My first deal but thought I would share.
Like all of you I've been waiting for these £1 for 1 month's of xbox live gold subscriptions to come back. However, there doesn't seem to be any sign of these aside from the odd few.
Anyway, I tried the technique to attempt to install the Internet explorer app from the dashboard to hopefully then be offered the deal of £1. However, after clicking through to the accept page it just brought up the standard prices.
When I cancelled this, it brought up a statement along the lines of "are you sure? Well, here's a free 1 months trial".
So, nothing major but free for a month ain't too bad.
Remember, you have to have a SILVER membership to upgrade.
Edit:- Everyone remember to switch off Auto renewal in your account settings!

sorted byLogon to your xbox live account via the website, click on my account in the top right hand corner, you will see the option to change automatic renewal in a big grey box.
Click on the internet explorer Icon, then get going until you see the 6 boxes with the gold prices in, click the bottom right one that says "no thanks" then you get the 1 month free trail prompt.

You need a payment method but if you have PayPal then use that.

Please read my original post. Go to your account settings at Xbox.com, turn off auto renewal.
Just tried it on my Dads console and it works fine.
I selected the IE app on the dash it then said I needed GOLD so I went through the menus choosing the standard GOLD not the family version then at the very end I choose NO THANKS and the screen just went back to the original page ????? No offer - nothing ???
Had to go through saying I wanted to sign up for gold , then hit no thanks at the last step.. you will need to have a card registered though.

I did look there originally and it wasn't there. So don't panic if it doesn't appear straight away after signing up for a month!
What do you mean disabled everything ?
Weird how this works on most people by the looks of it but one or two it wont......
After doing some digging it wasn't. It was under the 1 pound for 1 month deal. No thread specifically for free one month.
