Every time I see this I am more and more tempted, but my tatty OSF seems to be struggling along ok at the moment. Hot deal though, can't see the price dropping much further in the forseeable.

well i guess right that the new rrp is around the 150 mark, i expect this to drop a bit when peeps undercut the rrp.

I bet there will be a huge surge in sales for this phone over any other smartphone on the market for months to come. Almost firesale price, just wondering if Sony have a strategy to flood the market with android games.... I hope so!
#11
Anyone have one of these? What they like as a phone?

Giff Gaff is 02, really tempted
#14
So, so , so tempting........want the slim and sext Arc S though....but for the price, this is hot.

Still tempted.

Any comments on this vs the Arc S as a phone ?
#15
Do the phones have o2 branding printed on them?
#16
Bought this two days ago for £170 :(

That was unlocked and came with a dock but used for 2 days.

Only if I waited!

yep true my friend works for o2 said if you want it unlocked by them before the year cost £15 to unlock
#18
...and what's it like?
#19
Tempted, as I am on GiffGaff and need to replace my San Francisco.

However, I'm really put off by the poor reviews re. screen brightness, laggy browsing and wobbly slider mechanism. Think I'll probably go for a Liquid Acer Metal from Expansys instead.
#20
Hmmmm, is this 8gb or 16gb? Also surely there's a way to unlock it from your pc?

my friend works for o2 says the arc and the neo both with the play are being discontinued if you want these phone pick them up now

Arc s will still be available to replace the arc arc is slim sexy phone with a good screen and faster and better cam no front facing cam

but the play is a beast of a phone and keypad

as a phone by itself arc s is better but as a gaming device play is miles better

depends on yer needs
#22
Will be £150 or less everywhere soon. Hot now, will be freezing next week ;)

It's a bit like a phone...
And a bit like a PSP :D
#24
I understand that obviously. We've had someone post on here saying they have the phone so will be nice to know if its anygood? And a comparison would be nice.

Even if you won't use the Playstation features much this is a cheap decent quality Android phone. Hot.

I'd like that too, although I'm more interested in the PSP side. It comes with 8 games, apparently.

"Get 6 preloaded titles on your Xperia PLAY: The Sims 3, Star Battalion, Tetris, FIFA 2010, Crash Bandicoot and Bruce Lee Dragon Warriors. You can also download 2 games for free: Asphalt 6 & Tom Clancy's Rainbow 6"

I'm curious as to the other games available, is it similar to PSN or is it closer to casual stuff/psp minis? Don't really care about the latter, I'm still fine with the snake game on my nokia.

Do GiffGaff sims work in all o2 locked phones?
#29
is there a cheaper way of getting it unlocked other than taking it to o2?

That's not what the website says ... it says £15 after a year and by implication they dont unlock within first 12 months.

I got one from the Chitter Chatter deal and it is awesome, I've been playing Dead Space non-stop on it and also downloaded Assassin's creed for £3, there's a whole bunch of free games as well. While the Chitter Chatter deal was better because of all the free stuff that came with the phone, this deal is £5 cheaper. There's also an imminent release of a 2.3.4 update and Sony has confirmed there will be a Ice Cream Sandwich update for all xperia devices released in 2011. Only negative is the phone is quite bulky compared to galaxy and iphone

So many cheap phones, but this is a great price for a very unique phone, not tempting/good enough to part me from my precious 5" dell streak though.......can I justify 2 phones????

Actually the streak is about the size of 2 phones on it's on, I think I'll pass :(

It is bulky but not anywhere as near as I expected! It's about as fat as a nokia 5800 and i'm sure everyone had one of those!

Kinda fancy one of these to tide me over for a few months until I can upgrade my Tmobile contract (end of Dec) - plan is to snag one and sell my Desire while there is still good value in it (approx. £130 atm) - so when this hits £150 unlocked it will be dragging my wallet out :-)
Good find, heat added, albeit not the unlocked version I need........c'mon other places !
