sorted byI was sending this info to a mate, and put together this patronising little table for him, with a few sim-free prices chucked in for comparison (they probably arent the best prices out there, but for a ballpark figure):
HTC Sensation XE : (12x36) - 50 cashback = £382 (amazon sim free = £420)
Samsung Galaxy S2 : (12x36) - 50 cashback £382 (amazon sim free = £400)
Motorola RAZR : (12x36) + 29 - 50 cashback = £411 (amazon sim free = £420)
Samsung Galaxy Nexus : (12x36)+100 - 50 cashback = £482 (amazon sim free = £510, but apparently can be had sim free in vodafone stores for £425)
Any of these phones should be good, I guess it comes down to personal preference. I think (from memory) that all have been confirmed to be getting Ice Cream Sandwich next year, and of course the Galaxy Nexus has it now.
There are a lot of stupid posts on these deals but you take the top prize. 5 hours of call time is plenty for a lot of people and 3000 texts is practically unlimited. 500mb is the most a lot of people need, majority of people will have wifi at home and at work anyway and unless you go with giffgaff/three it is rare to get more than 500mb data allowance.
12 months at 36 pound minus the 50 pound quidco is 382. So even if one could buy a brand new S2 for 340 how does that make this a bad deal?? 42 pound more for a very useful tariff for the whole year. Plus in 12 months time this phone will still have 150-200 pound resale value.
It is also really frustrating when a bunch of people say this is a bad deal and then list off a bunch of 24 month contracts that they compare it with. This is a hot deal solely because its 12 months, its an insane deal!
24 months though

And?

I'm not going to get dragged into a debate, just to say comparing specs is not the be all and end all of what makes something good. The chart is also wrong, there is a HDMI adapter for the iPhone too.

How is it jumpy? And how is IOS5 the best lol? Get a grip sg2 was voted phone of the year
O yer i forgot u can change the wallpaper on the iphone great!

I would say that posting a spec comparison of a S2 and an iPhone 4 as a reply to question about which is better out of the S2 and the Nexus is actually the height of cockery. Just saying.
Nobody asked about the iPhone so why did you feel the need to mention it?
This is why I avoid using my phone for the Internet, cant see **** lol
Yeah as above it means you can use open zone BT i.e in Mcdonalds, pubs etc for free for 3 months then £2.99 I wouldn't mind 3 months but unless it ties you into some 12 month contract thingy I would avoid it like the plague!!!
bubbles you can prob change from another provider to vodafone so if your on O2 porting your number across to Vodafone should be fine... the problem I have had is I am already on vodafone and you can't port numbers back to the same provider etc so had to get a new number :(:(, I think that's what the other person on here had a problem with.
I never got an email, I rang phones4you this morning because I had not had a response yet and they told me that the check was done 31.12.2011, not qute sure when or if they were ever going to tell me.

Metalnigel...
Don't panic...I received a bill today for £49.00. Took my contract out on the 30th Dec...was straight on the phone to Vodafone. They cleared up the VAT issue and basically said that my monthly minutes package will start a week after I took out the contract (ie 6th Jan in my case). I wasn't informed of this by Phones4u or vodafone (wasn't in writing anywhere either). so basically I was told that I had been charged for 5 weeks for this bill rather than 4 which comes to £45.00 and charged £4.00 extra because I was only entitled to 75 mins for my first 7 days of calls and ended up going slightly over, hence the extra charge.
Anyway, to conclude, vodafone refunded the charges of my extra minute usage due to me not being made aware of the system and I have to pay £45.00 towards my first bill as I'll be paying for 5 weeks and not 4...there was no additional VAT added to the bill although that's how it was listed in my account. Vodafone assured me that next month onwards, my bill will be £36.00 every month.
An interesting additional point....he also stated that this complaint is only ever received from phones4u customers stating they are always clueless until their bill arrives and that they should have been made aware at purchase that this is how the initial bill is always sent. He also advised me to go to the vodafone stores or phone vodafone directly should I have any issues whatsoever and not go to phones4u stores as they have in the past advised customers falsely causing problems for vodafone (his words, not mine!)

Personally rather have the Sim free model.
Still not a bad price if you're after a short term contract.
I think Phones4U ones are SIM free. Perhaps somebody can confirm
Not bad then if true
All my phones from them have been sim free contract phones.
not normal contract...says upgrade look
It is a normal contract. Disregard the green upgrade thing at the top and add to the basket by clicking the blue go at the bottom.

link??
Arguably still the best phone around and on a twelve month deal.
Was going to wait for S3 but looks like it will be around mid 2012.
Voted hot.
They have a very good payout rate according to reviews, in the high 99%
Someone might mistake it for an apple product due to it's colour and then realise that it's not.
The disappointment may ruin Christmas for them
pmsl at YOU calling someone a fanboy....:-)
voted HOT!
