Personal choice but I'd rather pay the extra for the premium pack model with game/s I'd actually play.
Helps to have Google Translate open in a Window copying and pasting as you go along.

As was I, using Amazon's Currency Converter which charges your debit/credit card in your native currency (GBP). Would it be cheaper if you were charged in Euro's or would the banks conversion rate be worse?

Here's a wacky left field idea, buy from a uk etailer/retailer
The Wii U is region locked, however all European Pal games should work on it. With the original NES, it seems that the UK and Italy were locked using one way and the rest of Europe another. Though I believe the new lock applies to all of Europe.

Do not be worried about the issue. European Wii U's will work with all UK games.
No issues, you choose English in settings when you set it up and than you either link an existing Nintendo ID from 3DS or create new one. You can buy and pay UK games normally.
I linked an existing ID with my son's date of birth and as result, the YouTube did not open (because he is under 13). There was no option in parental settings to access YouTube. I ended up ringing Nintendo and asking them to change the date of birth from his to mine.

There are no problems to be had using a European wii u in England. That goes for games, power supply, nintendo accounts or anything else.
They put it up by 10 Euro, looks like Amazon are playing ping pong with the prices.
Yesterday daytime it was 189.99 EUR, and last night it was 179.99 EUR??
I placed the order yesterday at work for 189.99 EUR, then cancelled it and placed another order when I noticed the price fell back to 179.99 EUR last night.
I also got mine for £148.28 using Amazon currency rate, it was something like 0.81.
Waited for it to drop to 179.99 and placed the order on the 29th
There's been no update/progress on my shipping even though its expected delivery date is today - so lets wait and see
