I dug my old train set out of my mum's loft a while ago as I thought my kids might like it. But the track seems to not conduct any more. I think I'll need to buy a new set with track - so if you know any track bargains please give me a heads up.

I live on the wirral and need to travel to Wigan not really cluded up on my train travelling but as am going from North West into Northern area what would be the best to do as in return tickets or day passes even a yearly one. Am not a student and its for same day return twice a month for upto 18months, I have come across an advert about plusses but I have never heard of this so not sure on if this would be any use to me or not but my travel will consist of bus train then bus, and vice versa between the areas. Sorry I have gone away from the question being asked here but I thank any advice if any in advance either way.

How has this got so little heat when it's been saving people money for three years and still has another five? o.O

Gosh ive got 2 massive crates of track and one of minis and the various other trains. My lil dude is autistic and was heavily into trains. Now its Sonic the hedgehog 🙈

SausageMummy

I don’t think they are not planning new trackmaster track (although my LB has always pushed take n play around his trackmaster stuff and trackmaster stuff on TnP

shatteredneon

Maybe. Hopefully the new track will be backwards compatible. The super station track takes minis, adventures and Trackmaster, so hopefully they go down that route

SausageMummy

Point being, the take and play/Adventures stuff will be obsolete

I beg to differ, these were selling for £24.99 way before TRU were out for every penny due to closure. I know because i bought 2 of them at this price at least 4 months apart (birthday gifts). Louwizz has already stated that during liquidation, TRU had a clearance price of £9.99.

Got this from Argos a few weeks ago for this price. It's a proper Hornby train set, so you're getting something better quality than the sub-£10 plastic trains that are quite common at the moment. Bear in mind - these 00 gauge locomotives are not really suitable for using directly on carpet (they can pick up debris & damage the mechanisms). We fixed our track to an MDF base board & the Christmas tree stands in the middle, on the board. laying some kind of plastic down on the floor would probably work just as well.

Ditto South West Trains.. even when paying them 3k a year...

missmisiowa

here we go again. my asda just managed to get rid of them like 2 months ago. they were £30 on a pallet for months and not shifting. one day they all disappeared (empty pallet there, so sold no doubt). i wonder if they reduced them to £15 ??

itchyone

£36.99 at argos 6 months ago. £33.99 about 8 months ago. My son was given it last Christmas from asda, was around £35. £49.99 isn't a very good price.
