Speed rating is the letter, load rating is the number.

Personally, I think it would be fine.

Guess it would depend on the rating the car should have, they could both be wrong for all we know.

I'd go on one of the tyre sites where you put the reg in and it gives you the tyre required, if the load rating is above that then it should be fine.

It will be fine, unless you drive a mini? Then its probably best if you replace all 4 tyres and front & back brakes to be safe.

    Basically what you have is:

    the 87V are Load rated at 545kg @ 149mph
    the 91V are Load rated at 615kg @ 149mph

So its not a case of legality as the rolling road of the tyres makes no difference as they are the same size.

As long as they are within the tolerances for your vehicle then there should be no issue in regards to safety.

As far as I know you cant pass an mot with different load ratings on the same axle. I used to mot years ago but I have a peanut for a brain.

    MOT Regs on Tyre Inspections

Only Class 5 & 7 are inspected for Load ratings it would appear.

    A Car is generally a class 4.

The shudder could be numerous things.

Poor Balance, warped rims or just a bad tyre, both don't have to be bad to cause a shudder it could have been one side.

It could even have been a warped brake disc or sticky caliper.

    its legal.

but i would not do it cross axle... in fact i would not mix any tyres cross axle...

in fact... I would not use part worns!

Should make no difference as the original tyres on the car are a lower load rating tread pattern and rolling road identical so in theory these would be less likely to blow out at 149mph (haha)

I agree though its good practice to keep matching pairs per axle.

Agreed on the part worns though never been a fan.
