I feel like a fool knowing how the HUKD community is not fan of RPGs and the collector's editions, yet posting this deal up. X) The game to me looks like a novel idea. You won't play an RPG game only, but you design and make one for yourself first! To me that means I will have my own version of FF!

The game itself currently can be had for £39.99 (preorder, obviously, Amazon). For £10 more you are getting the stuff below. If you know NIS you also know the stuff they sell hardly lose their value.

How would things like customising characters and scenery work with this? … How would things like customising characters and scenery work with this? Is there a huge number of stock sprites available to use? It's an interesting idea!

Interesting. I wonder how long it would take for people to recreate some of the FF series.

Mucho heat.... awesome idea and special edition looks great and that'll keep its value for sure.

"Of course, creating your dream game wouldn't be much fun if you had to keep it to yourself, and RPG Maker Fes is built from the ground up to allow for easy online sharing. The most exciting part is that your audience won't be limited to only those who own the creation kit — anyone with a 3DS will be able to play full games made in RPG Maker Fes by downloading a free companion app from the eShop. This is an absolutely fantastic idea, and perhaps Fes' best move: every 3DS owner will gain access to a free library of passion projects, while creators get to build games they can share with the world, rather than just a select in-group of players."

    that sounds amazing!!!

Yeah that is what I read too. It just adds so much replay value to it. It is a never ending source of RPG games, haha.

Yeah and looking at tools and options you know people will create bigger and better RPGs than retail... some people will sink their lives into this... I am now just dreaming if Nintendo did similar with all their licensed characters available... drool....

Hopefully they will add a rating system. As much as I love the idea, I don't have as much spare time for games as I used to and don't want to commit to something that is naff (I am sure my own creations will be).

Around yes, in Europe? No. It may not be new (really) but it is unique at least, to be fair.

I used to use RPG Maker 2000 (RM2k) and that was pretty good, bit hit and miss with the application translations depending on the source, but this is highly recommended if it is similar and properly localised
