Price delivered, summer tyre but good all-rounder for wet weather.

Fuel Efficiency: C / Wet Grip: A / Noise (dB): 71 / Noise (Bars): 2
Optimally combines the advantages of asymmetrical and directional tread patterns that result in shorter braking disances, high levels of grip when cornering, and a quieter interior noise throughout the lifetime of the tyre.
Benefits from 'Shark Skin' technology - which ensures that water is channeled more quickly out of the longitudinal grooves, resulting in greater protection against aquaplaning.
Designed with more grip edges which improve contact of the tyre with the road surface, resulting in shorter braking distances on wet surfaces.

Great tyre and certainly not an uncommon size. Very common on Vauxhalls. Not a particularly special price though. I had 2 fitted by event-tyres on the driveway at home for £120 at the beginning of the year so when you add fitting, balancing and disposal to the Amazon price it probably works out more expensive.

I always found Nexen to be the best value for money, very good price for fully fitted tyre:

    Charming.

    Look at this

33% of reviews say this tyre wears prematurely, so is this a saving on a £65 tyre that doesn't wear prematurely? Nope.

Might as well just buy winter tyres that also work better in snow and ice?

I agree, I always end up using the likes of event tyres, after weighing up all the hassle/cost of finding a fitter etc. Much prefer just handing keys over and having new tyres fitted, without going anywhere.

I use camskill quite often and they will beat any price if you send them details/links of the product(s) cheaper.
    excellent customer service too.

I use these as my summer tyres 17" though

Had a new set this year, will change to winters later today. Got mine from lovetyre, as they price beat camskill at the time, not sure if they still offer that though
Have worn well over quite a few thousand miles, great rain displacement and owned by continental (though weirdly by michelin in America)

Bought these last winter for my Mondeo. They offer superb grip but as a result of the soft rubber compound they only lasted just over 7.000 miles.

It's robbery that the one size up from these that my Mondeo takes (215/55/16) are over £30 more per tyre.

I echo the above. Amazing wet grip, but just had a shock to see only 2mm left when only done around 8k!!

For an extra £10 a tyre I'd buy the Uniroyal MS Plus 77, which I actually did in Sept for our MINI but for less than £40 each in a slightly smaller fitting, they are wisper quiet and have taken some of the harshness out of the ride, they remain grippy below 7 degrees which is now most mornings and are still helping to get 64-72 mpg commuting 450 miles a week.

A great performer for the price according to the Germans.

Because most people have them - tyres that is maybe not cheap ones. I for one find it useful as against endless other cheap junk being posted. But the site is here for all of us not just me or you even.

Just to debunk the high wear rumours:

I drive a 2006 2 litre 143bhp diesel Mazda 6 and I don't hang around. All four corners have these tyres on them.

I just went out to measure the tread left with vernier calipers and:

The back two have done 7000 miles and have 5.5mm left.

The front two have done around 2000 miles and have 7mm left.

you could safely get a way with 55s, the difference is minimal. I certainly would

We live in rural Scotland and use these as summer tyres on 2 cars of ours, with Uniroyals as winter tyres too. I am only 6000 miles in to them on one car and 2000 on the other, but they are absolutely fantastic. A huge step up on the Continental SportContact tyres on one car and Michelins on the other. Fantastic wet grip and much quieter.

Last winter was very mild but I did that on budgets on the Mazda and have very few problems; they handle superb.

I am yet to see how these perform with a hard winter, but if you want piece of mind get some decent branded winter tyres.

I've one car with RS2s on all corners and thinking about the RS3s as replacements or going for Continental 850 winter contact and then swapping out to Continental summer as well.

RS tyres great in wet but they don't do mileage at all.

Funny enough this is not true. I've got 4 tyres from black circles because camskill couldn't get close to my price.

Bought some of these tyres (215/45/r17 xl) about 2000 miles ago, they stick like glue to the road and the feedback is vastly improved over the previous RS & RS2s. I was on GoodYear EfficientGrip before, the dry grip is only slightly better the same but the wet grip is streets ahead. They don't seem to have worn much, if at all, but Ive always found with the previous Rainsports that when they get to around 3mm left the grip decreases rapidly, only time will tell if it happens to these too.

    Edit:
Oh, should add that a voucher code for f1 autos made these tyres cheaper to get than from Camskill at the time.

I used to love the RS2 version, but the extremely soft outer wall was a nightmare for even the slightest grazing on a curb taking a chunk out. Wear was very quick aswell, and I'm no boy racer (far from it!) - Would love to hear more owner reviews on this new version, so far the majority are of similar stories to the RS2. Wet tyre grip is a must in this country, for now Goodyear eagle f1's remain my choice.
