Free EU Train Tickets Available Mid May For 18-year-olds to Travel in The EU
Updated 16th MayLast updated 16th May by thomasrykala
Just listening to the news and thought a few might benefit from this offer. Apparently a free train ticket upto the value of £400 is available in mid May, check it out.

Ageist? So discounted travel on UK services for kids is also ageist? Surely trolling.

“Us”...There are 18 year olds who are taxpayers also

EU consists EU consists of 28 member states not just UK so what’s to bride about. You had your days so let sun sunshine on unity.

Pretty much every deal is unfair for somebody

On top of that the money comes from the taxpayers including us.

I was about to post something about this, I see the signs and on a whim I downloaded the app. There is actually a really good selection of movies, fairly recent stuff like the new Spiderman film. Before I'd dismissed it as a likely load of rubbish. Passed the time watching Deadpool!

Been using this for a while but works great!

i went there today. thanks.

I know it's free but please put donation in, visited recently and we all had a great time and yes got too see the really small re-entry capsule that Tim Peak was in...... They do have some VR rides but you have to book these as we found out..... Compared to the Jorvik Center it's a good few hours and lots to see and discuss with the kids.... PS not a deal but the York Dungeon was really good fun...

The wife and I took the kids at half term as we had both not been since school trips about 25 years ago or so. All 4 of us enjoyed it. Paid the £10 parking and then gave £5 as we walked in. In our eyes they are getting £15 straight up there. Then we all went on the little train ride which was about £10 I think and then as we were there so long we purchased the £20 family meal deal to have some lunch. Then a couple of bits in the shop. All in all £50+ spent there. There was no turnstile the lady explained Tim Peakes landing pod or whatever was there along with some other stuff going off and said we suggest a £5 per person donation. She asked if we needed parking and so paid the £10 to get the token and we put £5 in the tub and she said thanks and off we went. As a lot of people have already said if no one donated anything these places just shut down. We have an extremely popular massive park with near us that has a 'voluntary' £1 parking. I see people looking at us like WTF are you doing paying that £1???!?! Well when they start charging a forced £3 or close the place down then I can come back to you and explain why I pay my £1

Everybody has a case for the government giving money to this that and the other. Just remember it's all of uses money that the government doles out and if everything that people want the government to fund was fulfilled then your already to much taxes would be even higher. It's much better if people donated to their own individual projects.

Yes,last time was last year, half an hour before closing when we were just going to have a quick look between trains. It's not a turn style as such but barriers that funnel you through the entrance point. Here they try and plead for donations, and they were doing it to the people in front for the sake of half an hour's viewing. So we changed our minds and went back to the train station!

None of the cheapest train tickets are available in the print-at-home format. You'll need to either buy something from a railway station, or buy online and pick up from a railway station.

can someone give me an idea on cheap train tickets that qualify for the discount, which I can print at home?

Did you do it through the link above or go direct to the site. You have a normal "Online Ticket Child/Adult". Through the link you get "Online Ticket Days Out Guide Child/Adult" code only works with that. Add the children first then apply the discount, then go back and add the adults

Am I doing something wrong ?

Yes the cheapest Adult one is free. If you have 2 children add the children 1st, then apply the code, then add the adult to the basket afterwards. Gets one child ticket free, rather than 1 adult. I tried doing this and removing a child, but it reverted unfortunately. I'll update the first comment

I also recommend Open Transport Tycoon Deluxe. I got the original one bundled in with Roller Coaster Tycoon. I was thrilled when I discovered the open source version. It also had Railroad Tycoon II in the set but I never really played it

Yes thank you for that but my thinking is that e.g. you arrive at your start point at say 08.00 and you get non a train that is say 20 minutes late and you get to your journeys end at 08.41 on a journey that should get you there in 30 minutes do you still get the compensation because the train you arrived on is 31 minutes late, taking into account that if there was no delays at all you would have caught a later train and not been eligible. You caught an already delayed train, instead of your correct ontime train that will arrive later.

Interesting question you pose there?, hmmmmmmmmmmmm. And though I agree with your sentiments on principal alone, I can't comment the same in it's entirety?. I'm not sure which ends of the UK you hail from (London, outside London, outside England altogether - effort. Scotland, Ireland, Wales, etc?), but ... But here in London, those Overhead/Overground Train's are in a never ending stasis of constant Rail Engineering Work's, and/or a random breakdown of same at some point in time regardless? (the Underground/Tube, and/or DLR suffer random one's of the same too, but you specified specifically Overground/Overhead Trains, etc). Though such things like the Engineering Work's tend to more often then not be relegated to that of the Weekend (though NOT always always?), the random breakdowns however are often not?. And, as/when such things arise, when any such/all such quick/effective, and/or immediate remedy of such 'issues' spills over for much longer than liked/accounted for, etc?, then BAM!. Then penalties galore basically?. Penalties galore slapped on by the Government for failing on their duties to their customers, and the transport system too, etc ... (I'm assuming the transport systems actual legal liabilities in the regard to both State and customer is a wee bit more intricate than that? - but that's more-or-less the gist anyway?). And then they in turn have to then compensate the customer this forth too ... Bare in this time 20+ year's back, the train's (Overground or otherwise?), was still with us? - but this compensation system was not - despite train's having their 'ills' even then?. Kinda gives one an idea as to what's occurred of late (eg. Government enforced the compensation scheme, the transport system naturally didn't want it, lol).

How do you get a delay on the underground, they arrive and leave every couple of minutes, any slowing down is normally passenger related, e.g. not letting the doors close. Why should tfl be penalised for that if that happens.

ONLY if you choose to pull them up on it that is? (eg. you CHOOSE to cash it in basically?). As otherwise, you don't get! (as none of it is automatic ... )

I believe it's because surface trains/overground trains etc, take an initial AGE to come? (as compared to that of underground trains, and/or DLR trains, etc?). In the Morning train's are arguably more like 1 every other minute?. Overground trains are more-or-less more in line with 1 every 10-15 minutes+ or so?. So the game is different in that respect I guess?. Plus, in-line with alllllll the constant privatised nature of the whole transport services, those British rail train's have a whole different category of train 'operator' (+ huge fee's to match?!), to that of the normal tube trains and the like anyway?. There you go. :-)

I get your point but he said "70% off RRP" as.opposed to "70% of RRP" what a difference an F makes to those sums, if the statement is fact of course..

Umm, 70% of RRP? Then profit at 50% off....let’s take a £100 item....that’s £16.67 VAT...leaving retail price of £83.33 ex VAT....70% of that is £58.33....cost....I’ll leave the reader to calculate the VAT on this sell price and understand the losses involved

I did based it on two people and I'd check the accommodation as sometimes you may end up paying the same price for a single person in a double room. If you don't mind hostels you may get better deals.

Usually these prices are for a pair, but try the above links by putting one person and check what prices comes up? Let us know... I would be interested. £200 for a week is a bargain esp in summer time

Not necessarily true. If you know when you're going, you can get a 1st class ticket from Edinburgh to London for £40. Also some of the rail discount cards will give you good deals.

I think it does, wifi worked fine for me when I travelled in first class, but when I'm in standard the wifi sometimes won't even work for me until about half an hour out of Euston, and even then keeps cutting out.

Will go nicely with your overpriced cup of tea and wilted ham sandwich from on board 'catering'
