The trouble is you would still be in Scotland

Television, telephone, electromagnetics, steam engine, bicycle, pneumatic tyre, ultrasound, postage stamps, radar, penicillin, fridge, flushable toilet etc... etc...

Do without all of these, and their successors(ie. the device you're using right now), or be a good little troll and respect some culture.

Such tiring, ill informed ignorance and racism. Reading forums these days is the equivalent of turning over a rock.

Being a Scot I've decided to ignore the first comment. The deal gets heat from me.

Makes the £7500 a year season ticket expense seem so stupid. The GDP of a small African country.

The steam engine was not invented by James Watt, he merely improved on earlier designs by two Englismen, Thomas Newcomen and Thomas Savery. John Logie Baird didnt invent television, again he merely improved on the spinning disc system invented by Paul Gottlieb Nipkow, a German. And dont get me started on the whole myth that Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone, surely the most egregious error one can make regarding inventions. Many before him had invented Electro-magnetic transmitters and receivers including most notably Elisha Gray, whose system Bell copied and patented. And as for your claim about Bicycles, it has no merit whatsoever. Karl von Drais is widely considered to be the inventor of the Bike. Rowland Hill, an Englisman invented the postal stamp and the whole postal system we use today. Ultrasound is again another invention that is claimed to be Scottish. Ian Donald merely implemented Austrian Doctor Karl Theodore Dussik's design. Also Carl Paul Gottfried von Linde, a German is widely accepted as the inventor of the refrigerator.

Radar is definately a Scottish invention though, as is penicillin, both hugely important inventions. But why you think having certain inventions attributed to Scottish people has any bearing on the state of Scotland as a place to live in beyond me.
