Nice price drop considering the RRP was confirmed as £49.99 by Konami.

Since its release in 1985, Bomberman has been a familiar party-battle game for many years. Now, Bomberman is coming back as "SUPER BOMBERMAN R" to Nintendo Switch.

In SUPER BOMBERMAN R, the simple rule remains the same: operate the main character (Bomberman), place bombs, and battle with enemies and rivals, but it's coming back in a modern style with 3D stages and photo-real graphics. You can enjoy battles with rivals from all over the world.

There is "Battle" mode for maximum of 8 players, and single play "Story" mode (cooperative play for 2 players is possible as well) where players clear each stage one by one, with a big volume of 50 stages. Also, there is a new rule where the condition to clear the stage is not just by wiping out all the enemies. This simple but strategic game with new rules and 3D stages is fun for everyone, from children to adults.

Features:
Bomberman is back with the same game system and controllability with a fresh take on a classic title

Photo-real graphics

Bomberman's siblings and well-known enemies are back with rich personality

3D stages with dynamic environments

Battle mode for maximum of 8 players, local connection battles, and online battles

Enriched story with all-star voice actors

Still £22.84 too much.

Does the R stand for rip-off?

I am a massive Bomberman fan but couldn't justify £43 on a game.

Not voting either way as it does seem like a deal with the heat.

All third party launch games will be peanuts shortly after the launch. Anyone that pays rrp for this has more money than sense!

The f**k!? I mean, what is this, the (early) 90's? I've enjoyed previous Bomberman"s, but if (for example) Axiom Verge and Shantae can be picked up new for roughly £15 these days, what makes Bomberman a near £50 game?

Same. Although this is the best reason for me to get a switch so far. I remember the days of link cables bomberman games!

I understand it has loads of levels but this is an arcade game at best, a shame though as it looks great but should have an arcade price £25-30 TOPS

Me thinks the haters were people who always blew themselves up at the start of a battle. (_;) I've been playing 93, 94, and original (actually have hucard of that one) to death recently and there still cool. Crazy money currently for this though and i Heart bman.

Edited By: otterboxer on Jan 23, 2017 21:28: er Bomberman doesnt need a reason.

Willyzippy89, Multiplayer Bomberman is one of the best gaming experiences you can have. Snes, Core Grafx (pc engine) the Saturn or any other of the billions of ports, its all good.

"Photo-real graphics"?

Presumably when compared to using a 0.5 megapixel camera from the '90s! :p

Good price for the game, and I love Bomberman, but £40 is way too much for me.

Just knock it on the head now. Mass Effect Andromeda is out in around 8 weeks, and it's eagerly anticipated by myself, but not at £43.

And don't even give me any of this nations favourite malarkey. £43 for Bomberman. You've got to be having a bubble :D

Early adopters may have to resort to paying this as there won't be a lot else to play once they've finished Zelda and gotten fed up milking imaginary cows.

Loved Bomberman on the SNES but this seems like a step back, at least the N64 Bomberman tried to do something different, this is just going back to the same old formula. That's not the problem though, the problem is the ludicrous price tag, are they for real?!?!?!? Much better games coming in the next few months for that price.

That line really made me chuckle

Well... It's a start. Hopefully others will follow and drop even further. 42 is still pretty crazy for this.
#32
Cant wait to play this but it will be £20 in a few months I bet.

This probably won't drop as Much as people think, nor will any switch game, due to low competition and the fact its on a cart.

30fps on this is disgraceful frankly.

Don't know if anyone else has mentioned it, but why does this game have a strange tilted camera angle? It used to be straight in the original games. I only ever had Super Bomberman 2 on the SNES, which was really good at the time.

Love bomberman and was awesome when I had it on the snes. Multiplayer games today just ain't the same as you and 3 mates sitting round a 14 inch TV for 6 hours solid.

Good point and not sure what that is about either. Perhaps it has something to do with the 2D/3D mix? Still has 2D style maps yet with 3D image characters and other features. To be modern it had to have some element of a 3DS appearance, and it looks like there is boss battles too. Would be nice if they had some retro level stuff included for us oldies, but probably won't.

I only came on to this to see if everybody else was thinking this is £20 too much , it's like they are trying to remake the snes Mario kart bomberman
