thanks for the info, My days of being part of captain hooks crew are behind me now. Like Norman Fletcher I am going straight, besides, I only want a handful of games for it, at least one of which is on psn+ and i would want to go online.

Or just upgrade the hard drive, it works out cheaper than getting the 500GB model, handy for those who don't mind a little bit of extra effort.

It really is hit and miss though. About 3 months ago purchased 2 x 60GB launch consoles from GAME, both in basically immaculate condition...
Then these 120GB ones turned up which are less than half the age of those and as stated above ^
That's the problem, it only takes one **** to own it and no matter how old it is likely will have been dropped, urinated on and generally abused.
...or it could be fine.
GAME insist on you returning the item yourself, albeit with a freepost address, they won't collect the console if it turns up needing biohazard containment from filthy chav infection.
There obviously won't be a problem getting your money back, but if you're talking a super slim buy, then you might as well cough the extra for a new one or fine one on a forum privately as difference in price isn't worth it.
If it's an old Slim 120GB/250GB for piracy duties, that's different, very hard to get slim PS3s these days that are susceptible to piracy and at this price if you're confident using an E3 flasher worth a shot.
None of these consoles will come with 3.55 or below though. GAME as matter of course always upgrade any PS3 to latest firmware when cashed in.
Erm its a smart blu ray player as well, not forgetting upnp media streaming, lovefilm, iplayer, netflix.
Oh and PS+ for £40 giving 100's of hours of quality gaming.
Get this for a year and then upgrade when PS4 library is more mature (and cheaper!!) and PS+ is in full swing for it

I think I would agree with that. But it's a good price if you're just in it for the last of us or something.

Yeah, I was thinking for parents buying for their kids mainly and going for the cheaper option. Didn't realise (even though I have a super slim now) that if you do add a HDD it doesn't wipe existing data where the older models did which was a pain for me before

500gb one is a good deal unless you have a spare hdd lying around, then the 12gb version is an absolute steal!

Not by much. By the time you've bought the bracket, the hard-drive and a game, you may as well get the Last of Us bundle off Amazon for £210. Not to mention that the last screw-up by Sony broke all PS3's with non-official hard-drives for a day or so.
Hardly. I make it about £180 for the PS3, bracket, 1TB hard drive and the last of us. Plus of course there is no obligation to buy the last of us so it could be around £145 for a 1TB PS3 slim, and whatever points you'd get from Game.
