as it will never yellow. It can be a little tricky to use, as it can dry quite quick depending on the conditions, so going back and correcting drips can ruin the finish even more with brush marks. I've found a technique that gives a great finish though. Regular washing of you brush is essential to clean off drying paint, have a second person corrected drips closely after your coat or doing smaller sections at a time then going back yourself to correct drips, and finally have a spray bottle of water ready to give the painted area a quick misting if you need to correct drips or brush marks in the paint. You'll get a super-smooth finish doing this, but it can take quite a few coats to complete the job. Make sure you leave enough time to dry before applying another coat and it can take 14 days to fully cure so if you are doing skirtings prior to having a new carpet fitted then make sure you leave this amount of time before doing so. I think it's touch dry in something like 4 hours but all depends on the environment and conditions it's used in.

Agreed. I always get trade paint and I'm just a diyer. Its get more pigment in, it's thicker amd can be watered down slighty, you get better coverage. 2 coats are always enough. I've had to do 4 coats previously with retail paint, it's a massive con, as is paint for bathrooms and kitchens. Dulux decorator centres sometimes have 25% off, just keep an eye on their website for offers.

Sandtex illus masonry paint 5L £12 @ B&Q

Decent price for 5L tin, hopefully useful for someone.

Be careful using some exterior paints indoors. Even after drying dried asthmatics and such can have a tough time. New build 3m concrete block wall was badly damp after rain storms. 2 coats of Sandtex textured cleared all that up. I love the brand.

Yeah best emulsion for inside, doesn’t rub away

Inside ?? (lol)

Mine would be direct onto old brickwork so I'm guessing quite a lot would be needed. I'm liking this idea of using it indoors though.

No, masonry paint is thicker so you may end up finding it harder to get a smooth finish

I know that, my comment was to MonacoBlue, who, I think, has left it as the top coat, nothing wrong with that on a ceiling but best to finish with another paint on top.

thats why its a basecoat , you can't use this as a top coat finish thats why its chalky and can be easily marked

I only recently worked out that there are two Leyland White paints and they are quite different. The one on offer here (Contract) is for plaster generally and is breathable which is useful for plaster which is still drying. The non-contract from B&Q can then be used and gives a very good coverage and less "milky". Personally we have used the B&Q as two coats on bare plaster and happy with final result. You probably should do 3 coats but my arms didn't fancy doing all ceilings 3 times!

Contract Matt really needs a decent paint to finish, it leaves a very chalky finish and very easily marked.

Yep, I just had sitting room fully skimmed, used this paint, first coat was using this 50-50 with water*, 2nd coat around 70-30, then 2 coats of 100% then top coat of Dulux Easycare Matt. You could just use this 100% for all coats but I don't think it would give a better finish, and all advice given by plasterers & painters over the years is to water the first couple of coats on new plaster. *quite messy, has the consistency of milk...!

Contract matt is only for new plaster:

Will be fine for a little girl. Will be great. I bought it for myself (lol)

Haven't opened it to be honest, but will have a look later. It's just for a little girl anyway :)

The box is huge but it's tiny. Not sure it's even worth it.

Yeah that's the normal thing, but my family are always useless. Think I'll get it anyway, I'm sure she'll give it to my daughter if she doesn't like it.

No idea, as I don't know the person - perhaps better asking people who know her :P

Dulux emulsion paint colours 2.5 litres £10 wilko

Dulux emulsion paint colours 2.5 ltr £10 was £14 at Wilkos

Cashback on Quidco too 👌🏻

£20 for the 5 litre pots at B&Q also, if you prefer the larger pots!

We got exceptional coverage using dulux polished pebble grey. It really is good stuff. Almost got away with one coat. 2 should be sufficient if not covering over a dark uneven disaster. Be careful though. You really want all your tins from the same production batch (code is on lid). This is because the paint does vary between tins. We were told by b and q 'paint expert' that its not a problem for dulux as all consistent. This is just wrong. On the tin, it even states to mix all the tins together if using multiple tins for same job. By getting same batch we avoided this. If doing whole house, as long as you have matching paint for all paint used in each room this will be good enough, as you wont notice any variation when changing rooms. The other benefit of matching batch codes is touch ups. we have spare paint that will match down the road... *additional. £4/litre or less is the right price if you doing whole house. Any more is not good value. We got for less that this as was £18 for 5 litre tins at one point

Dulux is typically upto 13m2 per litre so measure up and depending if you buy regular or one coat will determine how many tins you need. I bought 5Ltr tins in Wickes last week at £22 with 15% off so not a bad price at £10 for 2.5ltr but it's not the cheapest I've seen them. Look for cashback and voucher code options too

Good price for Dulux. Says covers 32 square metres. Get your tape measure, work it out and allow for 2 coats.
