sorted byPoint me to a PC that can play bloodborne uncharted and the last of us will you please.
From someone who has done both (Built gaming rigs since the days the Voodoo 3Dfx accelerator cards, and used consoles since the NES) - You sir, are making the kind of ill-informed generic statements the gaming community has been trying to wipe out since the 90's...
If used purely for casual gaming, then a a console is a far better cost/time proposition. No driver updates, a consistent hardware platform and a price tag under £300 for a complete setup makes it a no brainer. The current downsides (Lack of consistent 60fps and 1080p) are unimportant for two reasons.
- 1080p is unimportant on a screen smaller than 32"
- 60fps is only noticeable on a side-by-side comparison, or on intense action sequences
If you are a hardcore gamer, then you are going to spend more..... *much* more. Twin IPS panels are a minimum, and the CPU / Video card alone will go over the price of this. In fact, a total of £600 will still put you firmly in the *budget* range for a gaming rig not even including accessories.
Yes, you are getting the potential for a multi-use machine (streaming, video-capture, CAD) but then you are seriously paying for it, and putting your work machine through the cycle of upgrade / driver updates / tweaks that modern PC gaming demands....
So in short - You are wrong, please do some research and realise that people have a choice - get over it.
You need to add shipping onto that which brings it up to about the same price.
Monday morning just changed for me, I am happy now after reading this dribble. Happy Monday everyone (_;). Free choice of what you want to do people listen to no one you decide what's best for you

You need to read this, mate.
1080p does matter
Or to save you the trouble - Using the calculator included you need to be within 3ft of the screen on a 24" inch panel for 1080p (1920x1080) to begin to be apparent. And that is side-by-side with a 720p display.
And as for the specsavers comment, you may to take your own advice - I didn't state that I could not tell them apart side-by-side, I stated that you would need them side-by-side to discern differences easily...
At the end of the day, consoles and PC's as gaming rigs are two differing entities (You can argue that consoles are now simply proprietary PC's now, similar to Apple TV with gaming as a secondary function). So please stop trying to re-ignite the console-vs-PC war that died over a decade ago after we all grew up and realised how stupid it was.
Alternatively, please go build me a £300 windows gaming rig (I'll be nice, no need to buy a monitor but be sure for a HDMI output) including wireless accessories to sit under the TV and run Netflix, iPlayer, play games at 720p or 1080p @60fps (since that is what you are complaining that my PS4 cant do) depending on how the designer made them...
oh, don't forget the 5 year life span of the hardware, self-updating, share-play and other assorted rubbish that the PS4 comes with that you will be replacing.......

What sort of gaming PC would you recommend instead of this deal?
I've had a look online but just a decent processor costs what this deal is
Yeah, I'm sure BB can be got for £30, so £20 for 3 months Ps+? Hmmm
you cannot get a gaming PC for this price.
You certainly could, but it'd be a low end one.
Games aren't necessarily more expensive if you know what you're doing. I'm amused that people still have this 'consoles for kids' attitude. It's apples and oranges.
£300 for the privilege of playing last gens rehashes at a stunning 720-900p and 30fps at best seems a terrible purchasing decision.

That's very true but it's still do-able though.
To be fair he has a valid point. Try running GTA for example at 1080p and decent graphics on a £300 build and get decent FPS.
I am a PC gamer and I have a pretty good machine, but this post is rubbish
Consoles have their place and are much more than just normal plug in game machines now (Sky, Netflix, Amazon Prime etc)
For the money, you'd be hard pushed to get a PC that would run games that look and play as well as the PS4 does
Also console is cheaper in the lomg run ps3 lasted 8 years and if you get a graphics card from when PS3 released I think that card will manage 480p just about.
Those two reasons are BS. You can easily see the difference between 720p and 1080p on screens lower than 32". It is important and if you can't tell the difference between 30fps and 60fps with a side by side comparison you shouldn't even be gaming. You should be at Specsavers.
That said, 75% of the games I play on my PC (RPG's, simulations, RTS and most indie titles) I wouldn't want to play on my console, and the same goes for my console games (Action adventure, sports, fighting) I wouldn't want to play on my PC. There's probably only a handful of games that I genuinely feel are ideal for both - mostly Action / RPG hybrids like Skyrim, Dark Souls and Witcher tbh.

Sorry I have to disagree about consoles being cheaper in the long run. Most AAA games on PC new ones cost around £20 so say you buy ten a year that's £200 where as let's average the console games to £40 a game so the same ten games will cost you £400. So potentially it is a saving of £200 a year. £200 across 8 years is £1600.
That's enough to buy mid level graphics card every 3-4 years and still not drop under the £1000 savings mark. Obviously though this is all theortical and it varies from person to person.

Great deal for anyone not yet part of next-gen. We're about to be spoiled within the next year so what better time to hop over.
About a week and a half ago with the Amazon misprice
£270 for white PS4, TLOU, Project Cars, Witcher 3 and 3 months PsPlus
Lolll you pay £40 for games? Why are you on HUKD?
This is all theoretically speaking as I said and we are just throwing averages about. If you have any sort of a decent counter argument feel free to post it and i'll take you serious.
I have a pc, and agree that they are better, but consoles aren't just for kids, you get console exclusives and some people can't afford a decent gaming pc, or know how to maintain one.
HUKD isn't about whether you perceive the item to be of value, but if the price presented is a good one in comparison to the other prices available. Although I'm sure trying to troll console-users is a great use of time that you could be spending playing games, no?
Yh but this is a UK console so no need to buy UK plug or adapter (or may need to buy a better quality plug if one is included) and this console will actually be factory sealed which maybe worth the extra £10 for some people.
I did correct myself and say 'without' a side by side comparison but whatever. As for that article well done captain obvious "With a 50" TV the difference between a 720p and 480p TV become apparent" I'd never have guessed xD very informative. Anyone can tell the difference between 720p and 1080p and you only need to play a game for a bit to see the difference between 30fps and 60fps.
I am not starting a console war, I don't care just don't sprout BS. PC isn't for everyone I know that, where did I say you can build a PC with better specs for the same money? Where did I say PC is better than a games console? Oh yeah nowhere.
NO, BAD, BAD!
The title of your deal was a bit unclear to me. I thought 3 months Ps+ and elder scrolls is also included?
So can you get a ps4 console and Ps tv and 3 Month PS Plus and elderly scrolls for £295?
