I agree the game looks good but I go back to my argument that anything over 30 quid for a game, with the exception of a special edition, is not really a good deal. Best price currently for people who have to have it on release though. Personally I can hold fire as until its out and reviewed just having the rockstar name on it doesn't necessarily (though it usually does) guarantee a good game.

When is it due for release?

It says Release date: 20-05-2011 - so hopefully that's accurate.

You think HMV will be the cheapest price for this game and no other retailer will be cheaper between now and release date - I'd happily take a bet against that!

went looking for a collectors edition, but think they are not having one, only DLC with different sellers, Game/Play.com. Shame really. Game looks like will be brilliant

I have some small reservations about this game.

It has GTA style open world play but the problem with games like this that show the world from the police point of view is that it restricts what you can do. I remember True Crime: Streets of LA used to just end the game if you shot too many suspects or accidentally ran over bystanders. I do like the investigating aspect as it reminds me of Police Quest but i'll wait till reviews come in.

Looks like a GTA-Heavy Rain hybrid! Awesome..

I pre-ordered from Zavvi for £32 when they were accepting the 15% off codes, not bothered about getting it right on the day of release since I won't have time to play it that week. If this version comes with an extra mission unlike Zavvi's 'detective suit' I'll probably go for this though. And you'll be waiting awhile for this to come down in price, Rockstar games take forever to go down.

HMV are normally good for preorders. I preordered Heavy Rain Special Edition and received it a day or two before launch

The code will not work for me so I'm guessing it is one code per account as I used it for £5 off a 3DS bundle.

Paying the extra £5 at game gets you an extra case, so I pre-ordered there.

Do they take the money straight away, or upon dispatch?
Cos if it's the former it might be a bit of a gamble, handing your hard earned cash over to a company that's reportedly struggling, and hoping they're around to send you your game in a couple months' time...
