If you are going to upgrade manually read XDA carefully and do not use the CF root kernel. Great phone by the way. Don't let the size put you off. I've had mine for 2 weeks and it no longer feels big at all! ICS running very nicely on it also

The chance of that happening is extremely low, to brick your phone past the point of fixing it yourself...well if you followed all the instructions then I really feel sorry for you. I've flashed hundreds of ROMs onto my and my friends and families phones and never once had a problem I couldn't fix. Let's not scaremonger people here!

Great phone/tablet just regretting upgrading to ice cream sandwich!

Why you regretting it for? I've upgraded mines and it much faster and smoother now and also getting better battery life.

I updated mine via kies air (which is official) & with ICS the phone is now slower, more buggy and battery life hasn't been altered. Connecting to wi-fi and mobile data is slower and certain important widgets (email) don't refresh. Overall I'm gutted. Can I revert back to gingerbread? And how would I do it?

You dont have to use Amazon currency converter, I opted out so the credit card supplier will do the conversion.

I'm also regretting upgrading to ICS. I bricked the phone when I used CMW to wipe. Word of advise for you stay clear of CMW or stock recovery. Do not do any wipes or try restoring to factory settings (even in the phone settings); haha. I have sent mine for repair, hopefully it gets repaired.

No problems with mines, wiped with stock recovery, everything went fine. Updated in 5 mins via odin.

It went out of stock for a while. And to get the true price you have to add to basket and go all they way through to final screen just before confirming order which adds a few euros and postage fee (try post 1)......how many times, how many threads (_;)

you never get xe currency converter rates.

You will get your bank card rates - prob add £10-£20 to this price

EDIT: didnt see bigbugs already mentioned this... OP should increase price in fairness

Can the original poster explain how to pay by XE's rate? Cos when you pay by debit/credit card it is totally different rate. Deal should be really exparied.

Only had this phone for a day, but loving it already. Screen is fantastic! Feels like I can organise my entire life with this thing.
  33. deleted389171's avatar
Yeah the xe rates are quite different from the actual rate of conversion. The price is misleading.

Can I just ask, the people who have bought this from amazon.de - have you insured it anywhere? I only ask as I just called 3's insurance (I have 18 months left of a contract left with them, my S2 was stolen and shady insurers didn't pay out) and they said they would insure it for theft and loss but that it had to be bought in the UK, with proof of postage, etc.

Just wondering if any of you guys have managed to get it insured elsewhere, as it will definitely be the clincher for me to go ahead and order.

Is the ICS officially out now? That will be my green light signal for purchase.

Cold xe is not a true representation of exchange in a purchase situation. It's your banks or card issuers exchange rate used plus around 2-5% exchange fee

did you bother to read the posts properly? You can use Amazons exchange so only GBP appears on your statement, XE.com is just to work it out without having to click through to the checkout to get the price!
