of course it's relevant!!!! People don't want to go out on a wild goose chase on the off chance their local might be giving away free trees! If your local is the only store that is definitely giving them away, then anyone else who lives locally would benefit from knowing the store! The chances are your store is the only one giving them away for free anyway

In all fairness the OP was just as arsy when in actual fact mutozm makes a very fair point. This deal becomes even more useful if people know for definite that their local store has this offer.

As for my claim re: marketing you have caused people to flock to Homebase stores unnecessarily. So rather than waste petrol and return empty handed they will feel they ought to buy something...

Can you please state which Homebase store you found these free plants in?

I know others have said they have found it in various stores etc, but it would be nice to know the exact store you found them in. Then at least we will know for definite, which store is giving these free plants away and the chances of it being a wasted trip for some; will be reduced significantly.

OP clearly states "Don't know if this a national clear-out day or just local but if you're passing a Homebase and are, like me, a sucker for plants that need a bit of TLC, have a look" If you dont fall into the category of being "someone who is a sucker for plants" don't go or dont bother ringing up to see if your local store is doing this offer. Simply move on with your boring lives and find something more constructive to do than sitting in a dark room being a keyboard warrior targetting people who are simply trying to point other like minded people to a good deal.

I put the lobelia to soak in a tray of water and out of 30 plants, only 3 are dead. I was in last week, spent £3.27 and got a lovely easter cactus in full bloom, a pot of garden mint, 4 rhubarb crowns, 2 Jerusalem artichokes and 12 asparagus thongs. High Wycombe do have some bulbs, garlic/onions and tomato hanging baskets at 10p but I didn't see any plants.

Nothing at Bredbury or Stockport branches but loads of varieties of spuds and onions at Altrincham branch. Stand is located next to the Exit door so you'd only see them on your way out.
