I didn't know B&M bargains did paint - just looked at some Matt Emulsion Dulux - £18 for 5L in Wickes. £20 for 10L in B&M. Am I missing something?

Clearance on a test pot? 😁

Immoraliste

Which isn't exactly great when DT Weathershield 7.5l tubs are always available at £25 or less, inc VAT (i.e the same £3.33/l, without the farce of messing around with dozens of tester pots).

gunther

£3.33 per litre if you can be bothered with the faff....so voted hot

Bought my second one last week, love them! Last one I got was 9months ago, washes well and still fluffy!

Mysticaltopaz24

unlikely but good if any other Wilko has the paint <3 otherwise on the downside I bought the waffle ( on Tuesday at 1\2 price for £8 ) your throw was back to full price ,so you got a bargain and missed out on the other. The throws are super soft and can recommend. Thx for sharing

Nope have just used 3 colours 2 standard matt & one bathroom silk & all took 2 coats. I did use a nice purple colour one one wall & one area took 3/4 coats as the first layer cracked but suspect that was something wrong with the wall as that happened last time with dulux too

paul123edwards

Thanks OP. Rubbish paint but the code works on anything else from them.

Just used a few different colours in our living room, bathroom & toilet. They had B&Q own brand paints reduced to between £8-£10 per 2.5L & got to say I thought it was really good stuff easily as good as the Dulux we also used on another wall Have used the 2.5L Crown colours before & they were fine. Always wary of these bulk tubs as wonder if its a bit "runny"

stamfordblue

Got a free 1 litre of Crown Trade paint with the Sky Sports offer posted on here last year. Not used yet but will be interesting to see how it is after seeing the "watery" comments on here. 10 litres for £10 is cheap.Heated

iamprobably

just about to plaster an extension so this would be great for watering down for a base coat. thanks op

jacko791

Used a tub of crown paint that was left over when we had decorators in, purchased from local supplier and it was decent stuff. Bought a tub of this exact one from homebase (one I had before was slightly different branding on the tub) and it was useless, seemed similar but really watered down. The original tub I had wasn't labeled as trade, just had very slightly different design on the tub. So it seems there are different grades of crown paint available. This stuff actually comes up thinner than what I would normally mix up for a mist coat.

smokedsausage

Proper Johnstones TRADE is sold in johnstone decor centres is good tackle, a lot of pro decorators like myself use it, their budget range is leyland TRADE is pretty good for the money, the contact matt covers well, better than this coloured water... Buy where the Trade buy is my motto, they will discount and pricematch online prices if you ask (highfive)

Rob.

Used Wilko durable paint in one of our bedrooms; total garbage. Not durable at all, and any minor bits of damage and the paint peels away like clingfilm.

katestewart9279

Ha . On my 2 her palace I think dulux is better or even Johnson's but the Wilkos durable aqua ,should be green, will be ok for bathroom.

shotgun1888

So what do you have in your palace sire...?

katestewart9279

Bought some of this when it was on offer last month. The pink blossom is horrible. Looks more like a cheap gaudy crayon colour. The other one looks like aqua instead of the light green on front. They are like primary schools colours. No subtlety. Kind of tacky cheap colour you see in mates council flats who are skint.

AnnaMak

I tend to use easycare ones. Plus to enter into an award, a company usually has to pay and usually few £k so not all of them do it and awards are very subjective. Personal experience and few tradesmen Dulux over Crown wins and with significant difference.

Works fine as mist coat and top coat. This paint is good on new plaster. Dilute paint 70%paint, 30% water for mist coat. Then 1 - 2 full strength coats, depending on coverage, to finish.

Waheed_Iqbal

Would you guys recommend using this as a mist coat & then as the top coat... Or should I use Dulux for a better finish for the top coat?

samsonprice

Try a different roller. I'm a painter and decorator and use this paint a lot for new plaster, never sprays much with a decent microfiber roller.

Why has this gone so cold? I'm actually interested in something like this. Can anyone recommend a better alternative please?

Doods1875

Connect your Karcher to a pot of paint, same effect and you'll be laughing - power painting.......

kabs

Like spraying your car, could be little to a lot of covering up, does give a better finish I would assume.

How good is this doesn’t paint get everywhere i.e floor etc

I try to pay attention to websites showing the deal ending times so I can add the info. Glad you managed to at least save some money. Time to go off searching for a new one coat deal (y)

Haircut_100

It's a pity it has finished because it was a great deal. I bought quite a few cans last weekend, but it was only yesterday that I got round to using them, when I saw that they were really nice paints (the Bathroom range) I decided to go back and stock up with some others but the deal has gone. Hopefully it will get repeated at some point in the future.

saintsmoney

Thanks for letting us know (y) I have expired the deal

Haircut_100

My wife went to shop to get a couple more cans and unfortunately the offer has ended, the half price signs were gone and the cans went through the till at £15.

I'm finding the same problem with the paints. My guess is they've applied a discount universally and will no doubt rectify it. Hope I'm wrong though because £7.50 for 2.5L of washable and scuff resistant paint is a great deal

Mine doesn’t look too bad, I’ve gone over the kitchen tiles that I wanted white , I’m going to spray gloss over them tommorrow to give them the tile look

MrWani

Awful stuff... I tried to paint some light cream tiles white. Took 4 coats, virtually impossible to put on without drips and drags the brush making it really slow going. Finish looked terrible to boot. Do yourself a favour and re-tile... It'll take less time the finish will be a million times better.

Great car, was surprised with the 1 4t as was going down from a Bmw320d, but no regrets, fun car to drive in town and on motorways, lots of tech too for the price, to behonest i never used much of it as has extra fees after year 1 for the on star and wifi. Origionaly i was put off by the badge to start with but no other model offers similar spec or looks as good inside for the price, i would have got another one had it not been for our greyhound and needing a bigger boot he could get in.

Yes, You are correct on both counts! (flirt)

Probably stupid question, but that doesn't cover insurance does it?
