  Google Maps allows for offline maps, has been available since 27th June, if you have Google Maps installed then you can already do it.

  google maps offline is rubbish! you cannot use the maps really in offline mode unless you just want to open the map and zoom in or out. you cannot calculate a route offline. I guess it is only good when you start a route online and if you lose the internet connection whilst in the area that you made available for offline it would still work?
