So much is missing and gameplay is always patchy at best. I buy it every year. I haven't grabbed it yet but I already know it'll be miles off so many sport games

Right... All them positive reviews must be wrong, also it's okay if a game is too difficult for you.

You mad bro!? Seriously, this is the greatest football/sports game ever made, it's normal for tesco to allow a new release to drop low not long after release to try entice people into their stores (I know I've worked there long enough!) it's been done with cod and FIFA before.

Konami suck for how they treated kojima but that's a whole other situation, konami put 100% into pes games again for the first time since 2008, FIFA needs competition because it's a copy paste franchise, the FIFA 2017 demo is very very poor imo, and it was a shame as I had high hopes since they decided to try the new engine (frostbite) basically it's mutton dressed as lamb.

Wow surely not ? Game is incredible. Everyone either likes FIFA/PES so always starts a stupid argument but I'm a PES man, the game is brilliant. Everyone's entitled to there opinion but god knows how it starts with people throwing there toys out the pram lol And if its just the usual not real team names etc that stops you buying it, there's an incredible option file made (pesworld) which you can now use ur USB with and takes mins to get official strips etc

Deluded alert maybe? Or maybe you prefer playing a game that takes the realism out of it with merseyside vs london. Brilliant. Awesome.

    Option Files, my friend.

P.S. Nothing delusional with me. I prefer a realistic game of football.

Way back in the day fifa was miles ahead of pes then around fifa 5 they dropped the ball and pes became my footie game of choice but after a couple of bad releases pes was blown out of the water by fifa, not least of all due to actually having real licensed names (shock horror). Now fifa is clearly my game of choice and having played the demo of the journey and read a number of well respected reviews i know it will be a winner again. Do u have anything to back up your small and pointless comment??

Fifa 5 is around pro evolution 4? That was the golden generation for pro evolution not FIFA. From iss pro all the way to pro evo 6

I still haven't played a PES game that matches the game play of ISS Pro … I still haven't played a PES game that matches the game play of ISS Pro on the Playstation. Maybe rose tinted spectacles but it was just amazing when that came out, the whole ISS series was. Then it went down hill with PES and gave up after PES 5 and jumped ship to Fifa. I did get PES 2015 but still wasn't impressed.

You didn't play PES6? You literally missed out on the best football game ever.

well said mate, fifa 17 demo is rank!
the physics on the ball in pro EVO just feels like real football. if pro EVO had proper kits etc like fifa does,I don't think fifa would sell a a single copy!
but there's just not telling some folks, fifa fans prob haven't even looked at pro EVO and think they know it all.
I personally try both every year and last year pro EVO was much much better than fifa, fifa hasn't moved gameplay wise for bout 5 years!
  29. tony_spumoni's avatar
I prefer PES to Fifa for the gameplay. Much more realistic pace, tempo and physics (only have to see how many comedy fifa videos there are on YouTube)

Yes Fifa has the Polish, the sky sports tie-ins and official kits/grounds, but it also has the "every shot on target" function and constant amount of Rainbow flicks (it's an ozzie flick) and lollypops.

This year's PES also has the ability to download the full kit and names option file.

Great deal - I'm off to tesco now

What is it about PES? A few years ago, it was 'uncool' to like it. Now, anyone who prefers FIFA seems to be getting lambasted for enjoying it. PES is great -- I think FIFA plays a better game of football at this point in time. I don't understand why that generates so much hate. Why can't we just be happy that we've got two amazing football games on the market?

PES' golden age was the PS2 days, so the fact you think FIFA was better during part of that gen is funny in itself. FIFA has improved over the last few years, but PES has clawed it's way back and offers a much better game of football IMO. PES will never compete with FIFA on the sales front thanks to those that can't look past a few licenses that can be fixed in a matter of mintues.

Couldn't care less about reviews. Certain outlets have rated the worse PES' 8-9 out of ten.

Fantastic price- bought at £42.99 on release day from GAME (eventually had to use my credit) and definitely don't regret that at all.

Probably the best football game ever made, and actually requires a certain degree of tactical nous. The AI is fantastic, really making you work to score a goal and most importantly, the game is FUN.

Compared to FIFA, a lazy copy-and-paste job of previous iterations, where pace is king and the through ball is spam-king, PES is a must buy.

Disappointed by the FIFA demo myself. Game played identical to FIFA 15 (the last FIFA I owned), and saw nothing at all impressive with the new engine. Also, The Journey is just Be-A-Pro in new packaging...where you can't even create your own character. Good job.

PES for me this year- truly exceptional

you are comparing Fifa (EA pay millions of pound each year license) with PES (Konami save on license and spend money on gameplay and development) - im happy to get a better game and patch the names

i had an amazing version of world soccer winning 11!
