You can cut it down to size. Plenty of pics on the net
Try ringing them and asking if they could send you a nano replacement Else you can get your micro cut down to size
I wouldn't advise you cut it up as the chip is a different size. If you phone EE they will send you a new one
You can also collect a new sim in-store to save waiting for the it in the post, they're usually active within a few hours aswell
just pull out the sim tray from the new phone and line up your old sim with it and start cutting. only the centre part is important far as I understand it. I done this myself with two different Sims (regular to micro, and regular to nano) both work fine.

I used one of these to cut my full size SIM down to a Micro SIM size, worked great.
