From my research - I decided the MK808 was the best spec/money.

You get a dual core processor, and seperate GPU which should be able to handle everything you require.

I've ordered one but as per my other thread I think the ebayer I purchased from is a scammer, but you can pay more than I did and buy safely!

Imito mx1 is probably the best one out there at the moment.

I just need to find a UK seller. Anyone know a UK seller for the MK808?

Unless it has an Amlogic chip set I wouldn't even consider it.

Why do you say that? Everything I've read points to the Amlogic being the cheaper and inferior compared to Rockchip.

The RK3066 in the MK808 seems a much higher rated processor. I read on one site about there being less apps available when it recognises that an RK3066 is being used but that is easily sorted through a little tweak

MK808 is available from UK sellers on Ebay and Amazon

DCX is known for his lack of people skills, ignore him..

    Amlogic Vs RK3066? RK3066 wins..

I went with an emachine over a year ago, great kit! Bsically a low running cost micro pc that i just have on all the time next to the tv, downloading all night etc. it plays hd content, outputs bitstream audio for amp etc.

Great for browsing net etc, but as its a pc can do things like yawcam, where the webcam i tuck under the tv is a security device that detects motion at certain hours, takes pic and emails to me lol peace of mind when the african cleaner is about and im at work.

There's a lot more to it than just a few benchmarks, all embarrassing … There's a lot more to it than just a few benchmarks, all embarrassing yourselves now.

Again, ignore dcx he's only embarrassing himself with his one liners.

Also lookout for the Uhost2 Android Mini PC with the superior dual core Cortex A9 Rockchip RK3066 chipset.

Is there a issue of future support with any of these devices. i think im going for the mk808 because its a trusted brand thats been taking out such devices for some time and actually provides some support for it too. so i wont be left in limbo. Ordered myself a wireless mouse so will order this too when i get home. anyone know any good deals on a wireless keyboard?

There's already an update for the MK808 which fixes some issues. Your unit may already come with it applied though.

Just seen this model on Amazon, with the MK809 chipset.

Is this any good? or is it better to go with the MK808?

I went for the Imito cause its got bluetooth built in but yeah, was a close call between that and the mk808. ive seen plenty of vid reviews on youtube and it looks like a awesome peice of kit. Just hope its got good software support for upgrades and it should last for a good couple of years.

Looking forward to having full net access from the comfort of my sofa to view on the big screen. And the kids can use it too and enhace the experience as they can use stuff like bug club on the big screen instead of the laptop.

Mal, what power source are you using as mine will come with a us plug so need a suitable adapter.

    PM sent..

Love mine so far, even came rooted, quick ADFREE and ROOTUNINSTALLER later to get rid of adverts, Facebook and one or two Chinese apps and away we go!

Plays every video format I've thrown at it so far including from my HD camcorder which most devices fail to play smoothly.

I'm on the lookout for one of these little devices too, seem to be caught between the MX808B and the MX2 mentioned above. The specs are literally identical as far as I can tell, so should I just compare price and community support?
