Essentially, who cares?
The Playstation eco system is something else to consider. Sure PC now get some of these exclusives, but they come out later than normal and often aren't optimised well, see Last of Us.
Was almost tempted back then, not so much now without the game.
Not sure how Sony can justify a Pro console right now though. If they follow the same trend as the PS4 Pro they'd be doubling performance, that means hitting 3070 levels. Ray Tracing is the big stumbling block though, for that they'd need to aim for 3090 levels of performance at the absolute bare minimum, and it'd likely need RDNA3 to achieve decent FPS. Currently Nvidia's ray tracing implementation is superior to AMD's.
If developers still have to give the option to sacrficie resolution for performance then it's not worth it, at least not for the next 3-4 years.
The PS5 should have a longer lifespan than previous generations due to the COVID and availability issues for a solid two years after launch. (edited)
