About this deal

To qualify for this special offer, simply collect two tokens from your local newspaper on participating dates, complete the correct on-line form, download and print the form and buy your tickets from any staffed ticket office.

You can travel anywhere on the Northern network using Northern services. Hop on and off all day long. Depending on your home station, you can visit Leeds, Carlisle, Liverpool, Manchester, Southport, Sheffield and more with Northern.

Two tokens allow you to buy up to four Northern only Day Ranger tickets or Weekend Rover tickets which must all be used on the same day or weekend (depending on the ticket chosen). Travel is available between Monday 15th April – Friday 19th July 2024. For Weekend Rover tickets up to Sunday 14th July. Day Ranger tickets up to Friday 19th July.

Participating Papers
Tokens will be available to collect from participating papers from the Monday 15th April – Friday 3rd May.

    I've worked out how they can afford to do this. First, they'll cancel the trains anyway, and secondly, this government will give them a big fat subsidy whatever they do. (edited)

    Yep it's pretty good, just make sure any connections are Northern trains too e.g. West Coast Mainline between Preston and Lancaster are often not. You can use the Northern app to filter on only their trains.

    Some good options if you dig into it e.g. Blackpool to York, West Cumbria Coast or Settle to Carlisle etc.

    Northern Trains mainly cover the North West region of England.

    You can claim 4 tickets ,but they all need to be for the same day ,so if staying over in the week you will need to apply again for the return ticket

    I bet these get few takers these days, unlike the past.

    A whole day on Northern Trains would be frustrating and buying the papers puts the price up to about £12.
