This is a joke of a deal. The Currys/PCWorld price match is mentioned on almost every tablet thread on here, there's no need to pollute the rest of HUKD with unnecessary posts.

Anyway, when i phoned up Currys to price match they asked me "why don't you just get it from Tesco then if it's cheaper?" I explained it's because of the cashback on the cases and he said i can't have the best of both worlds.

Go to John Lewis, I'd pay a solid 10% extra to avoid the monkeys in Currys.

Go onto the xbox live website and register your Amex card. Once done they will give you a PIN thingy. Log onto your xbox and on the bottom right of the home page you'll see Amex.

Enter the code & you'll get £10 credit. Register for the CPW deal on that same page and you get £25 credit on a £50 purchase.

£149 - (£30 Samsung cashback, £10 for registering you Amex & £25 credit for the CPW deal) = £84.

Takes minutes to do & I received the credits immediately for the £10 and within seconds of the purchase on the Tab.

Currys £299
Less price match (£61)
Less 10% diff (£6.10)
Case 12.99
Currys cashback (£30)
Samsung c/bck (£50)
Total £164.89 (including £12.99 case)

Beware currys cashback will not be paid for at least 72 days, they say you need to wait 30 days to claim currys c/back before claiming from Samsung but going to give it a go before then as i dont think samsung know this

Depends what your priorities are; The nexus 7 has a quad-core, this is *only* a dual core, but has a microSD slot. My brother got around his 8GB nexus 7's limited capacity by buying a cheap OTG cable & installing the 'media installer' app, then just connecting a USB key to watch vids etc. He has a case for it too so the USB key fits snugly along with the tablet.
I'd go for the Nexus 7 myself.

I think I was lucky as I got the price at

I got a case for £14.99 so will be able to get £20 back from Curry (what the staff told me even if they match the price) plus the £30 from Samsung which is the £50 off.

I was told by Currys store Hermiston Gait, Edinburgh that they would price match/beat CPW (now £148.00 instore) BUT they have been told by Head Office that this would CANCEL the Currys Cashback (£20...when bought with cheapest case at £9.99) AND the Samsung Cashback (£30). This would therefore make the deal £199.99 less £50 (with case) OR £144.99 as price match less the 10% difference.
I emailed Currys Help Team a few days ago for confirmation either way.... but...surprise surprise...NO REPLY. (_;)

I've just bought one from PC World in East Kilbride, the sales guy reluctantly price promised John Lewis but would not put the case through with the tablet ( thus making PC World cashback unclaimable?)

Has to argue the point of getting the extra 10% of the difference price promise!!

Got one from PC world last night Plymouth. Price matched Carphone Warehouse 15 miles away in Tavistock after a heated debate about company policy with the manager. They tried to tell me I would not get samsung cashback as price matched. Laughed at that. They tried to not give 10% of difference. I sent the guy off to the manager, and when he came back he gave me 10% off total.... HA HA. So :-

Price promise -£37.69
Total £142.29. -£20 PCW cashback, -£30 samsung cashback = £92.29. and 5% quidco for reserve and collect.
Took half an hour in store. Was it worth it ? Debatable, but a moral victory won.

They used to provide a price match guarantee upto 7 days after purchase, so go for it.

wait 5 more days and amazon will do the black friday lightning deals - you will find some great tablets and other electrical goods with upto 80% off , and if you dont get a tablet then im sure within 1 weeks time some other ukhd member will find this same tablet for cheaper

If not just ask for a refund, they will give you a refund with no questions asked within 7 days then just buy it again at the discounted price

I too would refuse to use Currys again, even after i told the manager that CPW (30 seconds walk from Currys) had some in stock he stuck by his "i phoned them yesturday and they had none" So i walked out and paid the extra in CPW who, surprise surprise, had 6 in stock. F**k you Currys.

You get it price matched to £145 and then you claim £30 from Samsung and £20 from currys but you have to buy a case to claim the £20

Said they only do one offer at a time

..so £199 - £55 = £144 + £8.99 for case (£9.99 less 10% discount from instore leaflet) = £152.99 to pay
