I used the google Fit app and now Mi Band, apparently there's 280 steps shown more by google, Mi Band is more accurate. It's waterproof and even your phone is in silent mode, It vibrates if you don't answer a call within 3 seconds (You can change the time or turn the function off). You can put 3 alarms using their app which means your band vibrates to wake you up! Affordable technology.

Nope. The band syncs with the app when you connect it via bluetooth. It doesn't drain your phone's battery. But if you're looking for vibrate on incoming calls then yes, you would have to keep the phone connected

Just ordered one for my wife and myself. Been thinking about getting one for a while but for that price I couldn't say no! All we want ours is so we are encouraged to be more active, walk more etc. Also with a new born we can track how often we are not sleeping and despair!

It uses bluetooth 4.0 low energy so barely any power is used. I have mine connected all the time with my phone with the tweaked notification app, and havent charged it in about 6 weeks.

Wearing one now. It's got great battery life, maybe a little more optimistic than my old Fitbit, but that's no bad thing. Can't go wrong for this price...

I hear many are installing an amended version of the app to support notifications from other apps.
Anyone know using that app if it can be set to vibrate as soon as a call is received (without a delay).
also the effect on the phone battery life pairing this device

I ordered one from banggood for £10 (won't arrive for another week or two tho.) Also picked up some spare bands, just in case.

I've had one for around 3 months now, after the initial charge, my next charge was 60 days later and the battery was still at 10% at the time... would have gone another 7 days at least

perfect little tool - don't have to mess around putting it in sleep mode like you do with fitbit et al

there's a forum which tells you everything you need to know too en.miui.com/for…tml

These are a bargain; bought mine on ebay for £12 from China, I can gauge what beers induce a deep sleep after circuits :-) Can anyone recommend a (wrist) heart rate monitor so I can view my suicide risk too?

I like the fitness band which looks like a fitbit but its a cheap chinese version, it has a tiny rectangular clock, its essentially a smart watch activity tracker.

A leather strap is also available if you order it from China (there's some on AliExpress).

You can get an official one for about £30 (it's made with genuine leather), and 3rd party leather straps for about £12.

I've had one of these since January but only worn it once. Sadly it doesn't integrate into Google Fit.
There's a beta app called Gliderun that this works with and has Google Fit but sadly the stats recorded in Gliderun only upload to Google Fit if you tell it to record a workout session so it won't upload steps you have taken from general day to day walking.

For the price though this is a bargain. As with most things, pay cheap get cheap. This is one exception to that rule!

Agree. They were doing everything right in the Chinese/ Far Eastern markets but were having a tough time developing a strategy to expand outside Then they poached Hugo Barra from Google in Sept 2013 (apparently he left Google because his girlfriend -another Google high-flier, Amanda Rosenberg - allegedly left him for head honcho Sergey Brin). Barra was the architect of Google's Mobile/ Android Strategy and, as Xiaomi's 'VP of International', has been carefully guiding Xiaomi's foray into wider markets. Xiaomi is a hugely admired company in China, with vast resources, and will definitely make inroads into Western markets as they expand further.

Yeah there is another Mi Band app not on the playstore that is bit more developed. Different colour flasing LED's for different app notifications etc. Very handy to quickly glance at.
