I grilled a micromeal plastic container, safe to eat?

I put a cottage pie under the grill rather than oven by accident and the plastic container has warped and melted quite considerably. It was for about 10 minutes. I popped the pie out of the container and none of the plastic seemed to stick and it smells ok. I've put it back in the oven in the plastic again. I don't know much about these plastics, do you think it's dangerous and chemicals may have leeched?

Some of them aren't that unhealthy. The coop cottage pie is really nice! I was suprised at the quality of the mince and it tastes good. The only chemical is sulphur dioxide, the rest is vegetables, herbs and minced meat.
co-ops ready meals are the only ones i'll eat, and it has to be their premium meals, and only if i absolutely can't bring myself to cook something fresh! i sometimes tip the meal out of the plastic into a baking tray, to avoid chemical leach. horrid stuff they wrap our food in these days. it's a disgrace really.
I'm considering using a baking tray myself next time. I ended up getting a horrible headache from the plastic too, it's put me using them again. If plastic wasn't so cheap i'm sure there would be a lot more published health risks!
Does the meal maintain it's shape, I would expected it to crumble during coking. Do you alter the cooking time?
You can find small-ish rectangular ceramic or non-stick ones (of course non-stick has it's own chemicals that leach if it gets scratched, but only if scratched). if you have a tk maxx nearby, pop into their kitchen ware section, as i always see good deals on this type of thing. tesco has pretty good stuff for cheap too. No, I don't generally alter the cooking time, because my oven runs hot, but obviously you may want to add a few minutes for the ceramic to heat up if you go that route. if you go with the non-stick, id keep the cooking time the same as directed.
Yeah, our bodies are bombarded with toxins that the big corporations dont want to tell us about. but you'd drive yourself mad trying to avoid each and every one, although some people do a good job of only eating organic etc... i started to use stainless steel uncoated frying pans, and wok, as i was stick of the teflon scratching and possibly getting into my food. they are a pain to clean as food sticks, but i'd rather that than eating teflon, which is known to seriously mess up our internal systems.
