Wow how many dam tv mounts are there lol

Just make sure you buy a bracket that has a maximum VESA size of 200x200. When installing on an internal wall make sure you screw into the wooden batons so the wall can support the weight. You can buy a stud wall detector like this to help you - direct.tesco.com/q/R…spx

Brackets like these would be ok - direct.tesco.com/q/R…spx or direct.tesco.com/q/R…spx

I don't get this obsession with 1080p and 32" TV. I've got a 42" Samsung plasma HD ready - the picture is terrific even at that size - vibrant colours, great night time detail etc. Terrestrial HD is 720p, and it could even be that a tv which is native 720p shows a better picture than one which needs to downsample 1080 to 720. Some people lose sight of the fact that resolution is one factor, but other factors may lead to a better picture on a 720p TV than one which is 1080p. I've played back copies of bluray HD files which were reduced to below 720 resolution and they look fantastic. Let's keep it in perspective. This Sharp tv is likely more than capable of doing main viewing duties. Anyhow, just bought one and voted hot fwiw :-)

Can I recommend editing the price of this deal to £184? Might be worth putting in the title "£184 (with code) to collect or £189 with delivery".

    Should get even more heat!

Got the tv yesterday and mixed feelings about it. I'm going to give it a few days and see if I can settle with it. Else, will return to Tesco for refund.

Thoughts so far, in case it helps others - niggles first:

    1. Subjectively, I don't find the shape and design attractive.
    2. Remote control not the most intuitive and there's an irritating lag between pushing a button and seeing the result. EPG is not the best and gives little detail.
    3. Media playback through usb port - plays about half of the media files I've tried, which means plenty will not play. It will cope with MP3 playback, and using digital out, the sound is quite good. It won't play FLAC (my own preference)
    4. Picture - standard definition freeview is not as good as I've seen or was hoping for. Bit fuzzy and vague. I've adjusted settings to improve this and it is better, but not as I'd like. It also varies greatly according to the quality of the programme and channel, which is usual.

With high definition, the picture gets much better. I've tried bluray and high definition avi files. Detail and colours pretty good, but dark scenes are not as detailed as I'm used to. Picture, IMO, lacks that cinematographic feel that helps you to immerse yourself in a programme (I've a samsung plasma also 720p, that is much better in this respect). Colours pretty good, but not especially vibrant such that scenes 'come to life'.
    5. Sound is reasonable for flat screen - but life is much better if the TV speakers are bypassed for external amp/speakers or headphones. I hardly use TV speakers because of their shortcomings.
    6. Conclusion: the TV feels budget; the price at present is undoubtedly low and VFM; picture compromised for me on standard definition which is mostly what I watch; high definition pretty good when adjusted but still lacking for my own preference. So, I've done an about face on this TV - before I bought, thought it could do duty in a lounge. Now, I'm more inclined to bedroom use, but it's not the most attractive IMO and I don't yet know if I can live with its foibles. Final thought - it has a fixed power cable, so you're stuck with that cable and length as far as I can see. Might this restrict its use in some places?

Hope this helps others. It is cheap, but not really what I was hoping for.

Saw this instore earlier for the same price, very good price, considering nearly a year ago I bought for the bedroom a Sharp 32" TV (different model) for this price as an opening offer at Best Buy, and here we are a year later seeing these prices on branded TVs hitting stores normally.

Had a Sharp 32" LCD TV for close on 3 years now. It's been excellent and I've never ever regretted buying it. Great picture especially in HD and good sound. I paid close to £500 for mine so £199 is ultra cheap.

Have to say, really pleased with ours for a bedroom tv, nearly a year old now, bought from Best Buy last year opening offer (32DH510) and like this it plays video from USB.

There are no 1080i TV's on sale, this is a 720p set. LCD's by their own nature can't display interlaced pictures, only progressive ones.

This set can accept a 1080i signal but will scale the image to the native resolution of the panel.

Got a 26" of these couple of years ago for the bedroom from Next.
Cracking TV.........Cost £160 at the time and that was a bargain.
Go for this at this price.

    Thanks, just ordered.

£15 off when you use the code TDX-TNPR so £184 in total. It wouldn't let me select a delivery date at checkout so went for the collect option which saved a fiver anyway!

Edit: Didn't realise the code was mentioned in the OP, was so eager to order before it goes out of stock I googled and found the code elsewhere!

There are very few 720p (1280 x 720) sets on the market, this set has a native resolution of WXGA (1366 x 768).

If the set does not accept 1080p video signals for most people that shouldn't be an issue. However, if like me you use a HDMI matrix (or plan to in the future), I would suggest you stump up the extra for a set which can accept 1080p video signals. As it can become pretty annoying having to switch video output settings on source devices for one TV, let alone potential EDID issues.

I find it strange that anyone would want to buy a 720p tv when you can get a decent 1080p one for only a little more (lg ld450 for ~ £240) definitely not necessary at this size but still
  37. bobo53's avatar
this is an absolete screen. for few pounds more you can get 1080p. Can easily be used as monitor for pc but at 1080p, make a lot more sense.

Most people (almost every woman on the planet and a lot of men) don't really care about 1080p. They'd rather save £50, especially for a bedroom telly.
