About this deal
This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:
Just seen this in the new edition of Retro Gamer. This is a great offer if you want a good quality wireless joypad for the switch/iPad. Just subscribe to six months of Retro Gamer Magazine (normally £5 an issue) and you get a free Nes themed 8bitdo pad worth £30. It's only £26 for the lot, bargain

By your reckoning BOGOF deals are non existent.
I understand your annoyance as companies are always giving the bargains to new comers rather than rewarding their loyal customers, but I've just signed up for the deal and noticed this on order completion page:
"Your print subscription will start with the following issue Your first issue: Retro Gamer Print| ISSUE 183| Issue 183| On sale on or around 12th July 2018
Current Subscribers: If you have an existing subscription, please ignore the start issue stated above. Your new subscription will be added to the end of your current subscription term."
So looks to be open to existing Customers too.
Only if you take the multi media version, print version is £26
Ignore me, just found the £26 bundle. 🏻
You’re paying £26 for the magasine subscription, £0 for the controller.
Ha I have a feeling this is a never ending loop :P
Shall we agree to disagree?
I get where you're coming from, but what I mean is that you still have to pay that £26 in order to get the controller. There are strings attached.
Agree to disagree aye :).
I just wander how you expect the OP to word this? Free controller when you subscribe. It seems very accurate given that the controller costs nothing when you subscribe to the magazine, seems like, I dunno... Very accurate?
You don’t get it WHEN you subscribe though...
They have to process your order, validate your card/take payment, address and ship the controller (among other steps....)
:P
its not ‘free no strings’, it’s ‘free with...’. I didn’t think it possible for anyone to take this statement as misleading.
They're the same thing, only with different front-facing buttons and face designs. I prefer the SF30 Pro aesthetically myself, but you can't just ignore "free with...".
As for the "free..." debate going on here, I see it like this; was I planning on buying either of the goods/services being offered on their own for a similar amount in the near future? Well, in this case, I wasn't actually in the market for a subscription to a print games mag, but I was going to buy an 8BitDo controller for my Switch and laptop regardless, so this was a no-brainer as fai as i was concerned. So to me, this was a free Retro Gamer Magazine subscription with an 8BitDo Switch controller for £26!*
*as long as I remember to cancel, of course...

People only ever mention the bad points. Amazon reviews are also interesting at times.
Mine arrived yesterday.
They waited until my first issue had been sent and my dd was due to go out before telling me this. I knew they'd run out cos there was a post about it on their forum a couple of weeks ago.
Yep, I also got a dispatch confirmation at 4am... Obviously had their delivery last night!
Yeah just seen. Thanks.
Does the subscription need to be cancelled to avoid another £26 charge in 6 months time?
Without even checking I can say for sure yes you will need to cancel. I'm sure most of the time they hope people forget (edited)
The description of the gift on the my favourite magazines page does say N30 pro controller. So fingers crossed that's what it should be.
Have looked at some reviews on Amazon and it mentions d pad issues?! Want to use the pad for street fighter 30th anniversary game
